Juzo is an energetic youth that grounds himself in the present moment. Most people describe him as an hyperactive adrenaline addict, as anything that will get his blood pumping attracts Juzo like a moth to a flame. The future never seems to be a consideration for him besides having vague ideas of how he should pursue his dreams, and he tends to act first instead of considering multiple options. Competition is a major driving force for Juzo because he believes that in order to learn and grow one must stretch themselves to and sometimes beyond their limits. Juzo has romanticized the idea of fighting, there's something about measuring one's full strength in mind, body, and soul against another in the face of potential danger that resonates with his entire psyche.
When it comes to Juzo, as the saying goes, "pride comes before the fall." When he wants to achieve something, he believes with every fiber of his being that he will be successful, regardless of the odds or what people say. He thinks that not believing in himself is a far more heinous crime than being accused of hubris. That being said, Juzo absolutely despises losing. When people call him out for being a sore loser, he'll act as if he wasn't fully trying or that he let the champion win on purpose. Juzo has to keep reminding himself that in order to become a master, one has to first allow themselves to be the fool.
Socially, Juzo has shown to be amicable but his silver tongue and impulsive nature leads him to more trouble than not. While some people tend to open up around him due to his zestful nature, others take him as naive and arrogant. In group settings, Juzo sometimes finds it hard to cooperate with others because he wants to prove his strength or show his skills in some way. With friends, Juzo is very playful and joking, and will often tease them as a sign of affection. As a hater of silence and a lover of conversation, Juzo will often fill the empty space with his own thoughts, he'll either work through them himself or share them with others in hopes of hearing their own opinions. Another habit of Juzo's is that he makes rivals of his classmates and friends. If you know Juzo long enough, it's nigh inevitable that he'll challenge you to some sort of competition. Though it's normally in good faith, this aggressively competitive side of him can get on people's nerves after a while. Compatibility wise, Juzo works well with extroverted people who don't take his shit to heart. People with low self esteem or anyone with introverted qualities will probably be rubbed the wrong way at some point by Juzo due to his loud, energetic, and sometimes rash behavior.
Juzo's idiosyncrasies and curious nature make tinkering a natural hobby for him. In his spare time, he's often working on creating little inventions or mechanisms. He will often recruit friends to test out his little inventions, which has let to many situations going hilariously awry. Unfortunately, Juzo struggles with written work, lacking the patience to write out his thoughts on paper. During his academy days, Juzo had to study hard to barely meet the standards for his writing work. He'd much rather communicate with blueprints than with ink.

Juzo Kagune was the second son born to Izumo and Mastumi. The family life Juzo had as a child was a no-nonsense, strict environment for a young boy, especially one as energetic as Juzo. Constantly ridiculed for his "wild behavior," Juzo was kept on a short leash by his parents. Though the Kagune clan boasts many strong shinobi, Izumo and Matsumi took the business route in life, using their kekkei genkai to invent rather than fight. Using their kekkei genkai, Kugane are renown inventors, using steam to power complex machinery. Izumo and Matsumi believed that grooming their sons to take on the family business was the best course of action they could take. And of course, Juzo resented them because of it. It wasn't that he hated the business, what he despised was not having a choice in the matter.
Juzo would often sneak away from his duties to spar with friends, enjoying the rush he got from combat. It was then that he began taking an interest in the shinobi of Kohonagakure. Juzo would fluctuate between trudging through his duties and spontaneously dodging them to pursue his own interests instead. He remembers being fairly unsatisfied with his life during this time, shackled by his family's expectations. It was also around then when he met his favorite clan elder, Ogai. Ogai was a wise old man who seemed to bring every story he told to life. Juzo remembers sitting in his chambers, listening to tales of the old ninja and samurai of history and being deeply inspired. Ogai was the first person Juzo told about his love for fighting, for testing his skills against others, and about how his desired path in life seemed to go against his parents' wishes, given his current circumstances. Ogai felt sorry for the young boy, and decided he would look after him, for his family seemed only to care about the boy's potential to be a businessman in the future.
