It would take a bit of getting used to, but this outfit was oddly accommodating to the rigors of martial arts. The only real issue came from the boots, which needed some time to break in, as they were still rather stiff and inflexible right now. Aestella called for one of her girls to come and take your outfit to get repaired as she bowed to you once more.

“It should take us a few hours to finish your outfit. I wish we could start right now, however we still have many orders from the day before we need to work on. But I promise you your outfit will be done before the afternoon bell. Now then, is there anything else I can help you with “

Sylvia mentally noted the time and she answered her question, "No, I think that is it. Thank you so much! I'll come back after the afternoon bell has rung,"

She left the store while waving bye to Aestella.

After that, she decided to go Iola's next. She was curious as to what Iola had for her, and she also was curious about how the thief was holding up. She had a feeling that Iola wasn't going to have much mercy for him for his community service.

Just down the street was Iola’s shop, already busy with activity as men and women came to do business there. It seemed that the thief was currently tasked to do heavy lifting for the customers, hauling sacks of goods for them or carrying heavy tools. Iola herself was watching over him to ensure his compliance, too busy keeping a watchful eye on him as you enter the shop. It would seem however she had other family members to mind the place, including an older gentleman who presumably may be her husband, and a younger one who might be her son.

When the older gentleman spots you he waves you over. “Ah, you must be the newcomer my wife told me about. My name is Andras, Iola’s husband. I’m very thankful for what you’ve done for her, especially getting her father’s sword back. Truth be told if it had just been money she wouldn’t be so ornery right now.” He reaches behind the counter and brought out a long harpoon. “I’m the village smith. My pa before me taught me how to shape steel, and he’s the one who made that sword. Nowadays I mostly just make tools, but even I can make a weapon worth the crowns too! This harpoon is a Cassari specialty, light enough to throw a fair bit, but sharp and sturdy enough to slay even sharks! This one in particular is my best work yet.”

The harpoon had a mirror finish and the handle was made of a sanded, polished white hardwood. It was fairly long, almost as long as that skeleton’s Spear, yet when you pick it up it’s surprisingly light and very well balanced even for you.

A Cassari specialty. Designed to be able to pierce the thick blubbery hides of all manner of sea creatures, and equally as effective against landlubbers as well.

Sylvia approached and she couldn't help but feel a little sorry for the thief as he hauled the heavy sacks of goods or tools while Iola was barking orders. But it didn't last long as she spotted the older gentleman and the younger man. She approached when the older gentleman waved her over.

She nodded in affirmation when he commented that she was the newcomer, and she answered after he introduced himself, "I am. I'm Sylvia. It's nice to meet you,"

She listened as he spoke a bit, and she couldn't help but smile a bit at his thanks and the mention of how Iola was ornery right now. She looked at the harpoon as he explained that he was the village smith, and after he explained, she commented in awe, "Oh wow! This is very fine craftsmanship!"

“Ha ha! Glad ya like it. Feel free to take it if you’d like. I have a few more in stock, not quite as fine as this one, but for you I’ll let you take what you can carry! Considering it the reward me wife promised you. Originally she was just going to give you some extra coin, but I felt for what you’ve done, you deserve something more personal.” Andras examined you up and down, getting some ideas for what to make next. “From my understanding, you’re a traveler too, yeah? Though we stock general goods, I can help make you something for the trip. Anything you’d want, weapons, armor, or tools, and I’ll make the best you’ll ever lay eyes on.”

Sylvia nodded when he asked if she was a traveler too. She might not have previous experience traveling before, but she certainly is a traveler now. Especially considering that she is trying to figure out a way to go home. She did like the thought of having something crafted for her. She smiled and answered "That sounds great! Thank you!" She then thought out loud, still talking to Andras, "What to ask for though...? I'm definitely comfortable with using the staff, but it couldn't hurt to have a blade other than the throwing knives, and I've never even touched a sword before. Armor in general might slow me down, so I'm not sure about that. The only tools I'm good at using are cooking tools, and I can think about that later,"

She then realized she went on for a bit, and she apologized to Andras, "Ah, Sorry, I rambled a bit, didn't I?"

Andras just nods smiling. “Ah I understand, I ramble outloud when I’m thinking myself. Well, considering my harpoon, and your own skills, maybe ya don’t need weapons. And I can understand ya desire to go light without armor. Sure, useful when you’re in a fight but when you’re just traveling? Weighs ya down! Now cooking tools, I can do that. As my pa always said, ‘You march on your stomach’! Foraging and hunting will only get you so far.”

The smith turned to the other boy and told him to prep the forge before turning back to you. “So on top of my finest harpoon, I’ll make you your own cooking set! Built for travel, practically a mobile kitchen. I’ll even throw in some rations and spices my wife sells here. You won’t find anything that taste quite the same. How’s all that sound?”

Sylvia answered Andras, "Sounds good to me! Thank you so much, Andras," She then asked as she held the harpoon, "I'll put this in my room for safekeeping while I continue preparations. When should I come back for the cooking set?" She knows that the cooking set was not going to be instantly ready. Andras would need time to actually make it. So she thought it best to ask when the set would be ready.

