Chas wondered what the hell just happened. One moment Kay was in front of them, or was it Fee? He wasn't sure at this point then the next she was gone. John was far across the ground and Serena was enraged by the whole thing. It took him a couple of moments to snap out of his shock before running over to the ttwo of them to break them apart after Serena was wanting best the living crap out of John. "hey hey! Stop!! Fighting each other each other won't bring her back! Don't you get it, this mage probably wants us fighting each other over this. He had to have known what choices we were making or at the very least decided to use such actions against us. He saw how incredibly protective you both are of Kay and used it against you."he explained, half scolding them both and half trying to calm the two of them down.

Fee quickly withdrew into the back of Kay's consciousness when she realised they were caught and the whole thing had to have been a trap. With Kay coming to the foreground, she looked around and began to panic. It was dark and smelled of damp everywhere, bars all around her. "shit!" she cursed under her breath, she was in a damn cage like an animal. She stepped forward and went to grab the bars but instantly got burned making her stumble backward. "that cage is made of iron, so I wouldn't try touching it if I was you.. Not unless you wanna die and not come back. But I'd rather you didn't commit suicide as there's plenty of buyers out there for you" the old mage's voice echoed out from the dark, appearing in front of her. "you said you'd unhex John!" she snapped, "why the fuck are you thinking of John Kay?" she thought to herself. "ah that's right I did" the mage replied, pulling out a hex bag from his pocket and a lighter from the other and burning it to break the hex. "there, as promised. The hex on John Constantine is gone" he commented.

John held up his hand to Chas and said “she’s right mate...if I had been thinking it all through I would’ve told Kay to run back...not..,” suddenly his eyes glowed there gold color and he blinked, looking down at himself. Then he smirked. “Bloody fool...” Serena moved back and looked at him then said “he removed the hex...a little to full of himself I think...”

John looked at Chas and said “now we find her and I won’t be the one having to hold back...but how do we find her...” suddenly Serena’s shadow moved and Bane stepped out, shaking his fur out. “The reaper is still on the girls shadow. I have located them. A few miles from here. We should hurry before they move again” Serena nodded and turned to the men. “Coming or staying?” John nodded and said “I want a piece of this guy for myself...”

Chas didn't care if Serena was right or wrong, they couldn't afford to be fighting each other in his mind and he knew all too well how easy it was for John to blame himself for certain situations that happened and he didn't want this one to be another notch on the metaphorical list of 'screw ups John Constantine did even if it wasn't entirely his fault'. Seeing John's eye glow and his colour come back to his face and his demeanour come back to his usual borderline arrogant self, he just knew that could only mean that the hex was taken off of him. Did this other mage do it out of arrogance or did he do it because Kay managed to convicne him of it? He wasn't sure but he was damn glad he did as it meant John was fully back to himself and able to get Kay back.

John's confirmation of the removal of the hex was enough for Chas to nod, "Either that or Kay somehow managed to convince him to remove it" he suggested. "But either way I'm glad as it means our group is back to its full strength" he added, then let Serena and JOhn discuss out loud how to bring their phoenix back to wher she belonged. He looked over at Bane who came out of the shadows and listened to what he found out, relieved that he managed to find Kay and this mage that has well and truly pissed them all off at this stage. "Oh I'm coming along, I may not have magical powers but I know enough to try and get Kay out of wherever they are whilst you two deal with the mage" he explained.

THE GLIMMERED WAREHOUSE

Kay could only hope that the mage was telling the truth about removing the hex from John, and she could only hope that they were also coming to save her. The iron burn on her hand was hurting like hell as it tried to heal itself but was proving difficult due it to being the natural enemy of her kind. She was scared and alone and had no idea truly what this mage wanted from her. Then it dawned on her, he mentioned buyers... buyers for her. He was going to sell her off to the highest bidder like some circus act or something. "What did you mean buyers?" she demanded to know as she watched the mage begin to turn away from her. "Exactly that my dear. You're a rare commodity nowadays, practically a myth! So imagine my surprise when the downworld starts whispering around about a phoenix in our time and having demons after her. I must admit I didn't believe the whispers and merely dismissed them rumours stemmed from boredom at first, but then word was getting more and more frequent and I had to see for myself if it was true, especially said whispers linked you to that petty arrogant arsehole John bloody Constantine!" the mage began explaining. "Seeing you are very much the real and an absolute beauty I must add, it seemed only logical that to get enemies off my back and make some money in the process, whilst making those who want their hands on you, or more to the point your very essence, that if I could catch you, I'd sell you. Two birds one stone you might say" he continued to explain before laughing at his ironic metaphor.

