"I'm...not too sure about that," Kate Murphy shrugged, trying to regain control of herself. "Samuel was just another stock trader, but he didn't seem to make any enemies, only friends." This suggested that Kate Murphy didn't hate Samuel, but was more disappointing in what he did, although she could very well be the killer, having a solid motive to boot. Just as Jones was about to ask her another question, they received an important phone call from Nathan, as he began to speak to everyone who had a pager on them. "Nathan here, I've just reached through to the organs of your victim. The victim was clearly out partying right before he was murdered, as evidenced by the high levels of alcohol and barbiturates I found in his system. But even numbed by drugs, Samuel was in a great deal of pain, he even broke one of his arms just trying to break free in his final moments! And talking about his arms...I found something odd. Do you remember that minty smell from the corpse? That wasn't chewing gum, but rather dental floss. Your killer must have used it before they found some actual rope to use." "Oh, great, a killer that takes their dental hygiene seriously!" Jones piped up as he took note of Nathan's autopsy.

Chapter 2:

Nathan continued with his analysis, telling the team one final clue. "There's one final thing I have to tell you, about Samuel's disembowelment. That cut could only have been done with a sharp weapon, such as a samurai sword. King also wants to speak to you, so I'm going to page him into your phones right away." Nathan's voice is replaced by that of the aging King, who makes a short punctuated pause before telling them about his own news. "I've received news from Ramirez that you need some Class 2 key-cards, so I brought it up when Greene called me. Yes, he called me and told me to have you report to his office at once. He's worried that the case will make the news and he's adamant that you solve it before that ever happens! This man practically created the Financial District and he owns a large portion of it through his company, Greene Holding. That's all you need to know, so get moving, Alden Greene will have those key-cards prepared for you when you get to his office! Ramirez will be waiting with the rest of my news when you run to the elevator, so I'm counting on you to keep the Grimsborough PD as a reputable department." With that, he finally hung up, leaving the team with one simple objective, to get to the elevator in the stock market, comfort and interrogate Greene and get those key-cards!

Objective 4B: "Wait for Nathan Pandit to complete the autopsy of Samuel Rye." is now complete!
Objective 6C: "Complete anything you have left to do at the casino." is now complete!

Objective 8A: "Report to Alden Greene at the top of Greene Trading at once." has been added!

"Alright, there's no time to lose. We need to have a little chat with Mr. Greene. Let's head back to the stock market.", Jackson muttered after putting away his phone in his pocket. "...Uhm, where is that again?" Jackson embarrasses himself as the two walk ahead of him. He quickly catches up with them and they all walk through the glass hallway again. Jackson crosses his arms and looks around. After a little bit, he tries to make some small talk with what happened through his day. "So, what's been goin' on in this case? I only just got down here after assignment. I was late this morning due to my bike having a flat on me because I ran over a nail on the way to the station, and I only got the reports an hour after you both left! On my way to the casino, the wind blew the reports down the road where they were all trampled, so I never got to read them. But at least I actually made it in time to meet you guys, so I'll count my blessings."

Charles appeared from the sidelines, staring at you. "Huh. You were pretty efficient. I was a bit paranoid that you'd muck things up, but you actually did pretty good. despite being clearly new to this profession. I say you have about.. A year's worth of experience, from my deductive capabilities. And if your looking for the crime scene, it's over there." He'd point towards the end of the hallway. 'And basically, some guy got murdered, bounded, and died at the stock market. we suspect he was drugged. So Far, we only determined someone with a class 1, which most regular individuals have. Or a class 2, which executives have. could enter, so that narrows down this being a common mugging. Alongside that, we suspect that an Ex-Girlfriend mgiht have a motive. you aleady know that, however. We need to get to Greene however, extremely quickly. We do not want to make enemies with the top, I know from experience that in the end.. that will only get you and everyone that you love killed, so.. be careful."

