Basically, multiple fights are going on at once, but there are still a couple of groups of characters in the forest, so Sanji and Chopper would be able to interact by either helping them in their fights or by simply fighting against one of the groups for no reason in particular.

Actually, I've had a discussion once about how Sonic defeated an omnipotent being, so I should probably give up on applying logic to the little blue bugger.
