Don’t forgot a dex save. You probably won’t take much damage anyways, but it’s the difference between taking 8 or 16, and with how little HP you do have, it can still hurt if you fail!

Additionally I forgot one thing I may allow: you can try use your deflect arrows to change the course of fate. It’ll eat your reaction but you can roll high enough on the damage reduction die, it’s possible for you to not only intercept the knife (thus centering the explosion on you and not catch your allies) but possibly even catching the blade and throwing it somewhere else.

You’re looking for an 8 or better on your d10.

Guards are still alive (they’re well out of the blast radius), and with that you fail to deflect the knife, but you do manage to catch it in time to catch only you and Erendal. He’s as good as dead, but everyone else is safe. Using your previous dex and taking into account your fire resistance, you only take 8 points of fire damage.

Feel free to edit your post to reflect what just happened, as if you have seen fate and would go to defy it. It’s one of those moments.

It was Buddy who picked you up, he's carrying you into battle. Since you got the highest initiative you can go ahead and edit your post to reflect what you'll do. By the time you snap back to your normal self, you'll see Yorik being attacked by at least six kobolds armed with shortswords, and you can vaguely make out one dead kobold in the back, but you can't see Shortfang or Dinah due to the mill and various boxes being in the way. You're about 25 feet from the nearest kobold. The room is pretty cramp, but thanks to the kobold's small size two can easily fill a single space that would normally hold just one.