"That's about it...although we did find his ID Card outside of his wallet, I think Charles did a great job of explaining the case to you," Jones recounted as they continued to walk. As the officers walked down the glass hallway, they eventually arrived at the end of the hallway, seeing Ramirez at the elevator, who was supposedly carrying some news to tell them. "Hey, you made it in one piece!" Ramirez shouted out to them as Jones got closer, ready to listen into Ramirez's thoughts about the crime. "Listen, I got some brand-new testimony from a taxi driver, he told me that he drove the victim over to some Gecko Street Subway Station. Now this would be pretty normal news, except..." he pulled out a few old arrest reports, "this station's really famous for being abandoned, which means that a lot of people tend to abuse drugs and have parties down there. The taxi driver should be waiting in front of the station in case if you ever need to chat with him." With that being said, Ramirez pressed the button to open the glass elevator, which could easily seat 5 or 6 people. "Take it to the top floor and you'll meet Greene in his office, just tell them that Officer Ramirez sent you." With that, he tipped his constable hat and walked off to secure the Gecko Street Station for their investigation.

Objective 10b. "Use Ramirez’s call and go to the station to talk to the taxi driver." has been added!

He'd enter into the elevator, waiting for the others to pile in before hitting the button himself with a swift motion. Sometihng seemed esepically off about him now, even more so then before. He had been off this entire investigation, but now.. Sometihng seemed strange about him. "Hm, so.. were likely gonna have to wait a few minutes. Any other leads you all have in mind, minus investigating that subway for any hints of someone having possibly been attacked or drugged there? I'm a bit stumped, besides going to see this greene fellow. And, considering the wallet is full. I only see really two mtoives. Either someone lost their stocks in a betting race, or that lady there killed him in revenge for him being unloyal to her. She has a keycard, which is proven by the fact she was able to find the body in the first place. So, it's not like we don't have anything aganist her. But... I have the errie feelingn that there is sometihng more to this case, that it isn't as simple as a woman wanting revenge."

As the elevator zoomed up the building, Jones would look outside of the glass elevator, taking in the view. "I'd like to head back to the casino once we get those permits and take that security footage out, since it might give us a clue if the killer didn't take the optimal route to entering the stock market," Jones commented, as he thought about the situation for a little longer. "But if the killer killed that person, it's not like killing them would give them their stocks back, right?" They either killed the victim out of pure hate for them or must have had something to gain out of the whole situation and Kate Murphy did fit one of those categories, so Jones had no choice but to dock her up as a suspect. "I don't think the hospital would give us any leads, though. If the killer was a stock trader and the murder happened in the stock market, I don't see much of a reason to take the right hallway." As they said that, the elevator neared the top of the building, opening up and letting the three walk out into the receptionist's office. A woman stood behind the counter, fixing Greene's nameplate as two large mahogany doors barred the way into Greene's office, which was at the end of a long corridor.

He'd knock on the door very gently, but enough for Greene to hear him. Before coming in, walking to his front desk.. Giving him a odd stare, while he was still distracted. before announcing himself. "My name's Chris Charles, i'm from the Grimsborough PD. Mr. Greene, I heard from one of my colleagues that you wanted to give us some information regarding the recent crime that had occurred down at the stock market. do you happen to have any information on that, or have you've just come to give us the "Lay of the land", per say?" He'd kick back and relax, pulling up a chair that wasn't free, and sitting downwards. "And I do apologize for rudely bursting in, but time is running short here. Usually if a murder isn't solved in the first few days, that escalates the chances of it not being solved at all quite the bit. So, I do hope that you understand my hastiness here." He did seem a bit... Antsy while being around Greene, analyzing the room for anything of note besides the after-mentioned chair.

Alden Greene's office was outlined with bisque walls, with large rectangular windows framing the great outdoors, as a zeppelin owned by Greene Holding slowly careened by outside. Some fancy artwork was also displayed upon his walls, one containing some streaks of black and a large letter "V" upon a white canvas. In the middle of his office, there were 3 black leather sofas, made from fine leather with the centerpiece being a glass meeting table atop a plain grey rug made of cotton. Alden Greene was at his custom-built desk at the back of the room, which was built from some oak, small fluorescent lights lighting up the space behind him. There were no clues to be found within his office, but began to address the officers as they entered, but his secretary had a plate of drinks on a plate, so Jones took a bottle of juice and drank from it as Greene talked.

