Spartans are warriors, and value the beauty of Strength above all other virtues. In Sparta, when a child comes of age he is sent to the Agoge, a brutal school where they are taught to dominate, to kill, and to survive. This arena takes place in a special year. The king has declared a tournament in honor of the graduation class of the Agoge. Those who are young and wild will fight to determine the strongest among them. But also, those who are Veterans, Champions, Gladiators, or Civilians may fight to test their might against each other to become the next warrior of whom legends are written and songs are sung.
There will be tournament bracket for those who want to participate, expect it to be double elimination. The reward for winning the tournament is elevating your created hero to that of a seasoned champion and therefore adding 10 points to all stats!! Winners are decided by the GM until a panel of an uneven number of judges is able to vote on the winner.
Fights are going to be split up into how many posts you get to make before the fight is over.
_ SPAR FIGHT TOURNAMENT TO THE DEATH
6 posts total, 3 posts each. 12 posts total, 6 posts each. 20 posts total, 10 posts each. Until one of your characters die.
Spars and fights can happen in any situation the players want to create. The Tournament fight length is specific to the tournament rankings at the heart of this Arena story.
To The Death is a fight of unusual circumstance and so it is recognized here for when it is needed.
How hard you can hit. _ How fast you can move. _ The skill with which you fight. _ How much damage you can take. _ How long before you tire. _ How much you rely on emotion to give you strength. _ The gods are alive in Greece. One of them will bless you in your fight.
These stats are for narrative purposes; instead of there being a very black and white application of the numbers, you are responsible for incorporating the stat into your fight, and the round judge is able to use the stats to judge an outcome of a disputed action. This system works intuitively, so if it feels like it makes sense to you, then it should make sense to everyone.

Choose one God to honor per fight and receive their blessing. Gods are honored at the beginning so you can honor a different God each fight.
I am the God of gods! Call on my blessing once per fight to land a blow superior to all others! It will land with Power 10 fold of that of your normal power! This bounty is my gift to you, mortal. _ I have seen all the strategies of war and know all the wiles of man, call upon my blessing at the moment when you are about to take damage and negate that damage, my blessing may be used only once per fight, use it wisely. _ My blessing will make you loved by the crowd and imbue your strikes with beauty, call upon me and negate your opponents fury for a single moment of your choosing. _ I will bless your weapon or your armor, call upon me to turn a weapon with yours or deflect a blade with your armor and seize advantage. _ My feet fly swiftly from the Heavens to the Earth, I will grant you agility 5 fold your base stat once in a fight. _ Wisdom is to know and to plan, and Wisdom to you will be my gift. Call upon my blessing at the beginning of a match to see your opponents stats and then rearrange up to 20 points of your own stats as you will. Your stats will reset at the end of the match. _ I guard that which is unwanted, and justify that which others call reprehensible. Call upon my blessing once per match to cheat and not be caught. What that cheating looks like is up to you.
Private Message me for character approval before they are placed in the Char section. Fights will be held in the IC section. They will be planned first in the OOC and then executed in the IC. Once the post count for the fight is complete the fight will be reviewed by our Sponsor Moderator for sufficiency and then either a recognized Judge, or panel of Judges will determine the winner.
Spars and Fights do not count towards tournament wins, but they do count as fights. If your character dies in a fight you will have to create a new character for approval.
If you have any questions send me a PM and I'll be happy to work with you. I'm excited to get to fighting myself. Let's Do It!