"You're sick! I'm not some toy you can just sell! I'm a bloody human being!" Kay exclaimed back, going to the bars againand getting burned once more making her dart back quickly. "You're so much more than a human. And you're going to make a lot of money" he smirked.

Serena smiled then tilted her head. “That’s true…you don’t have a magic back up…and that won’t do anymore” she looked at Bane and said “mind grabbing my something for me?” Bane smirked and vanished. She looked back at the others and said “let’s get our girl back…Chas, you drive. I’ll guide you” they all headed for the tax, John rolling his neck and his aura coming off him in waves. He was truly pissed now.

Chas smirked at how at ease Serena now felt to be able to almost banter with him and John even when the stakes were high for them. It showed that she was getting more comfortable with them, especially when she called Kay their girl. With it decided, he nodded feeling more than happy to drive them all in the taxi, "You got it, lets go" he said, pulling his car keys out of his jeans pocket and headed to the taxi only a matter of a few yards away from them and in view. He unlocked the doors and got into the driver's side, not minding which of the other two got in the front and who got in the back, he just wanted to get going. When he could see they were both ready and in safely, he started driving out of the mill house area and onto the main road, following Serena's guide as he went.

THE GLIMMERED WAREHOUSE

Kay started pacing when she saw she wasn't going to get much more out of the mage, pissed off at what he was telling her and what he was going to do with her. She could feel the heat coming off the iron bars whenever she got too close to them and it was bordering on making her weak, she felt completely helpless and didn't know how she could possibly get out without help. Sheended up sitting down on the ground of the cage, pulling her knees up close to her chest and wrapping her arms round her legs.

Serena got in the front as John slid in the back and started working on a spell of his own as Serena had them follow the shadow leading them to the warehouse. Serena glanced back snd saw Kohn with his eyes closed. “What is he doing?”

John was muttering under his breath, his hands cupped as magic gathered there.

When the mage wasn’t looking, her shadow moved slightly and wrapped around her hand. She heard a soft voice saw “mistress is coming…hold on…”

Chas focused solely on driving and following the shadows, being careful to not lose sight of them, finding they were the strangest GPS he's ever followed but welcomed it none the less. At Serena's question, he took a glance in his rearview mirror before looking back at the road. "He's working on a spell for the incoming fight. It's best to just let him get on with it and ignore him." he explained.

She glanced down at her wrist and saw a shadow that felt so familiar, was this one of Serena's shadows? Her query was only confirmed when she heard the voice. "They need to hurry..I don't wanna be sold" she muttered to the shadow under her breath, making sure to be as quiet as possible. She didn't want to be caught with the shadow or seeming like she was talking to herself. The longer the mage wasn't paying attention to her the better, but that also sent anxiety through her as she didn't know who he was conversing with if it wasn't her. She had every right to be worried as well, the mage was inviting the demons and any other downworld creature that would benefit from her over to take a chacne in buying her.

Serena nodded and rolled her neck to get ready herself. “I want to…but John is going to wipe the floor with this guy isn’t he?” John opened his eyes and they were glowing gold now. “Let’s get there…I sense demons are coming as well. Chas? It may come down to getting the girls out and leaving me in there to handle all of them in one shot…”

They pulled up and Serena jumped out, makis sure to close her door quietly. “You boys ready?”

Chas didn't want to answer the question that Serena was implying and asking him but he nodded once, knowing that after being hexed to get Kay and depending on what happens in there, John very much would go to any lengths to bring Kay home. He glanced in the rear view mirror as John opened his eyes and spoke to them both. "you got it John, just don't do anything too stupid mate" he replied back to him before finding out that they were at their destination. At first he couldn't see why they were brought to where they were, but then it dawned on him the mage has probably cloaked the warehouse to some extent. He cut the engine a d took the keys out of the ignition, making sure to safely stash them away in a pocket that as easy to get into incase they needed a quick getaway. Getting out the taxi, he too closed the door quietly and looked out at the warehouse as if it was visable, "yeah let's get her bsck before it gets real bad" he agreed.