“Sometime tomorrow morning most likely. Normally I work decently fast, but until my wife is done with her rampage, I gotta mind the shop.” On the distance you could hear Iola barking orders to the thief to do something or another. Andras just sighed. “She’ll be over it by noon I imagine. Now then, is there anything else I can get for ya? Plenty of supplies here.”

Sylvia couldn’t help but wince a little when she heard Iola barking at the thief. She joked a little, “Remind me not to get on Iola’s bad side,”
She then answered Andras, “Mind if I peruse a little? There may be something I’ll need that I probably didn’t even think of,”

“Of course, feel free to look.” Andras allows you to look around as he goes to deal with some other customers. The general store had many things from simpler textiles such as blankets and sacks, as well as various tools. Things such as pots and pans, shovels and knives, simple things. There were a few jars containing seeds as well as a few jars with some sort of strong smelling medicine. In a different corner had more adventure minded equipment: a barrel of swords, staves, and shortbows. There was also some armor in the form of padded clothing, still hefty however. In a carefully sealed glass container were clay flasks labeled “Dragon Spit”. Another display has black bottles called “Blast Flasks” and a warning sign to handle with caution.

Sylvia looked around at the items in Iola’s store. She didn’t think she needed any sacks or blankets right now, nor any pots, pans, shovels, or knives. She wondered what kind of seeds were in the jar, and what the medicine was for. Medicine might be the most helpful, just in case.

Then she reached the adventure section. She didn’t really need the weapons or armor. Then she spotted the flasks. What in the world was Dragon Spit? Was it actually Dragon Spit, or was it just some fancy name for something else? When she spotted the blast flasks, she thought about buying them, only to envision the flasks exploding while she used martial arts. So the blast flasks were a no...

She decided to ask Andras out of curiosity, “What does this medicine help with? And what is Dragon Spit?”

“The medicine is mostly helpful to stave off infections. You know, in case any fisherman gets a cut out in the ocean waves or gets stung by something. Keeps the bleeding down and helps the healing. Dragon Spit is a sort of alchemical mix, when the Flasks breaks the oils inside light on fire. Handy if we gotta fend off goblinss or burn a nest of surians. We mostly have them in stock for adventurers who occasionally come to resupply.”

"Hmmm..."

Sylvia had to admit. Both of those items sound pretty handy in case of an emergency. She had a feeling she might not be able to handle a huge crowd on her own, so it might be good to have a jar of Dragon Spit just in case, and the medicine might be good in case Pylia couldn't heal.

She asked Andras, "How much would it be for a jar each?"

“Jar of Dragon Spit is 30 gold each, and the medicine is 20 each. I should warn ya, the medicine is very stinky. Use too much at once and you might draw some unwanted attention!” Andras chuckled as he walked over to open the glass display.

Sylvia noted the warning and she answered "Thank you for the warning! I'll take a jar each," She fished the fifty gold out of the purse, and placed them on the counter. Not only would she have two handy items for her journey, but she would also be giving some money back to Iola, for her savings.

After purchasing the two items, she told Andras, "I think that's pretty much it. Thank you again, Andras. I really think these will help on the journey,"

“Of course lassie. Tis a shame you won’t be staying, but I understand you have places to be, things to do. I’m sure this has been said many times before but, if you ever need a home, Cassari will always be here for ya.” Andras says with a smile as he pats your shoulder proudly. More customers begin to enter the shop, forcing him to give you a brief goodbye as he tends to other customers.

It is still morning. Plenty of time to go about your business today. The two jars you’ve received were fairly small, small enough to fit in the sleeves of your new outfit or on the pockets of your backpack. There was still Yerro you can meet for his reward, as well as the temple for information about your arrival. Much of Cassar was still unexplored as well. Many roads to travel from here.

Dragon Spit

An alchemical Weapon build as an alternative to alchemist fire. Enemies within a 5-foot radius of impact must pass a DC 13 Dex Save or take 2d6 Fire Damage. Those who pass only take half.

Desiccated Herb Balm

A pungent balm made of dried herbs. Applying the balm takes one full minute. After applied you heal 2d4+2 health and cured of the poisoned condition.

With a thank you and a happy smile on her face, she left the store with a wave and a smile on her face. Somehow, it was relieving to know that if she needed someplace to go to, she can always come back to Cassari. She had a home base of sorts in this strange new world.

She decided that it was better to put the jars in the pockets of her backpack. She didn't want to risk having the jars tumble out of her jacket sleeves. She decided the next stop should be Yerro's before she goes to the temple. Couldn't hurt to pay a visit to the grocer.

Yerro’s shop was less busy than the general store. He had one family looking around, but otherwise it was very calm. Yerro himself was stocking his shelves with new produce. “Hello, welcome. Oh! The hero of the day! I see you e brought that dress Aestella had made! You look wonderful!” Yerro says with a smile as he wipes his hands. “I bet you’ve paid a pretty for that. Don’t suppose you have some coin left over to buy some food for your journey? Ha ha!”

Sylvia smiled when was she was recognized as Hero of the Day and she greeted Yerro in return. She answered Yerro after he complimented her and mentioned the money, “Thanks, Yerro. Aestella did an amazing job with the dress, I just had to buy it. I do still have some coin to stock up on food for the road, so no worries,”
