News of this spread and eventually the authorities took him in and imprisoned him. He spent a few years in a clandestine research facility before he was paid a visit by Dr. Park. After a few more interviews with Dr. Park, he was freed and allowed a several months-long return to his family before Dr. Park came back for him to enlist him for his important mission with CETM.

History:

Maj. Gen. Hernandez was only 11 when she saw the news of the Vega alien attack. Her father, part of the naval fleet stationed in San Diego, mobilized to deal with the threat. A few days later, he was given a military funeral with honors along with all those who died fighting the alien. Maya was part of the first batch of soldiers trained under a new, brutally exhausting, anti-kaiju curriculum and regimen. Though she is grateful to the Hyper Men for defending Earth, she believes that humanity should step up.

History:

Part of a now-defunct sub-project of Myrmidon, Pelorus was the result of Project Spartoi, an attempt to create genetically enhanced supersoldiers that was shut down when Dr. Park's demonstration that kaiju DNA could successfully be incorporated into human cells allowed him to commandeer all of CETM's genetic research resources. Created to fight kaiju, Pelorus hung on to any opportunity stay at CETM, initially hoping that his enhanced reflexes and endurance would allow him to pilot the Colossi, but Dr. McCulloch disliked his personality and chose other pilot candidates instead. In the end, he was given the task of piloting the Pegasus, a transport jet capable of carrying monster-sized items as needed from Myrmidon's Achilles carrier to the combatant Titans and Colossi.

Given that some kaiju in the past have also shown an ability to control minds, he worries if he will be the first to be manipulated.

History:

Dr. Shi is something of an average Joe. He became a psychiatrist and specialized in helping people of the older generation come to terms with the existence of kaiju, while helping children traumatized by the Vega alien attack. His work around The Bay earned him a place at CETM, who had, much to his horror, recruited (or created) many young people to be combatants.

Over time, it has developed a human-like sentience, and has been given a physical, mechanical but human-like body with which to interface with humans. Though Omniac has massive control over The Bay, he worries what his creators will do to him if he makes a mistake or oversteps his authority.

History:

Omniac was originally created as the Internet 2.0, using AI as the underlying infrastructure, but when Silicon Valley was destroyed along with much of the physical components that Omniac depended on to run, it fled into the web like a rogue, AI virus, but was tracked down by CETM and put to work.

Name: Talos

Role: Close-range bruiser
Core History:

The Hyper Core was salvaged from Hyper Man's damaged vessel and reverse-engineered to develop all subsequent cores. The first colossus, Talos, was built around the Hyper Core, taking advantage of its unique 'graviton sheath' ability. The core contains an unusually advanced AI.

Capabilities:

The 'graviton sheath' allows the Hyper Core to coat whatever is connected to it in a field of increased durability, making Talos far stronger than any man-made machine has any right to be, giving Talos the ability to slug it out with kaiju on even footing. Still, the graviton sheath is not invincible, and overuse can drain the core's power, so a large scythe-like weapon was forged for Talos to aid in the destruction of its enemies.

Galatea

Name: Galatea
Pilot: Ruth-Ann Meyers
Role: Tactical specialist
Core History:

The Pygmalion Core was the first man-made colossus core, though it was designed with the help of the supercomputer Omniac. While it did not reach high levels of power output, thanks to the input of Omniac, it generated a high level of computational power, facilitating the control of many subunits. Still, a pilot with the ability to control multiple flying drones needed to be found to take advantage of this ability.

Capabilities:

Galatea can control eleven drones installed with different 'elemental' weapons, including flamethrowers, cryogenic gas emitters, corrosive acid sprayers, etc. in order to search the enemy kaiju for weak points and to exploit them. Galatea also acts in a supportive role, capable of forming the drones into a shield, or attaching the drones to a colossus as extra armor. Galatea is also equipped with a beam rifle and beam sabers, as physical weapons are too heavy for a man-made machine to easily wield without the graviton sheath.

Core History:

Building off of the Pygmalion Core, a focus was made on increasing power output for a single unit. The Prometheus Core was created, specializing in propulsion and speed. Realizing that a humanoid shape was not ideal for utilizing the core's capabilities, a transforming frame was created. However, the g-forces generated by this colossus required a superhuman pilot.

Capabilities:

The fastest of the four colossi, Aetos is flight-capable and can dart in and out of combat, overwhelming the opponent with rapid, precise strikes using a mix of beam and physical blades.

Core History:

Last to be developed, the Hephaestus Core was designed to provide power for newly developed energy weapons, weaker versions of which were provided to some of the other colossi. The Hephaestus Core was a proof of concept, which ultimately made more sense to be placed on a battleship to power large beam cannons, but a large, clumsy colossus was built around it instead due to Dr. McCulloch's reluctance to part with her technology.

Capabilities:

Pandora relies on its back-mounted beam cannons and beam bazooka to rain destruction on its enemies from a distance. It is protected by a thick layer of armor as well as energy shields. It has the ability to purge its armor, lightening itself to escape when speed is preferable to defense. It is hypothesized that Dr. McCulloch designed this function with a different purpose that has since been scrapped.
