Just be glad you don't have the Slaad tadpole in ya. That's a chest burst and insta-death for your character.

Also the ice knife murders are all around the Ten-Towns where humanoid sacrifice is done, not just Easthaven.

No much more terrifying. Slaad are extra-planer and only reproduce by leaving an egg in a host that they attacked. There are different colors, each with different ranking and can create different colors based off of a host being a caster of a certain level.

After looking at that and then my MM 2e, they are still pretty dangerous in both, but 2e just a slight more dangerous because of spells.
I did notice white and black slaads are not in 2e.

Did you want Jitter to roll to figure she might be talking about Chwingas?

@Lurking Krog

Kythor's going to head over to the window that was mentioned, the one that these spirits seem to prefer, and he's going to try to examine it to the best of his ability. He'd like to check for tracks, but he'd also like to make sure there's nothing unusual with the window itself, like a loose hinge or some other design flaw that would cause it to open abruptly for seemingly no reason.

That's more of an investigation check for checking the window.

You rolled high enough though you do notice tiny tracks leading away from the home to a thicket nearby.

Got a 20! Good thing, too - this kind of stuff's right up Kythor's alley.

(now watch as I proceed to roll a nat 1 on my next ability check I have proficiency in)

If Kythor looks through the thicket he will see three chwingas with the missing cutlery around a pinecone and some leaves. One is holding a knife the other a fork, they all appear to be pretending to eat.

I didnt roll Deception because Jitter isnt trying to deceive them, he is trying to befriend them and give them something to eat.. 🤓