"Ah, Charles, it's nice to finally meet you. I've read about all of your cases in the papers and how you cleaned up the Industrial District, but I've also been told that the Greene Casino is now part of my investigation. However, if my casino is in the spotlight, so am I, which is very bad for business..." Alden would pause, procuring a set of black Class 2 key-cards from his pocket and pushing them forward, "so I am putting the casino and my stock market at your full disposition. I'm sure you'll appreciate the fact that I'd love to keep this affair secret. For my testimony, I was in my office for the whole night and I had fallen asleep at 10 PM, as I have a bedroom and a bathroom up on his floor, so I'm afraid that I was not the one who called the police, you would have Kate Murphy to thank for that."

Jones decided to ask his own question, lowering his bottle of orange juice to ask, "Greene, do you know if you've ever had any contact with Samuel Rye in the past? I doubt that you'd be our killer, but we have to make sure that we know if any executives would have wanted him dead." Greene replied in his usual calm manner with the following, "Stock traders are stock traders and although I may have seen Samuel's name in the past when I checked over our list of stock traders last month, I haven't closely followed his lifestyle up until his death, so I have no information to give to you regarding that." That seemed to end Jones' line of questioning, but if Charles or James had any questions left to ask Greene, they should ask them before leaving the room.

Objective 8: "Get to Greene's office as fast as you can!" is now complete!
Objective 9: "Interrogate Greene about the victim's death and his knowledge of the crime." has been added!

He'd look over the area carefully one last time, before deciding to leave. Even though he was sure Greene was hiding something behind that smug look of his, he had nothing to really formally indict him on. nor anything to get some more information then they already know about him. Just walking back towards the elevator slowly but surely.... Before looking back at the office one last time. "i have my eye on you, Greene. I didn't really have much suspicion.. Despite what I know you've done, but now.. I know for a fact that your hiding something BIG. Something that nobody could ever really expect.." He'd mumble under his breath as he went fully back into the elevator. leaning against it and staring at Jones. "Anyways, if your coming. i have a few things to ask of you. FIrstly.. What are your thought son the case at the moment? Who do you think's hiding stuff, and do you think that there is anyone else besides the two witnesses we've seen so far, perhaps? Hm..." He seemed to be in deep thought, more so than usual.

Greene didn't note Charles' snide remark, but returned to his work, paging in another person as Jones threw his bottle of juice away, entering the elevator alongside Charles as he heard his comment. "Hey, you seem to have a bit of a vendetta against Greene, but I don't think the man's all bad, he's given us these key-cards, after all," Jones would comment, putting his own key-card into his pocket as the elevator soared downwards at such a speed that it would be dangerous to jump in the elevator. "As a matter of fact, I think there's one more person we could question," Jones continued, as he took out his phone and messaged Ramirez. As he keyed in a text message to him, he continued to speak to Charles, "You remember that person that Kate Murphy brought up earlier, right? That person had a name, who I believe was Harry Krane. I think it would be worth it to question him if he spent any time with the victim that night."

He eventually finished sending his message to Ramirez and was now assured that he would eventually find out who this Harry Krane is. "But I have to agree with you. If Alden Greene really is hiding something like you claim, we'll just have to do a bit of snooping around to find what he's hiding. For now, I'm going to take the bus to Gecko Street Station and get that taxi driver's affidavit, tag along with me if you'd like, partner." With that, Jones walked down the trading rooms of the Greene Stock Exchange and left the building, leaving Charles to decide if he would want to follow Jones or search the casino in more detail now that he had Greene's permission.

Charles said something a bit surprising, but at the same time, pretty intelligent: "You really think that's the only thing we have to do at the moment? You go and grab that footage in particular on your way out, I'll go and catch up with you. However, at the moment, I have to go to the subway. If it's the last place he was seen before his death, then it might have some clues on his final moments, which is extremely important in order to piece together the timeline. And I'm sure the chief will be satisfied with a full timeline, it'll make it much more easier for everything to go smoothly. Unless a Defense Attorney causes a ruckus, as they usually tend to do in courtroom settings. But, eh. I digress, truly. I suppose that i'm just a bit concerned.. And Greene just...rubs me the wrong way, per say." That was a blatant lie on his part, even someone as trusting as Jones could tell that wasn't the reason why he felt so uncomfortable around Greene. He couldn't ever be quieter then now..before saying, "Alright, here I go." And so, he began to walk away alongside jones, going his own way.