Kay kept trying to listen to the mage's voice that was almost echoing slightly throughout this abandoned warehouse, so she couldn't fully place exactly where he was. But she did hear soon enough a second voice talking with him. Eventually he and the second face came into view in front of her making her scurry back in her cage as if it would help her. This was no human figure with the mage, but a full blown demon. A demon that looked like something typically from a nightmare or horror film. "You've done well to get her. How many others are coming?" it asked, "another three. But I know your boss The First wants her the most, so I reckon we can come to some kind of agreement for the right price" the mage explained, smirking at how scsred Kay was beginning to look. "please hurry John, Serena and Chas.. I don't wanna be taken to Hell" she thought to herself.

Serena and John ran for the doors, Serena pulling a pistol from her shadow and tossing it to Chas. “Now you have some kind of defense...it’s a blessed pistol. Magically inherited. Just aim and shoot” John moved to a window and looked inside and frowned. “Seals...I see Kay. The mage and a demon...looks like his the only one though...Serena?” Serena nodded and her eyes glowed silver.

“Let’s go...” she turned and blasted the door with shadows, flooding the building to make it pitch black. John ran forward, a shadow guiding him to the cage.

Chas grabbed the pistol from the air with ease, it not being the first time he had to do such a thing. He looked it over, checked the magazine, took the safety off and then clocked it. "got it. Not my first rodeo with a handgun" he replied heading to the door with Serena to give her cover when they head inside. He let John head to the window and check inside carefully without being caught in the process. With the go ahead, he let Serena blast the doors open and wasted no time in heading inside with Serena.

Kay looked up when she heard what seemed to be the doors blasting open and the whole warehouse being shrouded in darkness. She saw the demon and the mage get stunned and put off guard by the sudden change in circumstances but she knew exactly who it was. She scrambled onto her feet and got as close to the cage as she could without causing herself harm. The mage and demon got aggrivated instantly, "what kind of game are you playing mage?!" the demon growled, "not me! It's her friend and that bloody Constantine!" the mage cursed.

Chas crept through the darkness and found a cover spot that gave him perfect sight for shooting at both the mage and demon. He gave a signal to Serena and to John to show he was ready for when they were.

John made it to the cage ans started to pick the lock and said “Kay love? Can you move towards me?” Serena was right behind the pair without being seen and said in a voice that echoed all around “you have angered the gods, mortals…”

She wanted to scare the crap out of the mage, returning the favor. She waved her hands and wolves appeared and circled the pair, all being seen were the silver eyes.

John finally got the lock and opened the door, the shadows moving back so Kay could see John. He smiled and held his arms out. “Hello darling”

Chas remained back for backup just incase either the mage or the demon would attack and get ahold of Serena. He knew that if Serena got hit by a demon's claw it would be bad news for her, that very few people ever survived a slash from a demon and the last thing they needed right now was both girls in trouble.

The mage and demon looked around following the silver eyes that circled them both whilst listening to the voice of Serena. The mage didn't scare easily but he was unnerved by what was happening. The demon wasn't scared at all, having seen a lot worse than this. "Child's play!" The demon exclaimed, "if you're not a coward you'd show yourself!" he demanded. Hearing this demand, CHas hoped Serena wouldn't fall for the bait, "dont do it Serena" he whispered.

Kay heard the lock being messed with and she thought the worse, instantly stepping back out of self defence but when the shadows lightened enough for her to see it was infact John breaking her out, she never felt so thankful to see a friendly face. "John" she said greatfully, running into his arms and gripping onto him. "you came for me" she said almost surprised.

Serena laughed and the wolves started to run around them and said “you think I’m a child? Well, your partly right. I am a child of the gods…I serve them to the fullest…I rid this world of the scum and dirt…which includes you two” she stayed hidden, moving around without being seen. She knew how to fight to her fullest.

John hugged her tightly and said “of course I did love…we all did. I told you no one was going to harm you again…” he picked her up and walked out, heading for the doorway and said “Serena?”

Serena appeared next to them and said “what’s the plan? Leave them in the dark or…” John faces said otherwise and Serena nodded. “Got it” she lead them to the doorway and whistled “Chas!”

The demon just smirked as he listened to what they were being told. This was becoming very interesting indeed in its eyes. "seems there's one other that would be of great interest!" he smirked to the mage. As the wolves ran round them, the demon tried lashing out in the hopes he would slow their attacker down in some way. "and compared to how long I've been around you're all mere children!" he then said back at Serena.

Kay didn't want to let go, nodding in his grip as he reminded her of his promise to her. She let him pick her up and gripped onto him so she wouldn't fall, for the first time since she had to save those people finally feeling safe. She said nothing when he called for Serena, seeing her appear seemingly out of nowhere but no Chas to begin with. She k ew none of them were going to let the mage and demon just get away and right now she didn't care.

