Rhysan growls when the bugs fly off. After a while, news spread to the front line of the capture of the princess, and she paces her tent. She’d swatted off the healers in favor of space to think. She trains harder and harder, determined to get her friend back. She oversees extended training and preparation for her troops.

The princess threw a pillow at him.
"Then keep your distance! Do not touch me!"

[Shadow Dragon]

He catches the pillow, and tosses it aside. "I don't have to touch you to hurt you, princess." The insects in the room shudder. "I'm everywhere, and I see everything. You can't threaten me." He gives her a frigid smile, and spins his cane in his hands.

The princess glared. She knew that smile all to well. The villain who had tried to kill her father and marry her mother so that he could rule their land(s) had worn that same smile. She did not back down though. She stood her ground.
"I'm not afraid of you."

"You should be. For many reasons." He spins his cane. "I have something most other shifters do not." He chuckles.

Rhysan sighs, and after a lengthy debate, she heads for the castle to request heading an advanced covert operation to recover the Princess and perhaps gain info on the villains. After a few hours on a galloping horse, she reaches the castle and requests the presence of the king and queen.

The queen was sobbing. She had her face in her hands. The king had his arms around her. He was trying to comfort and calm his wife when the soldier requested an audience. He simply waved, indicating for her to enter the throne room.

"I do not care. I am not afraid of you."
The princess continued to glare. He was evil, she thought, and hoped that he was not evil enough to be like that villain that went after her mother that day.

[Shadow Dragon]

"You want me to give you a reason to be afraid?" His eyes ripple, becoming the black, compound eyes of a bug.

Rhysan removes her helmet for the first time all day and she kneels before the throne, her chin to her chest. “My sincerest apologies for disturbing you, Your Majesties, but I have a request to make of the utmost urgency. It pertains to your daughter.”

The princess sighed.
"I may not care too much for bugs, but I am not afraid of them. The only thing I fear is my people no longer being safe. I would do anything to ensure that."

The queen continued to sob. The king still had his arms around her. He looked at Rhysan as she took off her helmet. He simply nodded once.
"What is it that you are requesting?"

"You should be afraid of them. They could bring your country to ruin."

Rhysan looks up and into the eyes of the king with a level stare. “With your permission, I would like to gather a specialized group of warriors for a covert operation to find and retrieve your daughter, perhaps even learn more of the villains along the way. I am well aware of the many parties in search of the princess, but, with all due respect, many lack the experience and the stealth to catch the villains off guard, and quite frankly, have any chance of success beyond pure luck.”

The princess narrowed her eyes. That was when she noticed the state of the room. 'awfully nice and well kept for a room used for a prisoner of war'she thought. She then proceeded to glare daggers at the villain.

The king narrowed his eyes. He was doubtful.
"What makes you think that you will succeed where others have failed?"
He paused for a moment.
"You may try but no promises are to be made. My queen and I do not raise our hopes upward."

"In case you're wondering, your room is not a dungeon. I need any prisoners I capture to stay alive as long as possible. There are no ways out, other then the sheer drop out the window." He doesn't notice her death glare.

The princess continued to glare. she didn't believe him. She noticed the roses in the vase and the fresh clothes in the closet. She was very suspicious.
"oh, really...?"

Rhysan straightens and nimbly gets to her feet. “I have participated and been the second in command in numerous successful co-op missions, Your Majesty, and I already know who I will select.”

"You can jump if you want. I won't stop you." He gestures to the window, where he has a secret carpet of bugs, just out of site, to catch her in case she does try. "I don't think you will though. And you might be up here for quite some time."

'at least until I give in to whatever you desire, or so you must think'the princess thought. She frowned, narrowed her eyes, and sighed. She turned her back on him that time.

The king sighed.
"As I have said, you may try, but we shall not drag out any hope."
The queen simply nodded. She resumed her sobbing.

Rhysan stands with a nod. “Thank you for your time.” Without another word, she leaves. She sighs softly as she walks, knowing full well that for certain reasons it would be better for her to go alone.