One day, after skipping a business meeting his father wanted him to shadow, Juzo visited Ogai to ask him a serious question. Ogai stayed silent for quite a while when Juzo told him he wanted to become a strong shinobi when he grew up, one that would bring his family honor and respect. Ogai then told him this, he said, "Juzo, you are at a crossroads in your life, and you have been given two potential paths that will decide your destiny. One is obviously the easier choice, to heed your parents' instructions and let them craft you into an aspiring young business man with nothing but a bright future ahead of him. The other path is the unknown, a much harder path for one so young to take. But I believe I've come to know you well and I can see that you never back down from a challenge. If you truly wish to become a shinobi, I will show you the way, I will help reveal your path so that you may head towards your future with no regrets. But do not take these next words lightly, it will not be easy, you will be ostracised by your family for disobeying their wishes. I have one question, what are you willing to sacrifice for your destiny?"
Ogai gave Juzo a set of clan scrolls that revealed how to use their kekkei genkai, Steam Release, and began teaching him the basics of taijutsu. Ogai revealed that Kagune shinobi were nintaijutsu specialists, so first, Juzo would have to learn to fight with his fists before any chakra would get involved. As Juzo committed more to training, his family became more and more resentful of him, even his brother was confused as to why Juzo rebelled so much against his predetermined future.
When it came time to join the academy, Juzo knew his parents would never allow to let him pursue his desired path. He instead went to Ogai and expressed his concerns. The old man offered to sponsor the boy, having taken a liking to his energetic and driven personality over the years. His parents stopped talking to him when he was admitted to the academy, harshly claiming that he was letting his family down by pursuing such a dangerous path. After seeing his younger brother use Steam Release while training, Seiji confided in Juzo, telling him that even though his parents didn't believe in him, Seiji did. But, ever the realest, Seiji warned Juzo that it was unlikely their parents would ever understand his choice to follow this path. Ogai's question kept circling in his mind, "what are you willing to sacrifice for your destiny?"
On the day Juzo graduated from the academy, Seiji was the only one to show up and support his brother. His parents had kept up their cold disposition towards their son, attending to business rather than go see what their son had achieved. Ogai had passed away during his years at the academy, a crushing blow to Juzo. He was really on his own then, in his studies and his family life. Juzo persisted despite this, using his resentment towards his parents to fuel himself further. He would show them that he could follow his own ideals and values and still be successful, no matter the odds. Juzo decided to move out once he had achieved genin rank, seeing as he had been receiving no help from his parents for some time already. He currently lives in a cheap studio apartment, with just enough space for his neccesities and a desk for all his tinkering, a hobby he had taken up over the years. If people were to visit his home, they would find a messy apartment, clothes and machinery thrown about. Juzo is much happier on his own though, able to do the things he finds important, instead of his parents. Among the shinobi of Kohonagakure, Juzo thrives, given his extroverted nature. During his academy days, Juzo went out of his way to interact with pretty much everyone. Granted, he's a lot to keep up with, always wanting to partake in some activity or adventure. People were generally split on how they felt about his polarizing nature, either they found him to be fun and exciting or they saw him as annoying and naive to the realities of the ninja world. With tensions running higher between the villages, Juzo knows that he could be placed into to life-threatening situations at any time. But he's ready, Hell, he's probably looking forward to the challenge. But in the back of his head he can still hear his parents' voices, whispering in his ears that the path he's taking could very well lead to an early death. He can't be sure if either omen will come true, but he wants to be learn, to train harder, to become strong. The question is, what sacrifices will he have to make to fulfill his dreams?

Steam Release: The Kagune clan is capable of releasing their chakra as hot steam. Most users using this style are close range combatants that use pressurized steam to enhance their combat prowess and movement. Some users utilize a variety of area of effect attacks that involve altering the battlefield, using steam to obscure and confuse their foes. It's an aggressive style that excels at wearing away the opponent using explosive hit and run taijutsu. Steam release users will use their jutsu to evade ninjutsu and close the distance between them and the opponent. Then, they'll most likely attempt to break through their foe's defense engage them with hot, pressurized, concussive nin-taijutsu strikes.

