Still interested, I'll have my character sheet up possibly by tonight. What's the minimum and maximum age my character can be? I noticed a lot of the characters are 20+

I've completed my CS. I had so much to say and knew how I wanted to say it, but when I got to typing nothing sounded good. Let me know if I need to add/change anything.

Can there be two winning tributes for one of the more recent games? Some of us might not want to play as 30 year olds.... If so, I'd like to reserve the 66th since Obese wouldn't have to edit his Cs. He said he was a winner, but he didn't say he was the only one.

True Self, if none of the years available are good for you then I guess you can be just tribute for the district and include the fact that there are no victors alive from your district but every district has to be participating and in your case there was just a normal tribute draw but ,for example, to those who have reached age of 15. We all know that there have never been 2 victors in Hunger Games, only in 74th it happened.

Well done True Self. I'm also new to the Hunger Games as I haven't read any of the books, just seen the movies but it do not stop you from doing a little bit of a research on your own to prepare yourself and help yourself. All the things I know now is just because of my research so there always is an option. Even if you want, just saying, you can say that your mother won back then but she died, let's say, soon after the games from the injury she got in the final battle and as her only child you have to fill in her shoes this time. In such way you can choose an older hunger games where your characters mother was the victor.

Thanks, I actually like the idea of her mother winning instead, but dying of an injury.. & I'm going to edit in a reason why the father or no one tried to step in and volunteer when Leola's mother was chosen as tribute. Thinking maybe Leola's father was really sick during the time or maybe she WANTED to win for her district, because she felt confident about winning.. dunno yet.

Men can't volunteer for women, so that won't be a problem. And volunteering is very common in district one, so it is more likely that her mother volunteered herself.

Ah, I see. I'll do some editing in a few, because I'm inspired to add in some things. How would Leola filling in her mother's shoes work though? Would she automatically have to become a tribute or would she still have to be chosen at random regardless of her mother being victor? Not sure how all that works.

Well, this has never happened before in the books. So it could be either, really. I would talk to the GM about it.

S/he's probably busy...hopefully s/he will be on soon. If not, someone else could maybe act as a GM in her/his place...? I would hate to overthrow her/him, though.

An option for Leola would be to go with the story that her mother died...but have it be in a very narrow timeline. If you said that her mother died AFTER her name was Reaped for the 75th games, but BEFORE attending training, then that would probably make the most sense for why they decided to pass the torch on to Leola. Because if her mother had died after the games, logically speaking, there would still be enough Victors in District 1 to have a pool to choose from. District 1 takes their training very seriously, and have won several times if I recall correctly.

I hope so. I always get uneasy when the GM suddenly vanishes. I mean, it's not a big deal, yet. I just hope everything is okay.

I think I'll just have it where her mother dies of an injury a while back after winning the games and that's the end of it. I'd rather not have to go back and alter my whole bio in order to add in the part of Leola taking her mother's place as tribute. Unless there is a way for her to take her place without her mother dying recently instead, because I really wanted to highlight the fact that Leola grew up without her mother - it strengthens her reasoning for wanting to survive even more for her son, because growing up without a mother (and even worse for Louie, without a father as well) will be Louie's reality too if Leola were to die.

Not at all. Even they take the Hunger Games as something to go for and be proud of to take part, if we look at the known victors list then there are only 2 knows victors from District 1 - Gloss, who won 63rd games, and his sister Cashmere, who won 64th games. They died tho in the 75th but it doesn't work as we are here to play the 75th. And honestly I just asked to not go over the real story with the victors and the known years but for such things like this, why was she chosen to be in the games in her mothers place it not so important. What the puppet master will tell us will do.

As for the Gm, are we even sure he or she will be back? I went to her profile and the latest activity elsewhere is 6 days ago. She hasn't left a forewarning or even checked up on this thread in 5 days (It only takes a second or two out of someone's day to make a quick reply on here). My hopes are for the Gm to return and to get things rolling. Though, I can't help but think that he or she could've abandoned this thread, because of real life circumstances.

It would sadden me if this was the case. I was actually looking forward to it really. I hope he/she does come back.
