the beginning of the end, and the end of the beginning. | ♫
TWENTY YEARS AGO, THE WORLD CAME TO A CRAWLING HALT.You are among the first generation of a new, post-apocalyptic world. Your parents had struggled against all odds to stay alive against the infected, and as the years passed, they found each other in a close-knit community they now called home.
And there, they had you. The firstborn among the dead.
Your childhood wasn't like any other. It was a tale of survival, whether it be against the rotters or a bad harvest. All you had known growing up were the walls that surrounded you; protected you. The outside world had been a myth, with memories that you would never be able to experience.
And yet, the universe beyond the safety of the walls called out to you. You desired to walk the halls of long-forgotten buildings. To see the sights of ruined, bombed-out skyscrapers. You were certain the old world surely had to have something still left to offer; that it wasn't just the desolate and abandoned past you were always told.
Gathering up some supplies, weapons and some friends, you've decided to take the universe up on its offer. Nothing was bound to stop you—save for maybe the dead eager to rip your insides out and eat you alive.

roleplay/ooc information. | ♫
So, this roleplay is sort of a "soft-reboot" of an old roleplay concept I once helped co-GM many, many years ago. Think of this as a "coming-of-age" story, but rather than the traditional backdrop, the roleplay is set in a zombie apocalypse. The cast in question will be between the ages of 18-20, with no character being older or younger than that range. Each character has grown up with each other, guarded by the safety of the walls that protect your community. Although I have a plot ready-to-go, I will be allowing player input to decide where this community is, and so if you have a locale in mind, please feel free to post your opinion.
Posts will be expected once a week or so. They don't have to be particularly long, but they need to be of substance. In other words, this isn't a place for one-line responses. Short responses are okay here and there, but replies such as "Jenny smiled at him." are unacceptable for this format.
Cast size for this roleplay will likely be kept small. I'm thinking no more than probably eight characters at best. This roleplay will focus more so on the cast rather than the backdrop, so I don't want to have an excessive cast that makes it difficult to focus on the smaller aspects. This in turns means that if you do plan on joining this roleplay, please do stick around for the long haul. I don't want to feed half the cast to zombies or something just because people grew bored with the roleplay.
If anyone has any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to ask.
