Yes she can combine up to two different gem types but she has to use magic as a base to bond the gems together so most will be orange and something the only exception is white black gem since white gems are live/light gem they have Devine/ angelic magic while black has death/darkness which also has dark/ domestic magic so together they form a proper magic base basically having a yin/yang type of balance

Well I decided that Manta is casually going to use his psychic powers to have him and Danielle fly through one of his memories (flying through endless clouds and sky essentially) with a rainbow, then diving into the ocean and swimming through his homeland.

Basically she'll get a first hand look and he's going to essentially tell her that no matter what he sees, hears and experiences it'll never be enough and he'll always want more.
