If you're fine with a first time Arena roleplayer, I'm in. Is there a standard character sheet used in Arena rps, or do I just need the essentials and their skills/abilities?

There isn't any standart, but i suggest you look up the tier system in either of the Multivereses here. Tiers 4-5 would be prefferable, since they're not too powerfull, yet still have some space for interesting skills.

Ok, I've read the tiers and I'm typing up a character and I'll throw them up in the morning because I'm pretty damn tired right now.

Eh, I made a character but I think she's closer to Tier 3.
Name: Canan Chain-Breaker, the Brawler Witch
Age: 34
Sex: Female
Race: Half-Orc
Appearance: Canan is a tall half-Orc woman with gray skin and red hair in dreads. She is well built and looks very intimidating to most people. Her eyes are red and she has two small tusks that stick out of her mouth. Her outfit is compromised of a corset-like leather piece that covers her torso, a short blood-red dyed leather jacket with the sleeves folded up to her arms, baggy cloth pants held up by a leather belt and a sort of tattered cape around her waist that hangs halfway down her calves. (Don't really know the word for something like that...)
Background: Canan was born to a human slave in an orcish tribe. When she grew up. When she grew up, they had her fight others for their entertainment and she took to fighting naturally. They promised her freedom if she continued to fight, but they never delivered on their promise. Eventually, she made a pact with strange creatures from among the stars to gain powers, which she used to fight her way to freedom along with the other slaves, who gave her the name Chain-Breaker.
Equipment: Canan wears "armor" with leather covering her torso, but every thing else is just made from cloth. She wears Cestus gloves with metal covering the knuckles and carries a hooked chain on her belt.
Skills, Magic, and other Abilities: Canan is a capable fist fighter and moves fast. She is also spellcaster, and she takes her powers from a pact made with something up there among the stars and most of her spells seem a bit unnatural in nature. Many require blood to be spilt, whether it be hers or her opponents. At range, she can fire bolts of eldritch energy and she also augments her punches with magical energy, giving them a little more "oomph". Another tactic she uses is throwing out her chain and trying to hook onto her opponent to pull them to her. She can fly into a rage, where she fights much more aggressively and recklessly.

The only thing i ask of you is to give a more precise description of her abilities - her base physical strengh (deadlift), estimate of overall speed (can she dodge an arrow? a bullet? perhaps outrun a cheetah?), the power and general way of damage-dealing (heat, cold, blunt force or piercing and ect.) of the Eldritch bolts and fist enhancments, and the benefits of a berserker rage. The power level may greatly vary from those conditions.

Hey there, why dont you battle me?
I'm currently in the process of shaking off the rust, heres a character for you to face if you are interested.
Name: Daxius 'Danger' Vinnerall
Age: 21
Height: 5'9
Weight:: 162 ilbs
Race:Half Elf/Half Demon
Appearance:
Class: Ronin
Weapons: Rune Edge: A large enchanted sword forged from the bones of a chaos dwarf, inside of a cursed volcano, it has the properties of heat and explosive magic that can be used to cause heavy damage, though Dax isnt immune to this energy he must be careful not to blow himself apart. Other then that its a fairly well balanced sword, very heavy but Dax can wield it well with one hand because of his enhanced strength and dexterity.(pictured in main image)
Throwing Knives: Dax carries 20 kunai blades which he can hurl with amazing strength and precision.
Lasso Claw: Dax has a custom grappling hook which he has modified to not only climb tall structures but to use in battle, his training allows him to use it as a lasso or as a long range flail, the rape is about 12 feet long an is made from elven twine making it very strong and impossible to cut with normal weapons, it as also very lightweight and resistant to fire. The 'claw' on the end of the grappling hook is fierce looking steel double pronged hook which can cause very painful injury if it sinks into flesh.
Abilities: Dax is skilled adventurer with superhuman strength and agility which allow him to traverse the dangerous areas he usually travels through. He has all the nessecary skills in parkour, wall climbing, grappling hooks, jumping, swimming which allow him to get through almost any area with reletive ease.
Dax's sword fighting is mostly self taught, but he has honed his style over 5 years and his demon blood allows him to pick up fighting abilities a lot quicker then normal humans, in a word he was born to fight well, and he does. He employs a very freeform style of fighting which allows him to combine his amazing strength and nimble reflexes to be constantly moving and keep his opponents off guard, he has an excellent sense of balance which adds to his formidable swordsmanship, but he was never formally trained with with blade and prefers to avoid 'normal' restricted sword duels as his fighting strength is in his creativity.
