Remembering our kiss earlier today while we were in the nature preserve on the bench, I move the hand on her waist to the small of her back to pull her more into my lap. Usually by the second date, I know if I want a relationship to last or not. This is one that I absolutely want to last as long as possible.

The smile stays on my face. “The Kleine Katze doesn’t scare me.” I declare before I pull Caden into his bedroom and shut the door behind me.

“Okay, maybe a little bit.” I say, remembering how much she had scared me with making herself bleed in the library.

A little thrill goes through my body when Nic gently guides me to move closer to him. I oblige him, knowing it is something I wanted right now. I wouldn’t give all of myself to him, not yet, not until I talked to him about my past and my family, but this I could do. This was fun.

I pull back from the kiss just enough to move onto Nic’s lap properly. I rest my hands on his shoulders, pulling myself closer before I kiss Nic again. My hands slide up to rest on either side of his neck, my fingers interlocking at the back of his neck.

I chuckle, letting Nero pull me along. Once we are back in our bedroom, I put my hands on their waist, letting them continue to guide me. I’d follow them anywhere they wanted me to go.

”Good. You should be a little scared of her,” I say. ”She’s the most powerful sorcerer I know. And I’ve been around for a while.” I lean in and kiss Nero’s neck, then their cheek.

I’m glad she doesn’t stop me from pulling her closer, but I’m pleasantly surprised when she sit in my lap properly and kisses me again. Her hands move to my neck and just the slight brush of her fingers raises goosebumps on my skin. The hand that had been cupping her cheek moves into her hair, only slightly tanging her gorgeous locks around my fingers.

I squirm from the kiss on my neck, but lean my head back to look at Caden. “As long as I get to keep you around, I don’t mind who I have to prove myself to.” I say, genuinely meaning it. I’ve even considered maybe letting Cassi unlock all my memories at once so I could know for sure what happened in my past, but part of me doesn’t think I could actually endure it.

Not needing much more of an invitation, I respond to Cass’ tongue almost immediately, darting mine out to meet hers. I can taste the tea she had been drinking and I almost smile when I taste raspberries again. It makes complete sense that she tastes sweet.

I giggle when he picks me up, still elated that I enjoyed the way he could easily sweep me off my feet. I grin at his words before he kisses me, a small chill running up my spine from his small possessiveness of me. Moving my arms to wrap around his neck, I kiss him back.

I can feel my magic pushing against the magical walls I have in my house, wanting to be released from the emotions coursing through my body. They are simple little touches or responses that I am getting from Nic, but they bring me such pleasure and joy.

I unlock my hands from Nic’s neck, leaving one there while I use the other to run my fingers through his hair. I can’t get over how soft his hair is or how well he takes care of it and himself.

Nero’s giggle sends shivers through my body. It sets my heart and mind racing, thinking about all the other things I could do to them to get them to giggle or moan from the joy I bring them.

I shiver from her touch, loving the feel of her fingers in my hair, before I go ahead and tangle my tongue with hers. At the back of my mind, a small voice tells me not to go too fast, not to risk this relationship by rushing it. I ignore it for now, content that if Cass isn’t pulling away, then I was good to continue.

After a few minutes, though, my hand on her back is moving to rest on his hip. I pull away to catch my breath, resting my forehead on hers as my eyes watch hers. “We should probably stop here.” I say, my voice a little hoarse. Of course, I don’t want to stop, but going too fast seems counter-productive if I want this to last.

Briefly, I open my eyes to look at him and I smile against his lips, truly happy that he enjoys my giggle. “I love you.” I reply before I move into a comfortable straddling position in his lap. When Nic pulls back from the kiss to catch his breath, I nearly whimper. I bit the bottom of my lip to keep from doing so. His words take me half a minute to fully process. I breathe deeply, willing my heart rate to slow, and nod.

”You’re right,” I say. There is obvious chemistry between us. My hip is on fire from his touch and my lips tingle still from his kiss. With that knowledge, there is no need to rush, and I find I don’t want to rush into anything with Nic. Still, this little make-out session was a lot of fun.

I pull back, looking down at Nic for once since I’m still sitting in his lap, and I smile. ”You look different from this angle,” I tease him.

I laugh, but it quickly fades out when Nic runs his thumb across my bottom lip. My eyes turn molten as they follow his, and I have to close my eyes for a minute to keep myself from biting his thumb and running my hands down his chest.

”As much as I am enjoying this. I think I need to let you go,” I tell Nic. My voice sounds a little different to my ears since it sounds like I am underwater. My magic is pounding on the walls to let go, and I’ve never been more glad I set up magical barriers to dampen my power while I’m at home.

Returning her smile, I grab her hand but I barely use her to stand up from the couch, instead pushing up with my other hand. “It’s a curse, really.” I joke regarding my charm, but I can’t resist hers much either.

“If you want, I can pick up something for you on my way from Caden’s place tomorrow, just let me know what kind of drink you’re craving, okay?” I feel a paw on my shin and I reach down to give Wayland some love before I leave.

I smiled when Nic kissed my cheek good night, rather than my lips. Not that it mattered, but I still thought it sweet. I waited until Nic was in the vehicle and driving away before I closed my door and locked it.

I leaned against the back of my door for a minute and sighed, brushing my fingers along my bottom lip while I remembered the sensation of his lips and thumb there earlier. Shaking myself out of the memory, I busied myself with cleaning up and getting ready for bed.

I feel like I’m on cloud nine as I drive back to my place. Not only did Cass like me back, she also wanted to share more about herself with me. I remember at Caden’s dinner how she seemed closed off and unwilling to share anything about herself. I grin to myself, excited to see her again tomorrow. Once I make it home and I’m safe inside, I text her.

I grin at her response. My dad is asleep on the couch, the TV still on. I snap a picture of him before I grab a blanket and a pillow. I head into my room and grab my gym bag to put clothes into for the morning. I’m glad you enjoyed it - I had a lot of fun too. Also thanks for comforting my dad earlier I send the picture of him sleeping, his face very relaxed as he snored.