At the sound of his name being called Chas went over to Serena, "so what's the plan? That bloody demon is still yapping to thin air as if you're still there" he said to her. He then put the car keys onto Kay's lap, "John get her to the car" he instructed.

John looked at Chas and moved her to his arms and said “get her out of here Chas…Serena will cover you…” Serena saw the look in his eyes and said “you got it John…” she lead the pair out, smiling that the demon was falling for her shadow wolf trick. Nothing was even there.

John pulled a cigarette out and lit it, the shadows moving to show him before the other two. He glared at them and said “now you bloody dicks get to deal with me…ready to see why I’m called Hellblazer?”

Serena got the pair outside and shut the door, knowing what John was about to do. “Get her into the car. I’ll try and secure the warehouse…”

Chas was surprised that John just made him carry Kay as he honestly thought he saw some sense in just leaving. Retrieving Kay was the priority but it seemed both Serena and John had other ideas. He knew there was no point in protesting this even though it was clear that Kay wanted nothing more than to protest the actions. "you better return in one piece" he warned his mate before leaving the warehouse, letting kay hold his keys for the taxi. At the taxi, he put Kay down onto her own two feet, took his keys from her and unlocked the taxi, gesturing for her to get into the taxi when Serena said as much, "are you seriously letting him do this?!" Kay protested, "Kay just get in the car, he knows what he's doing." Chas told her, pointing toward the open back seat door. Kay wanted to continue questioning this stupid plan but she felt it was pointless and got into the taxi, where Chas then closed it behind her. Kay folded her arms across her chest in annoyance.

The demon laughed at how John was acting and the mage looked relatively unobased at first. "we know why you got that nickname. Not to mention the tag 'the arse hole in a trench coat'. But I'm more than prepared to drag you down to Hell earlier than planned" the demon said to him. The mage got ready for a fight even though it wasn't his favourite thing to do. It was then he glanced behind him at the cage and saw it was now empty and open. "you son of a bitch John!" he sneered.

John put the lit cigarette in his mouth and said “I was trying to quit the smoking...but thanks to you bolks I will have to start all over...” he pulled from his pocket the sphere of magic he had been working on in the cab. “Now this little beauty is a spell I made up during my younger years...back when I had no fear and no rules...this baby is made to wipe out the nasty things...and all I need is a seal...oh look.

The shadows moved suddenly and the pair were surrounded in a seal that Serena’s shadows had made in the darkness. “A lovely seal right there...that way I don’t blow up the whole block...a cylinder up and down...I’ll take you two straight to hell myself...” he threw the ball into the circle and it floated above the pair as it started to get bigger now. John put his hands in his pockets and said “any last word? You can’t break the seal in time before that blows...but if you end up in hell in enough pieces to speak...tell everyone down there that the Phoenix is under the protection of the hellblazer and the her shadow guardian...”

Serena waited inside the door, her shadows wrapping around the walls to make sure the magic didn’t go past that point.

Both the mage and the demon watched on as John rambled on about trying to quit smoking, both wondering where he was going with this chat. As he spoke about the sphere and sending them both to Hell they both in unison went to go for him but John was just too quick for the two of them. The shadows moved and revealed they were trapped in their magical cage consisting of the sigil on the floor. Looking up they saw it was only a matter of time before they were both go era of this earthly plain, instantly sneering and practically growling at John. "you son of a bitch John! When your time is up and you're down there eith us? Expect some bloody payback... Literally!" the mage sneered.

Kay found herself looking at her hands at the iron scorch marks in the shape of the cage's poles. She never realised just how vulnerable she was to the metal having before just tried to brush it off as myth or over exaggeration, yet it seemed it was very much real and true. Looking back out the car window she watched onto the warehouse hoping both Serena and John would come out unharmed and safe. She didn't want either of them feeling drained or weak because of her. They had done that enough times for her now. Chas was still out of the car, leaning against the passenger door to watch on and make sure Kay didn't attempt to leave the car.

John smirked and said “when I’m down there…he’ll won’t know how to handle me…” he snapped his fingers and the sphere exploded, the seal glowing and flashing brightly as it tried to hold the blast in. But it was cracking and John cursed, moving in the way and throwing up a new shield as he yelled “Get out of here now!”

Derek ran forward and tackled John, the blast washing over them and hitting the warehouse walls. Outside it sounded like a bomb went off. But then the smoke started to clear. Inside the warehouse was destroyed, Serena and John on the floor under a metal beam out cold.
