They arrive at their spot and see building materials, wood planks, canvas, and rope . " it says we need to make a shelter so all right guys there's seven of us so Mark and Sean you two make a raised platform as a floor then Ivan ,me and athelia can make the roof using upright wooden planks and the canvas sen and fen dig trenches around the shelter to collect water it looks like it's going to rain"

He walks back to his sleeping quarters.

Ro nods and leaves for a cottage close to a nearby church. She makes supper for herself and her father before going to bed. The next morning, she leaves bright and early for the ranger's cottage, arriving about half an hour before sunrise.

Athelis nods and picks some planks up and carries them on her shoulder before propping them up so she can measure and cut them.

Leon goes home and falls asleep the next morning he arrives at sunrise and sits by ro the ranger comes out a few minutes later

Bandon and Ivan help athelis as the rest of everyone does their assigned job

Ro looks up at Leon, a little surprised. She stands and dips her head in respect when the ranger approaches.

Athelis ties her hair back with a scrap of leather and she straightens when they finish the roof. "Next order, leader."

Leon looks at the ranger " hello apprentices come follow me inside " he says . Leon follows the ranger

Bandon looks at Athelis" for one call me bandon I'm only called "skirl" or "leader" as you like to say when we're on the ship" he says . Once everyone as completed their job he looks at them " ok now we will use the remaining canvas and wood to make walls "

The battschool master looks at all the cadets coming through the doors

Peyton walks in, and looks at the battleschool master, watching him warily. What's he thinking? Is he looking at all of us, or just me?

Ro follows Leon and the ranger.

Athelis nods once. "As you wish." She gets to work with the others to make walls.

The ranger looks at them and smiles a smile that doesn't reach his eyes " okay apprentices want to learn your first job? " leon frowns a bit " what is it? "

The battlemaster looks at all the recruits " okay recruits first step of business is find your dorms papers on the wall behind me! "

He walks over, and reads the paper.

Athelis may be the only girl, but she seems to be almost stronger than the others as she works, her brow furrowed in concentration. She stands back with her hands on her hips when they finish.

The ranger smiles " you get to do housework ,cook , clean , fetch the water " Leon looks dumbfounded

Bandon wipes some sweat off his brow " all right now choose a place in our new home to put your bedroll and things " he says to everyone

He begins walking down to his dorm, not sure what else to do.

Ro smiles and bounces on her toes a little before regaining her composure. "Yes, sir. Is there a specific order or are we left to our own devices?"

Athelis nods and looks around. She picks a corner and sets her bags down.

The ranger shakes his head " no not right now just clean up everything " Leon more sighing and gets to cleaning

Bandon picks a spot then looks at the list " ok tomorrow we will go to the courtyard I want to make sure our home is spotless and when we go there we line up in two neat organized lines and jog to the courtyard"

The battlemaster waits for the cadets to get back

Athelis looks over at him. "What is the order for the lines?"

Once every cadet is in the hall the battlemaster smiles " now you will get your equipment and begin to drill"