- Tinkering, he's the person people go to if they want to create unique weapons or mechanisms - Muay Tai style taijutsu, focuses on using the "8 limbs" of the body, users strikes with: hands, elbows, knees, and feet - Adrenaline junkie, will try anything once regardless of how sketchy it may look - Ever since he began getting paid as a genin, he's been living on his own, he's learned to provide for himself
Steam Release - Engine Burst Style Juzo moves through the battlefield by expelling pressurized steam from his limbs, enhancing his mobility and striking power. Juzo created a fighting style that utilizes his enhanced mobility to burst towards an opponent, dodging attacks in order to move into close quarters combat, where he excels. Juzo initiates the style by performing a set of five hand seals, ending with Tiger. The aggressive style of nin-taijutsu heavily consumes chakra, so Juzo must pace himself if he doesn't want to "run out of steam" too early, so to speak.
Steam Release - Geyser Wall Juzo performs four hand seals, ending with the boar seal and strikes the ground with both of his palms. A wall of steam erupts from the ground much like a mini geyser and is large enough to cover up to two people and is used as a shield to stop attacks in front of Juzo. It should be noted that the steam lasts only for a few seconds and the geyser only protects Juzo from his front side.
Steam Release - Steampunk Barrage Juzo's signature technique, Steampunk Barrage, requires that Juzo get close to his enemy and break past their defenses. Once he breaks through, he releases a barrage of strikes using his "eight limbed" style taijutsu. Under a hail of superheated and concussive punches, elbows, knees, and kicks, Juzo aims to overwhelm his opponent. To end the combo, Juzo releases a heavy uppercut or knee, condensing steam until he lets the strike go. The result is an explosive strike that blows the opponent away.
Steam Release - Overdrive Engine Juzo's working on creating an enhancement jutsu to supplement his aggressive fighting style. The result was: Overdrive Engine, his trump card technique. After stringing together a long string of 15 hand seals, Juzo's core temperature begins to rise. The technique is ready to use once Juzo himself begins emitting steaming lightly through his pores to balance out his rising temperature. In this mode, Juzo's speed and attacking power is increased, the concussive steam he uses with his strikes are hotter in temperature. Using this technique drains his stamina and chakra significantly, so he'll be as aggressive as possible in an attempt to finish the fight before his chakra runs dry. This enhancement can anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute, depending on his stamina when he begins the technique.
Juzo carries the standard shuriken, kunai, string-wire, explosive tags, and all the other normal utilities like most shinobi. In addition to his normal ninja tools, Juzo will often bring inventions he designed himself to test if they work like they should. Juzo recently added a pair of weighted finger-less gloves to his tool kit. What used to be a practice tool, has now been modified to suit combat. Juzo wears these gloves to add just a tad more weight to his hits, the difference isn't huge, but it's slightly noticeable. If Juzo wants hit quicker instead of harder during a fight, he'll usually take off the gloves, which slightly increases his striking speed until his hands adjust to the change.

Juzo employs a close-range, aggressive, and in-your-face style meant to overwhelm his opponent until they can't out maneuver him or create enough distance to dodge his onslaught. He'll keep his opponent on the move, in an attempt to give them no time to think or collect themselves. By using steam release, Juzo enhances his agility and impact by pressurizing and releasing steam from his pores. Since his style revolves around keeping the enemy close and closing the gap, Juzo has tailored his fighting style to force people to engage with his nin-taijutsu (Engine Burst Style).
@Dystopya Apologies for the delay, been quite busy. Not going to have much time tonight either as I have to prepare my apartment for inspection tomorrow.
Anyways, I'm having to consider some aspects of your character concept. Mostly with how the steam-based machines technology could change the setting I have. I'm going to have to think about whether or not I'd be comfortable with that sort of addition, in comparison to what tech I have already.
