Personality:3D is said to act the same as Yang and seems calm and collected in some situations however she is apt at times to be aggressive and hostile. She tends to say Dude sometimes and can be blunt and to the point in her words and actions. Sometimes anothers thoughts can come out of her which she will plainly deny...

Abilities/Weapons:.Retains the same skills as Yang tho her hands and body can produce spikes. Seems to be able to slowely regenerate from a wound tho she preferrs not to for a unknown reason

Backstory: 3D is in actuality a entity. In the choose your own adventure game on tumblr AU called Escape from Beacon the setting is grimmdark where Beacon is haunted by beings known as Entitys. Some are hostile tho she and another named King seem friendly enough. Other entitys attacked and some major character died. In 3Ds case it is thought in action 29 of the story she is actually Yang but by action 59 it is revealed she is a entity suspected of possessing Yang and making her nonexistent but it is hinted Yang's true soul may be corrupted by this being and is slowely driving her into madness. However her desire is to be Yang..to be human. She simply wants to exist and also displays love for Ruby and Blake..Another hint is she mentions at one point after being injured that Blake did a good job almost killing Yang. Later she said "You kill me..you kill her..."

... Okay, um... honestly I don't feel this fits the game at all to begin with and while I will accept AU material I do not feel the same way about what is effectively fanfiction on tumblr.

Not to say that fanfiction is bad or anything, it just enters a bit of a different area. I don't want to have to look into established fanfiction to judge if a character is acceptable.

As I said, I don't want to have to track down fanfiction in order to fully judge a character. An OC or AU character contains the information I need in the bio, and it's easy enough to look up information on a canon character if I need to.

It's a bit more difficult with fanfiction.

Then just ask White Snow to provide more information on said character. He/she obviously knows enough of the fanfiction if he/she's going to enter a character from it.
At the moment that's the solution that crops to mind.

That still runs into the potential issue of people omitting information and stuff like that which I might want to know about a fanfiction, and if it's a more obscure one it would be difficult to track down.

... Though to be honest, I... find a lot of the themes involved with the character really disturbing which is why one of my objections was to the character fitting into the RP.

Mind control and things related to it I won't allow, and that's one of the reasons for it. While this lacks some of the problems of mind control, it's... still very disturbing in a similar way.

Hmm understandable, we're here to RP with a happy thoughts and not depressive one

I don't mind serious stuff, and occasional dark elements may show up(nothing too extreme though).

However, overall the RP is meant to be fairly serious when it comes to plot and action and such, but much more comparable to a lighter-toned series then anything that would ever be described as "grimdark".

... And honestly, I don't exactly like lot of things people would call "grimdark".

"Grimdark" kind of comes across as kind of a derisive term to me since it sounds kind of like it implies darkness that's so over-the-top there's no reason to care but I guess I shouldn't get too into that.

Basically the character doesn't seem workable for multiple reasons.

Appearance: Bob is tall (about 3 metres), has an insectoid body with compound eyes and two long antennae on his head. He has a human nose and mouth, but those are purely cosmetic. Several multicoloured energy fields shaped like butterfly wings extend from his back, with the largest "pair" about one metre wide. They change colour constantly.

Universe of Origin: Original setting
Personality: Bob is optimistic and friendly, and strives to help others as much as possible within his capabilities. He enjoys research, exploring and discovering new things. He believes in being prepared for any eventuality, and has prepared a cache in his house with various items he might need, ranging from rope and a flashlight to spare pens and notepads. At times, he can be nosy and occasionally pry too much into others' private business, but this is more a result of not fully understanding why they prefer to keep those things to themselves. Not being human himself, he finds people fascinating and often observes their interactions with interest.
Abilities/Weapons:
-As a hyper-butterfly, Bob survives off sunlight and radiation (in outer space), removing the need for air, food or water.
-He can open small portals to any location he is familiar with using his wings; he usually uses it to retrieve items he needs at that time from a cache in his house. With practice he could open larger portals, but he has not considered this yet.
-Bob's wings also allow him some control over matter and entropy. This includes affecting intermolecular bonds, altering phase states of various substances and "rewinding" the physical state of objects. However, he needs line of sight in order to do these, and he cannot affect living things (except himself). Also, he can only "rewind" an object to its state from a few seconds ago. He has less experience with this aspect of his powers, only using them to speak (by vibrating air molecules).
Backstory: Bob's home planet had a human majority and a small population of hyper-butterflies. As a child, he looked human and was adopted by human parents. He made friends easily in school until his insect-like features and powers began to manifest, which caused most people to shun him. After graduating, he joined a research institute studying their abilities. His mentor thought that the hyper-butterflies' powers made use of parallel universes, and enlisted Bob's help in opening a portal to an alternate reality. Instead, they found the multiverse.

It sounds to me like he can do basically anything to any matter. (minus living) Changing matter on an atomic level? That can easily create a nuclear bomb.