Jones, who was planning on going to the subway, turned around and listened to Charles, heading to the casino once more by walking through the glass hallway and taking his time this time around, before re-entering the casino. "It's Detective David Jones again and I'm here to play the security camera footage from last night," Jones told Kate as he got up on the ladder, flashing her his Class 2 key-card as proof that he had Greene's permission. Kate sighed and let Jones examine the footage, taking the tape out of the camera as it went out of commission, the red light and swaying motions of the camera slowing down until it finally stopped. He then walked into the back of the casino, Kate Murphy following behind him, until he reached the employee lounge, which had a few employee training videos that were on tapes, just as Jones had predicted. With the tape in hand, he would put the tape within the TV, switch it on and play the video, ready to see what exactly happened that night.

He'd relax by the door, waiting to see exactly what had occurred that night. If he was gonna get a Irrefutable timeline, then he would have to be sure to have ALL of the details in mind. not just the bits and pieces that he was already conjuring up in his head that may not even exist, in the end. But, he had to digress. Sitting down by Kate, he gave her a piece of paper and a pen. "Mind giving me a written version of your account, for future reference and all? And at the bottom of it, you could sing right there. It's just so that we have a official account. You know, legal things and procedures. as much as it annoys me to have to follow some of these centuries old practices.. It is quite nesscary, in order to keep the balance of things." He went off on another tangent as the footage began to play, going over to it while still having Kate in his earshot. Almost as if he was trying to multitask both the footage and her at the same time... which probably wouldn't go well, if his personality indicated anything.

As the footage played, Kate gave her testimony, beginning to tell Charles the tale of what happened that day.

--Chips and Rye-- (Moderato)

I checked in for my shift at 6 PM that night with my key-card, but it all went well until Samuel Rye stumbled into the joint, drunk as can be.
He couldn't even slur out his words, so I had to forcefully remove him from the casino once he started to disturb the others.
The argument that I had between him was by some of the decorative items that the casino had on display, but I didn't do anything else.
After that, I didn't have any more disturbances for the night, up until the time that Samuel's body was discovered in the stock market.

Just as Kate completed her testimony, Jones awoke with a sharp jolt, pointing to a part in the video. "Look at this, Charles, you're going to want to see this! You haven't heard the worst of what happened that night..." he continued as he prodded at a shot where the cameras that were normally tilted to the player's hands perked up for a moment to get a clean shot of the worker, Kate Murphy, threatening the victim with..."A SAMURAI SWORD!" Kate seemed rather startled, but immediately tried to correct herself. "P-please officers, that was just a umbrella! It may look like a sword, but...I swear that I only lost my temper when he started prodding me with his wallet and I shoo'd him away with it!" Kate Murphy exclaimed, immediately trying to re-collect herself from all of this undue suspicion. What will Charles trust, his own gut instinct, the video or what Kate Murphy's trying to tell him? He could always perform a cross-examination of her testimony, as after all, it was well within his rights.

"Hmph. If that's really the umbrella in question, you wouldn't mind handing it over as evidence. correct? We could easily run it through anayzlsis and compare the shape to that in the video. And that'll prove your claims true or false. However, for the moment. We will have to detain you as a possible suspect, only as for protocol. i do not believe you did it, but the MMO Is there, alongside a ton of evidence pointing towards you. so you must understand why I have to do this, in the end. It's only for the safety of the truth, really. If you are innocent, then this will prove it. If not, then.. Well, we will see from there. However, I do have to keep you detained for the time being. until there is more evidence that pops up indicating that there is something else going on here. Jones, go and find her somewhere where they can keep a eye on her. However, don't make it a dark cell. Make it a comfy holding chamber, you remember that we had some of those still installed. correct?"