I was planning on having the Kagune clan's inventions be on the smaller scale so that it wouldn't interfere with nation wide technology, seeing as the only people that can use the inventions are those with steam release. But I can change whatever is necessary to better fit your concept, just let me know.
@Dystopya Sorry for the delay, life has been kicking me in the ass lately. But should be calmed down now. Anyway, I went over the character sheet and it is quite well-written. There aren't a lot of specific issues, however there are multiple big-picture / overall concept concerns.
To begin with, he doesn't read like a genin. He seems older, like a chunin. Around 15. From how structured and synced his abilities are, his picture, and personality. His personality in particular seems very mature for his age. It's quite developed, and I don't mean that as in written out, I mean it seems more well-formed than most 13 year olds would get. Very rationalized, and almost sculpted. Like he has learned enough psychology to work out his own mindset.
It seems odd for a clan with a specialized kekkai genkai to be so against their members being shinobi. Particularly since they live within a ninja village. Being against the violence in such a way makes it seem like the family would object to staying within a place that is inherently militaristic. Kekkai Genkai were also usually developed for the sole purpose of getting an edge in war. I could certainly see family fearing for his safety and not wanting him to go into a dangerous career, but to be... what seems 'morally' opposed to it in their stance just is quite odd for them to be living in Konoha. The steam kekkai genkai is obviously very well-suited to battle, and has been developed within a shinobi village. I find it extremely unlikely for Juzo to be the only one using it in this way.
His clan elder (who seems to have obviously been a shinobi sometime) mentioned that the community at large would be against it. I don't think that would be true. Most people within the villages are very supportive of the ninja, as they provide a good deal of protection and economic benefits. Really those who dislike ninja tend to be the poorer folks scattered throughout the various countries. They often have the same opinion of the samurai as well. Too much unnecessary fighting (less so for about a full generation or two though) and collection of wealth compared to them.
While I'm not particularly against any individual power Juzo has listed, his moveset overall covers too many bases, as in all of them. He has two separate nintai modes that can overwhelm most taijutsu fighters, reducing visibility in the entire area except for himself, nullifying ranged attacks with reduced visibility and deflection, and enhanced ranged abilities himself with his inventions. Right out of the starting gate, he controls the entire battlefield at once. His inventing seems very separate from his overall moveset. He's fighting like an up-close brawler focusing on his kekkai. I'm not sure if he should have both to such a degree.
I am also concerned about how versatile this kekkai genkai has been made to be for the purposes of growing it. All on its own it is providing enough power and utility to have every single one of Juzo's techniques based around it, and easily he keeps up with or surpasses the other genin profiles right out of the gate, with potential for it to grow even further. Currently this kekkai seems too catch-all, capable of covering all bases at once before Juzo even learns other moves.
His bio also doesn't support his prowess in his kekkai genkai, and for how much he was able to cover these bases. His family is against him being a shinobi, and he has received very little support. Very little in the way of figuring out how to truly be a ninja outside of the elder who passed away early on in his training. For him to form his kekkai genkai techniques into covering all angles on his own after that doesn't quite work, at least with how young he's supposed to be. I could see him doing much more with his inventing and such, but learning that amount of nintai and martial arts and jutsu application, while being mostly on his own, is a bit far fetched.
The overall point to all of these things is that he is too... well-formed. Everything syncs too much for a starting genin, leaving no openings for opponents outside of waiting for him to run out of 'steam', and also leaving a potential lack of fun advancement for you later. I can work with you to get him more focused and have more room to grow.
@Dystopya Like the edits you did :3. Things look pretty much all good now. Only thing is that in the bio there is some factors of him letting down his clan as a whole by becoming a shinobi, rather than just his immediate family. That can easily be altered though or explained, whichever route you'd want to go with.
