This is a twist on another RP I do a lot called New Kid, which is about a teenager who is new to a private school having transferred from the public school system or another state. In this RP the GIRL will be new to the school. Girl meets boy and a romance begins.
The GIRL can come from quite a few walks of life. Rich family. Military brat. Up to you. However, the boy in question tends to avoid blondes, and won’t even speak to one that is hispanic unless given no choice. He has run afoul of a hispanic gang at his last school. It was bad.
The BOY can be one of two versions. Just let me know which one you prefer I use. One has him as a transfer student as well, also new to the school. He would be starting as a junior. The second version is a year later after he has made friends and grown in popularity and is starting as a senior.
The School. Again two options.* (I like to choose real locations.)
Albuquerque Academy.
It does cost about $24k per student per year to enroll. It actually has three schools on its campus starting at 6th grade. So the family can’t be too awful poor unless they qualify for financial aid. A military family would probably work so long as the military parent is of sufficient rank and the family not large. My character will have been living in this area for about 5 years.
Polytechnic HS (Long Beach, CA).
The default for this school is a public school with strict enrollment policies. But it is one of the biggest and best high schools in the USA. It is also the location where many movies and TV shows have been filmed. It has had a great many alumni that are famous - NFL stars, singers like Snoop Dogg, and a national security advisor. This school works best if my character is the first version - also new to the school and a junior.
*I do have a third school, but it is a near future sci fi option and a boarding school on a privately owned tropical island for kids from very, VERY rich or influential families.
