Dusk covered the skies of the large city of Atlanta as the city continued to buzz and boil with individuals expanding themselves around the streets. People running and shouting, screaming and laughing from bar to bar, inviting a wild atmosphere that lures the darkest creatures out of the hiding spots. Some more than others….

Snoooooorrrrrreeeeeeee, Snore snore… Snooooorrrrreeeee….. A loud echo of snoring shook the wooden walls of a bedroom. A selection of large manors lived on the outskirts of Chicago in the rich district. Curtains pulled covering all the windows, kept out the last bit of sunlight before it disappeared behind the horizon. Cars began to emerge from the surrounding manors and drive down the street heading towards one of the manors closest to the city. The snoring filled manor received a rapid knock on the main door before it was pushed open. “JACK!!” A male’s voice shouted inward as the heavy door shut behind him. Thump thump thump the yelling male followed the echoes of snores to a large oak door that softened the snore. The young looking blonde smirked and disappeared deeper into the house before returning to the door and pushing it open.

A large bedroom appeared in front of the young man, old looking furniture and lush looking tapestry. As one of the biggest manors on the block, the place was filled with elegance beyond it’s time and everything looked as though it was in perfect condition. A body rolled under thick sheets in the darkness of the room. Snoring echoed and a head with spiky crazy black hair appeared from under the covers against the midnight blue pillow. The blonde smirked as he arrived at the head and dumped a glass of water onto the face of his snoring friend.

Springing awake in surprise, the long limbs of the six foot two black haired man began to flail wildly about before he found the edge of the King bed opposite his friend and landed upon the hardwood floor with a loud thump, which was followed by another loud sound; laughter from the blonde. "Get up Jack, I swear you could sleep all day and night."

"I could..." A grumble came from the other side of the bed as the black haired man rose up before climbing to his feet. Running his hands along his hairy face he let out an annoyed sigh and dropped his arms to his side in his t-shirt and sweat pants. "If someone wouldn't break into my house and dump a glass of ice cold water on my face."

Had the blonde not found the dresser close by, he probably would have collapsed onto the floor in laughter. Best friend since they were born, Jack and James were true friends and out of everyone, while Jack can count on the blonde to dump water on his head and break into the house; he can also count on James to have his back. But the reason the blonde was laughing so hard is because with the water weighing down Jack's crazy bed head to more of a professional sleek look, something no one ever saw him with. "You look professional like that, it's hilarious." The idea of Jack Honeywell being professional is the simple dream of a mad man, that man being Jack's father who is the head of the vampire clan in Chicago. Jack's father had high hopes for his own son, that he would find himself a lovely vampire bride and take a job seriously enough to inherit the chair of the head of the vampire council but that... That really wasn't Jack's style.

"Professional..." The sleep young man repeated with a yawn, "that's rich." Shaking his head, the water flew out of his hair and it went back to its crazy bed-head look. "What do you want? It's only nine thirty. The sun just went down."

A large smile moved across James' face as he finally caught his breathe. "Ricky's throwing a party and there are going to be a bunch of humans there. You haven't had a fresh human in a while. Don't you miss sucking it out of them instead of drinking from a glass?"

Laughing, Jack walked sleepily around his bed and pushed his friend out of the way to the dresser; he knew exactly where this was going. "I may not be professional but I'm classy enough to drink from a glass instead of the neck of an innocent person.”

James rolled his eyes as he marched himself over to an over-sized fluffy chair and fell dramatically onto it. “You and I both know that’s a loud of hogwash. As long as you go a romantic route with it, it feels nothing more than a hickey to them because they’re blinded by the thought of ‘love’.” His hands rose up in the air quotes as he said the word love before allowing his limbs to fall to the sides of the chair hanging freely. “Besides, you need to start making more social appearances, you know this.” A smirk moved across James’ thin lips.

That stopped Jack in his digging for clothes, the blue eyes of the young man turned until they landed on his friend. The sleepiness seemed to disappear at the word social experiences. He hated how much sense his true friend spoke. A small smile moved across Jack’s face as he nodded. “Give me ten minutes.”

The ten minutes was all Jack needed before he bounded down the stairs and locked the door behind him. Jumping into his red hot rod, he kicked it into drive and followed his friend down a couple roads to the house of one of their group mates. Music shaking the windows of the manor, Jack let out a laugh as he pulled the convertible into a spare parking spot and turned off the vehicle. His old 1967 Mustang convertible stood out surrounded by the rich kids’ expensive 2012+ cars but he didn’t care. No one in their right mind would mess with something that belonged to him. Even though he was very laid back, slightly awkward and humor driven young man; he was very powerful individual and this, this could be a very fun party!