Kate walked over to the desk in the front as Jones closely watched her, right before she removed her umbrella and gave it over to Jones, who took it before cuffing her and leading her over to the patrol car outside. "I'm going to make sure that she gets a good cell, but if you need to ask her anything, just come by the station and she'll be in one of the rooms. I'm counting on you to search the station without me, but with me at the station, I'll make sure that this Harry Krane fellow is brought to the stock market or the station, whatever's closer to him," Jones finished as he shut the casino door behind him, leaving Charles in silence. If he was especially watchful with Kate's testimony, there might be one more thing that could be worth searching, but if he didn't pick up on it, his next goal should be to examine the train station in further detail.

Right when he was about to leave, Charles had a sudden Emipahy: "The Murder weapon... Could it be?' He'd almost rush over to the decorative items, examining each and every single one of them for something, anything, that could have signs of being the potential murder weapon. "I just need to find something that could be long and sharp enough to make a wound like that... Perhaps.." He'd scan through them all thoroughly. not only searching for something that could possibly be used to stab someone, but any signs of something once being there but no longer existing. "Hmm... Let us see here. Anything.. Do not let this conclusion be wasted time for me. i have to hurry as soon as physically possible, but.. if I were to discover something as important as that, then this entire case might be changed in a matter of moments. It's extremely possible, to say the least.. but, I can't be sure until I finish my search of this place. no unreasonable assumptions until they are proven, after all.

A samurai sword sheath was one of the objects that Charles found as Jones continued to drive down the hallway, taking Kate to a cell for future questioning. As he found it, it would have a light scent on it, possibly that of some facial cream, but what was more important is that the brightly colored sheath lacked its sword! It was now very probable that the samurai sword contained within this sheath could have been the murder weapon, but without the weapon on hand, it would be impossible to prove that the weapon killed him, although a complex forensic test could prove it.

However, this does mean that the killer must have entered the casino some time prior to the murder to collect the sword and with that, the floss and facial cream was beginning to help Charles and Jones in building the killer's profile. Jones eventually stopped his car in front of the police station and let Kate in, motioning to King on the way in that she was only a "potential" suspect and might not even be their killer. "Careful, Jones. Your job as an officer is to take every suspect into account, no matter who they may be," King warned Jones as he led her into a holding cell and locked the door behind him, leaving Kate alone for the time being. "As for Greene, you dealt with him in a secure manner, but this will not be the last that you see of him. I want you to put him as your first priority while you're in this district, understood?" Jones nodded back to King, a sure reminder to the chief that Jones was well aware of Greene's power.

Charles had decided to send the sheath down to the lab to see what they could salvage from it, giving it to one of the nearby officers that still remained on the scene before leaving to the subway. He hopped in a cab, and gave the driver a decent sum of money. "Hey, get me to the old subway as soon as possible. Here, the address.' He'd give it to the driver, quickly buckling himself in, his badge being more than visible. "Sorry if this is a bit abrupt, but I just need to get there as soon as physically possible. I'm sure your used to shady people jumping in your cab, handing you a ton of money, and saying they needed to get somewhere." He'd say in a extremely joking matter, although it was clear to about anyone he was extremely nervous about this whole situation...something about this murder just bugged him, even more so then the other crimes he had seen over the years...and he had seen some grizzly things, things that he would never, EVER want to have to recount to anyone unless 100% necessary.

The cab driver firmly stepped onto the accelerator and sent the cab flying down the street, twisting past several districts, passing by Greene's neighborhood, a small dock and the Eastfield Market until it stopped at a subway station that wouldn't look too out of place in the city. Its granite steps long abandoned and soaked in alcohol, Charles would have to watch his step if he were to head down the stairs. However, at the bottom of this pit, he would find an assortment of alcohol strewn across the floor, with a pile of bottles lying by the steps. A prescription bottle for some pills would be lying on its side, almost as if someone had tried to take it with them, while a bunch of confetti and party darts lay around on the train tracks.

Ramirez immediately came to Charles' side as he entered the dank terminal, giving him some more information. "Actually, I took the time to actually look through those arrest reports and I found something that you might find rather interesting!" he reported, passing him a report from early on this morning. "Apparently, Kate was trying to break into the station, but since it was illegal to be here in the first place, she was given a small fine for her break-in." It looks like Charles had an important investigation ahead of him and he had a myriad of places to start from.
