London, England. August 18, 1942
She landed on the roof, her cloak of shadows wrapped around her like a cloak. Something wasn't right about this. Her contact should have been here. She stood up, seeing Big Ben not far away as she looked around for any sign of life. Then she checked her pocket watch, her dark clothing hiding her in the darkness. "Riku said they wee meeting me here...they are late..." The. She sniffed the air and it hit her. Cigar smoke. German cigar smoke. And she sniffed again and she smelled gun powder and....dead skin. She closed her eyes as she heard the steps behind her and a thick German accent said "good evening, ms. Shade....." She turned to see a squad of nazis aiming guns at her and their leader....red skull. She faced them fully and she muttered "hello commander....I guess I was set up...." He smiled then she felt pain in her neck and she fell to her knees, blackness taking over as she hit the ground.....

Present day
Tony was working in his lab, sparks flying as he tried to weld two pieces of metal together, feeling banners eyes on his back. Without looking up he said "Bruce, if you have something to say, just say it. Or your other side might say it with his fists" they had been working in the lab for days almost, but banner had been taking breaks. Tony, like normal, refused to. The project they were working on was too important in his eyes. He went back to welding, waiting for the doctor to answer

Banner sighed, reluctantly addressing Tony on a subject that, to be honest, he felt rather uncomfortable with. "Steve has been released from his ice capsule for over a few months now and he's adjusting to this foreign society quite well, but don't you recall there being records of another superhuman individual during his prior era?" He knew these rumors might be false, the ramblings of traumatized soldiers from back in the day, but even still, Banner had to wonder.

"Steve should know, remember at least."

However, asking the solider ripped from time would not be an easy task. Steve is rather guarded about his past and doesn't speak openly about a lot of events that happened. With a tug at his glasses, thumb and index finger rubbed sorely at the bridge of his nose, Banner once again released a held sigh. "I was just thinking," he mused a loud. "If there's another superhuman individual with the same serum as Rogers, it might be worth looking into."

"You've broken the fifth rib on your right side, sprained the joint of your left leg and there appears to be damage alongside the central nervous system as well." As she continued to list off his current injuries and diagnosed him, Hawkeye shifted uncomfortably on the examination table. Watching curiously as his doctor's eyes suddenly regained their usual coloring, the Archer smirked and leaned back casually with crossed arms. "Why do your eyes go white when you're using that....that ugh...." The name for her ability escaped him.

She smiled, sliding on her latex gloves. "Examination Eyes, sir."

Hawkeye loved hearing her speak, so elegant and polite, a proper lady. "So, what now, Doc?" A nickname, but commonly used when addressing her.

"I'm going to take a sample of your blood and check for any potential diseases that might have manifested since your last mission." This test required her to draw a vile of fresh blood from Hawkeye's arm, swishing the liquid quickly before dripping a droplet onto her outstretched tongue. He watched his amazement, fascinated as her eyes closed and she immediately began focusing on the chemicals identified within his blood. A technique called Diagnosing Tongue, another of her personalized skills.

He waited, patiently and remained silent as she began writing a detailed report of his examination.

Tony looked at him and said "well, if what we have been reading is true, it can't be from the allies side. Remember my dad was part of the project. In his notes Rogers was the only one....but I highly doubt no one else didn't try...." He yawned and rolled his neck and said "but we will just have to wait and see what turns up in the searches" just then the lab doors opened and Rogers walked in. "Suit up guys, we got a live one. Hydra agents were spotted trying to get into a abandoned lab. Looks like they found one of one labs from the war" tony got up and said "sweet, field trip time"

They all sat on the ship, black widow siting in the pilot sit as they waited for everyone. Tony said "so which doc are we getting" banner looked inside the ship and said "Doc will be going with you to the base. I....would prefer to stay behind and not get into a fight today"

"Doc?" Hawkeye knew she was preoccupied, but he needed to speak with her urgently. Fury gave the command for all available members of SHIELD be pulled for a mission, something dangerous, of course. The assignment, far as Hawkeye knew, was in regard to something from Steve's past. He didn't know a lot about Captain America, but he was smart enough to reason a few theories.

"Yes, Clint?" She didn't speak his name often, but he enjoyed the rare occasions when she would. Although she hides her natural Scottish accent when the company of the Avengers, her British accent still remains. Hawkeye has a fancy (as she would say) for her voice. "Is there something wrong?"

"Banner asked that you come along on the latest mission." He didn't agree with the Scientist's opinion, yet wouldn't dismiss his decision. She saw his concern, it was obvious.

The doctor smiled, turning away from Hawkeye and began gathering her medical necessities into a bag black. "It's quite alright, love."

With that said, she left the office which was designated to be her own and began walking towards the plane where the other Avengers were assembled.

"Who?" Steve questioned, glancing to Natasha. "Who's the Doc?"

Still new and without the knowledge of current activities, Steve wasn't informed. "Is she another scientist?"