Ceilia walked slowly in the stark white hospital. The smell was starting to get to her but... She smiled, the memory of the eyes of those she had seen today. Kids loved visitors, that she'd figured out quickly. She watched as nurse's walked down the hallway past her, clipboards in hand. They walked with purpose, well... some of them. She looked down at the ground as she walked, her thoughts turning slowly. She wasn't allowed to heal anyone, but what Father didn't know wouldn't hurt him. It wasn't like she did very much anyway. Move a few molecules here, a little angel dust there. She chuckled at her own joke. Her head shot up as she heard the call, a call for a doctor. Something was up. She watched with careful eyes as people ran past her, getting prepared to go into surgery. She watched down the hall as one of the children she'd talked to was wheeled in. Her eyes narrowed slowly. Father... She swallowed harshly and closed her eyes, turning away from the situation. There was nothing she could do. She needed to get out of here. She'd never gotten along with Death Angels. She had to be grateful that she'd hadn't been given the job. Compared to that, she'd much rather lead the clan.

It didn't take her very long to get outside. She knew the layout of hospitals pretty well and they were all mostly the same. Plus, the signs helped. She looked up as the sun fell and the stars began to show and a smile grew on her face. She couldn't be depressed for very long, the little boy wouldn't like that, would he? Plus, he was in a better place, right? She, though being an Angel, had never really even been to Heaven before. Well, she had but she doesn't remember it. She jumped when she felt the buzz of her phone from her back pocket. She let out a small sigh and pulled it out, looking at the caller I.D. Olivia... Ceilia let out a heavy sigh and answered the call.

"What is it, Liv?" She said.

"You have to get over here." Liv responded. Ceilia could hear the voices of other girls in the background, probably some of Liz's groupies. Liv was Ceilia's best friend, God knows why. She was much more popular than Ceilia which often makes her wonder Liv even hung out with her.

Ceilia couldn't help but smile as she sighed and responded, "Alright. Where are you?"

"My house, be here in like, ten minutes. Bye!" She chirped and then dial tone. Ceilia let out another long sigh, giving up. She did love Liv, she was just... tiring. Ceilia walked out to her car and got in. Before she left, she looked up in the mirror at herself. Tired green eyes stared back at her. I've seen too much... She pulled a stray strand of brown hair out of her face and tucked in neatly behind her ear. Satisfied, she turned the car on and made her way to Liv's house.

She wasn't really even surprised when she arrived. Liv was standing outside in one of the shortest skirts she owned, her girl friends all standing near her car. Ceilia turned her car off and took in a deep breath. This was going to be interesting. She got out of the car and smiled at her friend. Liz ran over best she could in the ridiculously tall high heels she was wearing. Standing at 5'8", she didn't even need them. She dwarfed Ceilia who stood at a measly 5'5. When she'd finally made her way over to Ceilia, the blonde's arms wrapped themselves around her neck.

"I missed you!" She yelled, right next to Ceilia's ear.

"I... saw you yesterday..." Ceilia mumbled, her ears already throbbing. "What's so important?" She asked.

"Ricky's throwing a party and I got invited. So, of course, I'm bringing you. You can come can't you?" Liv explained after pulling away. There was a large mischievous grin on her face. Well, no. Ricky's a vampire. I'm not allowed... Her thoughts returned to the boy in the hospital and her anger began rising.

"Yes. I can go." Ceilia answered with a determination she hadn't meant to come out.

"Good! Let's go get you dressed!" She replied, oblivious to Ceilia's tone of voice. "Girls, get in the car. Shouldn't take long." She told her girls and they nodded in compliance. Ceilia raised a brow but let out a small giggle as she was led into Liv's house. Her mom was sitting at the dinner table, a newspaper in her face. Ceilia gave her a small smile.

"Hey Ms. Carter!" She yelled out as Liv pulled her up the stairs and up to her room. Ceilia waited patiently as Liv sifted through her closet of clothes and pulled something out. Without another word she began to dress Ceilia. Ceilia lifted a brow but didn't say much. When she was done, Liv smiled at her.

"Alright. Turn around. You look great!" She said and spun Ceilia. As she faced the mirror, her eyes grew wide. She was wearing a beautiful black dress. It actually fit her body pretty well... She turned around to face Liz.

"I can't wear this." She said, her voice small.

"Sure you can! Knock 'em dead, girl. And if you don't, I'll do that for you." Liv responded with a chuckled and then bent down to put on the matching shoes, black high heels. This is certainly going to be different... Liv turned around and pulled something out of her drawer. When she returned she pulled something shiny over Ceilia's head. She heard a clasp and turned around. "It's my best. Saved it just for you." Liv told her, a softness in her voice. Ceilia turned around and put her arms around Liv's neck.

"You're too much but... I love you." Ceilia said, her voice cracking.

"Think nothing of it. Come on, let's get some make up on you." She responded, a soft smile on her face.

When they were finally done and out the door, the girls at the car kept staring at Ceilia. She smiled awkwardly at them and got in the car, taking the passenger side next to Liv. She looked in the mirror on the car. Her eyes were painted with shades of black and gold, her lips a pretty shade of red. It felt weird... She didn't feel like herself. She sighed, deciding to make the most of it. She smiled over at Liv as she started the car and they made their way to Ricky's house. Maybe other angels would be there and she wouldn't feel like such a black sheep. I mean, more than just vampires show up to a vampire's party, right?