Uzumaki. A clan famed for its sealing jutsu. They are a rather enigmatic clan that many don't seem to know about, if people do it is usually only surface level at best. While possessing no obvious Kekkei Genkai, those of Uzumaki blood are typically hardier than most, slower to age and incredibly resilient. One final unique trait of the Uzumaki clan is a unique chakra that some of its members possess, suiting them to becoming Jinchuuriki.
Kushina is a kind soul with a lot to prove. She has a soft-hearted nature, being incredibly supportive and surprisingly nurturing. However it is hidden beneath a large amount of stubbornness and frustration. She has been victimized and berated by anyone she has ever met... Even her own father seems to have abandoned her to her loneliness. To hide that loneliness she channels it into a stubborn will, refusing to give up until she is accepted! She is an eccentric and impulsive girl, often acting without thinking or with little regard for the consequences. Her eccentricities often manifest themselves as a tomboyish attitude, as well as the tendency to use the phrase “Ya know” as something of a verbal tic. Kushina is a strong and capable girl who is devoted to helping her teammates and proving herself as a true Kunoichi. Maybe she’ll finally gain some of the acceptance she has been yearning for.

The destruction of Uzushiogakure sent tremors throughout the Uzumaki clan, so many were dead or missing that it was widely regarded as the end of the clan as a whole. Luckily the survivors were given refuge in Konoha and what few remained of the Uzumaki bloodline sought solace with their longtime neighbors. The leaf village prospered for quite some time. The Uzumaki clan’s presence made the village leaders considerably less worried about matters concerning sealing...Such as the tailed beast they held within the village.
Either due to their overconfidence in keeping the beast sealed, or through sheer, dumb luck the Nine tailed fox broke free of it’s jar. Erupting within the middle of Konoha the Fox began to spread destruction and death across the village, there was no discrimination, no strategy there was just pure and unbridled fury and contempt for all of humanity. The destruction continued and the leaf threw everything they had at the seemingly unstoppable force. That was when the Uzumaki clansmen proposed a plan to the Hokage...A way to seal the beast for good.
The plan was put into action, there were no other options. The Shinobi drew the beast as far out from the village as they could, and that’s when the trap was sprung. The Uzumaki members placed a sealing barrier around the fox binding it into one location and preventing further damage to the village. After the barrier was erected they tightened the barrier and managed to seal it within one of the ninjas present: Ren Uzumaki. The battle was over and Ren became the bearer of the Nine-Tailed fox.
It was only for a short time however. Ren only bore the spirit inside of her for a little under a week, the beast’s voice began to ring out in her mind, clouding her thoughts and causing her to feel it’s undying rage. It was clear that Ren’s older body wasn’t capable of holding the beast, like before it was slowly seeping out..They needed a younger body, someone to grow and adapt to the power of the Nine Tailed Fox. The decision was eventually reached to seal Kurama within a child, it was their best hope for keeping this destructive force under control.
Ren’s heart was heavy the day she offered up her daughter to be the Jinchuriki of Kurama. The girl had a special chakra that would allow her to host the beast with minimal complications, Her brother vehemently denied this and begged to be put in Kushina’s place despite Ren’s better judgement she allowed it. Kurama’s seal was transferred into her eldest son, consuming her life in the process. The sacrifice was in vain once Kurama’s chakra enshrouded the boy and started to destroy his body from the inside. The boy rampaged briefly across the village, before Kushina’s father and the remaining Uzumaki clansmen once again erected a sealing barrier and tore the beast from the son’s body. Finally the original plan was put into motion and Kurama was sealed within the baby Kushina where he remains to this day.