Natasha smirked, lips curling upwards. "No, she's a medical expert. The best in her field, actually."

Tony nodded and said "yep, she is one of the best. And we will be lucky to have her if anything goes wrong" banner nodded and said "I'll leave you guys to it....good luck" he headed back for the main doors just as hawkeye and doc walked thru. He stopped her for a moment and said "thanks for going in my place....to day is...well, not one of my good days" he smiled then headed inside as tony leaned out of the ships door. "Come on, legolas, let's get going. Doc, you take all the time you need"

The hydra agents were working to open the main doors to the back vault, one was looking at a huge cyro tank. "Hey guys, look at this thing. I've never seen one this big" one of the other agents turned and said "records say that's weapon death angel. But that's all it says"

Banner didn't need to thank her, but the gesture was sweet all the same. Assuring him that she didn't mind at all, Nydella smiled happily. "Take care of yourself, Banner." He nodded in response, walking down the hallway towards his laboratory. Nydella showed no indication that she caught another's presence approaching, yet offered Hawkeye a smile when he announced himself at her side.

"Are you ready to go?" He looked down at the bag held in one of her hands, reasoning it contained medical supplies of some sort.

Nydella nodded, "Yes. Let's get moving."

Together they entered the plane and left in different directions. Hawkeye, to no surprise, joined Natasha at the pilot's chair. Meanwhile, Nydella advanced towards Tony Stark, already wearing a warm smile and kindly waved as she came closer. "Shouldn't you be strapped in?" Nydella teased playfully, seating herself and strapping in. "The plane will be leaving soon."

"Ma'am?" Someone spoke softly, their voice barely caught by her ears. Nydella turned, searching for the speaker. Suddenly her eyes landed on the impressive build of the famed blond solider. Immediately she blushed darkly along the tops of both cheeks. "Captain Rogers," she purposely left out his Alias.

Steve smiled, politely extending his hand. "Pleasure to meet you...."

"Nydella," she answered quickly. "But, Nyde or Ny is also fine. Everyone around her calls me Doc, anyway.

Tony smiled and said "I don't think a plane going down could hurt me..." He winked at her then the captain walked up and said "right, I forgot you two haven't really met yet. Steve this is the doc. She's the best we got and we would all be lost without her" the over head speaker came on and widow said "alright guys here is what we got. Looks like hydra is already at the sight so we are going in hot. We have to be the ones who get into the lab and find what secrets the red skull might have been hiding. We will be taking off in just a sec." Tony smiled and leaned back. "Fighting hydra....sounds like a good time"

Nydella smiled, staying perfectly still until the plane lifted itself into the air. Steve seemed to get a little sick at first, but that's understandable. After all, he's still adjusting back to the normal world after being frozen for years. As the plane was directed to the Hydra base by Hawkeye and Natasha, Nydella unbuckled her seat belt and went walking around the cabin. She stopped in front of Tony, pressing two fingers to the underside of his jaw without saying a word.

Steve watched curiously, kneeling down at her side so he could get a better view. Nydella then pulled out a syringe from her bag, tapped it twice, then injected the amber colored liquid directly into Tony's throat. "There, you'll need that for the temperatures where we're going. To ensure that your core temp doesn't drop below a healthy degree."

"What was that?" Steve asked, watching her do the same to herself and then readied the syringe for him.

"It's a self warming injection of my own design. I have it customized for everyone's individual needs. For example, my core temp is lower than Tony's and yours is higher. I made sure each injection was perfectly measured for the specific person." She gently repeated the injection with Steve and smiled after wards. "Didn't even hurt."

Steve nodded, "Thanks Doc."

Nydella blushed, standing up and went to give the shots to Hawkeye and Natasha as well.

Natasha was checking the scans when a image came up and she stared. "Um guys....you better looked out the window..." They started to land in the street, the scene hard to believe. Hydra agents were firing at the lab doors, and their own shadows attacking them. The doors opened and tony put his helmet on and said "more hot then we thought, let's move guys!"

Iron man jumped out of the ship and blasted towards the doors, widow jumping out and blasted hydra agents as the team ran by. Hawkeye looked back at Doc and said "why don't we stay back where till the way is clear. I know your not much of a fighter" widow was soon the only one standing outside the doors, stark already inside. He looked around at the moving shadows and hit his comm. "you guys getting this? I have no idea what I'm looking at...and that's a first for me" widow and Steve walked inside as widow called to hawkeye and said "it's clear for the doc. Looks like most of the hydra guys got taken out by these...shadows I guess. And...whoa" all three of them paused to see a huge cyro tank on the far wall, and it was still working. Widow hit her comm again and said "doc...we need you in here. Looks like we got a live one in here" stark was scanning the huge vault doors and looked like they were opened from the inside. "Looks like hydra let something loose....what that was I am not sure. But it was big and most likely bad news for us"
