A raven caws before it takes flight; through the skies of Earth, above the humans.

Once, mankind accepted a simple truth; that they were not alone in this universe. In some worlds, Man believed home to their Gods. Others, they knew to fear. From around the cold and darkness, came the Frost Giants.

The raven continued to fly through the sky, going through the upper clouds, before going into a gray one, which appears to have snow and ice on top of it; a wintry landscape, with frigid blasts of cold air riding in, through the wind. The bird flew over one of the mountains, where one of the common residents spotted it.

Forged in a body of ice, these beings took their toll on war; threatening to plunge mankind into a new ice age from above.

Areas upon Earth began to freeze over, and a mother and child tried to evade the cold air, but having to become frozen on the spot. Then, an army of golden-armored beings ran through the area towards the invaders. The battle was vicious, until it blurs, and fades to black.

The Asgardian army drove the Frost Ones back into the heart of their own world in the clouds, far separate from the victors' own homeland. In the end, the enemy's king Laufey fell. And the source of their power was taken from them.

The Casket of Ancient Winters, their homeland's power source, was picked up from its stand, just before their icy realm began to crumble, and fall apart, leaving it into ruin and desolation.

With the great war ending, the oldest story ever told, was written in the stars. Stories of time, where and when the Asgardians continue to rule above the Earth. These beings were powerful, each bearing the natures and elements present amongst mankind: Thor ruled over the strongest of storms; and Balder, who gave them the path of light out of darkness. And then, there were others, who were the most ambiguous: Loki and Lochila, who aim towards chaos and conflict. In time, restlessness will come and, finally, rise up against them. In this world, a child was born. A girl who changed everything about the way we live.

---------------------------------------------

Eight-hundred years. That was how long Lochila had been taking care of her; the blonde daughter of a god she once hated, and yet harbored feelings for. It was all Loki's fault that he practically ruined her perceptions, and influenced the rage to come to the forefront. In the end, they were both punished, in a very different way: Him, eternal imprisonment; her, eternal motherhood. At first, she was disgusted to even look at the child; to even hold her in her arms, as if she was the ugliest thing in the world. Her cries kept her up at night, and then, there were days where she wanted to get rid of it. However, even if she wanted to be quickly done with the task, whenever she heard laughter, there was a flutter in her heart that she couldn't get rid of. There was a light shining through the pain and the rage. Soon, that was when she realized that she held a bit of fondness for the child.

Every time, the little thing smiled or laughed, a slight crack would appear on Lochila's face, even without her realization. She's been to Earth so many times during her and older brother's exploits, and so, she wasn't blind or deaf to the concept of raising and handling babies, or children, for that matter. Not to mention, that on Asgard, there were plenty of them. For some reason, in her eyes, Torunn became one of the few Lochila would ever wave off. She was special, both literally and figuratively; a pure soul. There were even days where the goddess of mischief wanted her as her own, considering that she wasn’t hers, and that there was nothing relatable between them. Torunn was someone who would be in the sunlight within the clouds, while Lochila would be chained up in darkness, in the underground. That was the reality: She was pure, and she was not.

As the years passed, Lochila, eventually, internally-admitted that she adored the girl; from a babe, to the teen she was now...in a physical sense, anyway. By the time she got older, around 750 years (making her at least 12-13, physically), Lochila decided to tell her the truth on where she was from, and who her parents were. At the same time, Torunn started to discover her powers. Since then, she would frequently see Torunn try to make contact with her father, usually for help, through prayer. The goddess would then start to teach her about the very world the girl was originally from, to the point, where Torunn received the gift of an enchanted sword by the dwarves of Nidavellir...upon the personal request of her father. It made Lochila herself think whether if he answered his daughter’s prayers, but then, by the time, cities were being built, justice evolved, and with it, the relationship between the three family members. Between father and daughter, niece and “aunt”, as well as brother and “sister”.

There were rumors about superhuman beings protecting people, to the point where they were rumors of them terrorizing. Truth be told, because of these incidences, the goddess didn't want Torunn to leave her sight, since she's someone who's not originally from this world and, how protective she was, there were times where Lochila would choose spy on her with her magic, in order to know where she was at all times. But she couldn't follow her for long, since her magic is slightly weaker on Earth, than how it is, back in Asgard. As a result, Torunn was instructed to stay by the goddess’ side, most of the time, during certain escapades.

Torunn had been going to school for awhile during the day living her life normally as a mortal, though she made sure to go back home once school was all over and done with. She ran a hand through her hair slightly as she was just a block away from their house, she wished that she could be home and learn more about her life back on Asgard. But she didn't really seem to have much contact with him either as she headed down the sidewalk and then she then made her way towards the apartment building that they had been calling home.

She made her way into the building as she looked towards the guard who was there standing in the small little security section and gave the guy a friendly smile and nod, as she headed into the elevator and pressed the top floor. Torunn leaned back in the elevator as it started to go up, as she started to relax a bit, she really did want to go out and be like the other heroes out there and make a difference but she didn't really know how to either as soon as the elevator made it to the top floor she made her way towards the apartment and took out the apartment keys as she entered. "I'm home." Torunn called out as she entered putting her keys near the front table by the door and set her backpack down on the coat rack.