Kushina’s early years were filled with questions and sadness...Each time she asked her father about why she didn’t have a mother, or about the brother she supposedly had, her father refused to speak, in fact her father had all but shut down entirely. Kushina and her father’s relationship was strained from the very beginning, her father unable to look upon her, considering Kushina to be a reminder of everything he had lost to that beast that rested inside of her...And he wasn’t the only one to treat Kushina so terribly, the village itself seemed to despise her, rocks were thrown, horrible insults hurled at her, comments about her hair, about her worthlessness and something about a fox? Kushina was constantly isolated and picked on and while it hurt her, It also pushed her, it pushed her to try her hardest in everything she did. She became a kunoichi of her own accord, desiring respect and hopefully admiration from her peers. While the bullying never ceased Kushina became stronger, more resilient and turned her sadness into rage to fight back against those who sought to victimize her. Earning her the nickname: “The red hot-blooded Habanero” for her fits of rage. While Kushina comes across as tough, angry and willful she truly just desires friendship and acceptance, even going so far as to declare that she will become the next hokage...Becoming Hokage would surely mean she would be admired and respected right?
Her ninja training went well, she excelled when it came to Taijustsu however her ninjutsu was always lacking something, something that Kushina was never able to place. Now a part of the elite battalion she is thrilled to be able to finally gain the respect she so desperately wants, but also wonders why she was picked.

Water Trumpet: Kushina builds up chakra inside of her mouth, and unleashes it in the form of a highly pressurized shot of water. The blast is capable of knocking targets back with pure concussive force, while not to the point of breaking bones, it is a potent and quick technique and the easiest for Kushina to perform.
Shadow Clone jutsu: The ability to create autonomous clones. As of now Kushina can make up to two separate clones that can join her in combat. The clones can only withstand a small number of attacks before dissipating but are capable of anything Kushina, herself is capable of while present.
Water Prison: This jutsu is capable of entrapping a target within a solid construct of water, trapping them inside until the user’s chakra runs out or it is willingly dropped by the user of the technique. It takes concentration to maintain the prison.
Body-Flicker technique: The ability to move incredibly quick along the battle-field, something almost every ninja is capable of. The body flicker is incredibly versatile, allowing set up for ambushes, quick retreats or even just re-positioning.
Habanero’s Rage: Kushina funnels chakra into her fist, reinforcing her strike with a great deal of power, it’s something she’s rather well known for. It’s sheer concussive force almost outdoes her water trumpet.
Habanero’s Explosive Rage: A variant on her simple chakra infused technique. Kushina inscribes a seal upon her hand and punches her opponent once the fist makes contact the seal explodes violently. While not the smartest technique to utilize it’s something only an Uzumaki can reliably use within the field thanks to their bloodline’s durability, ensuring she can use it a few times and still remain standing.
Ninja Tool Assault: Another usage of her Fuinjutsu. Kushina places multiple ninja tools inside of a sealed scroll that she keeps on her person at all times, once the scroll is opened and the seal is activated...Ninja tools fly out of it, several kunai and shuriken rain from the scroll and attack indiscriminately in the direction Kushina points the scroll. A powerful secret weapon.
Sealing Barriers: By inscribing markings in the surrounding area, Kushina is capable of creating a barrier within said space. Sealing a small area and trapping combatants inside, or placing the markings upon an individual and trapping them inside a personal barrier. The larger the area that Kushina wishes to cover with her barrier? The more chakra is required to keep the barrier up. As of now larger barriers are difficult for her to pull off but smaller ones are quite feasible.
Adamantine Chains: A technique that Kushina still doesn’t entirely understand. Utilizing special seals placed upon her body, presumably by her parents, Kushina is able to manifest chains from these seals. The chains are capable of being manipulated by Kushina, she is able to use them defensively or offensively, however their primary use is for binding her opponents in place and leaving them vulnerable for attack.

Kushina is very much an up close and personal kind of fighter. Taijutsu is her strength and she utilizes it quite well. She engages the enemy with relentless pursuit and thanks to her bloodline, she is able to take a large amount of punishment and stay in the fight. Her jutsu helps her stay in a head to head battle, allowing her to reinforce her strikes, or create shadow clones to take the pressure off of her and add it to the opponent. While not the most graceful or agile, she is incredibly tough and strong and willing to take as many hits for her teammates as she needs to. She is capable of ranged combat, thanks to a few techniques she knows, but her main method of attack will always be dependent on her Taijutsu.
