We've all been operating in Star City about a week or so. When I say we've been relocated here I mean we've been relocated here. No Zeta Beams or Boom Tubes.

Also, if anybody in the game is a geek I'm surprised nobody saw the easter egg in the opening paragraph about what's to come. I know I'm a bit more geek than the average superhero fan but... I figured somebody would see where I was going with this. If it lasts long enough to see the master plan play out it has the potential of being just as epic as the YJ cartoon show...

It's in the opening of the IC/OOC, what's bold and italics at the top. I already skimmed over a fight with Kobra that happened at some point in our first week here in Star City. It's more localized than the big overlapping story in the YJ cartoon.

*thinks as she looks at the minis* Jin looks... kinda weird compared to the others. I think she needs more leg coverage. >>;

Jin: I'm gonna get shot in the thigh.

I can make the pink legs a little longer. Wasn't trying to show off too much, it's based on an old Green Lantern character I'd made someone for another game...

EDIT: titanpadding BTW...

Y'mean the Tomorrow Woman reference? I'm pretty sure I know what you've got planned.

I didn't bother looking in the bolded part, because that was from the OOC.

i missed that, but i am a huge comic fan, Superman, Aquaman, Flash and Green Lantern are among my favorite superheroes. Batman is one of my least favorite, i like seeing him in comics, movies and television but he is not among my favorite. my other favorite heroes are more less known among the DC universe. one more thing, everyone should check out Justice League Dark, it is a great series from the New 52

I don't know as much about DC as I would like. There's just so much to follow and I never know what's canon. That's not even taking into effect the constant retcons and reboots.

See, that 'right now' is what kills me. It just makes me feel like, at anytime, anything I'm reading will just become obsolete.

true but it still doesn't mean that the previous stories are gone, you can still enjoy them. also technically it is only once every ten years or more that the continuity changes in a big way, between those years only minor changes are made but the origins and crossover events are still canon, like I'm pretty sure all of the Green Lantern crossover events that were written by Geof Johns are still canon. in truth the New 52 didn't restart everything like Crisis on infinite earths did, it pretty much just did a few changes and start off some new series, just now it is more easy for new comic book readers to get into the DC universe. i know it can get confusing or annoying when continuity changes, but you can always just pick up the old stories and enjoy them, like Harry Potter is done and there won't be another series but that doesn't ruin the joy of reading the books. in my opinion continuity changes shouldn't discourage people from liking comics, there's plenty of old comics to enjoy.

Hm... Are there any you can recommend to me? I've heard great things about Harley's series.

I've heard awful things. Mostly because I dislike the character. The Killing Joke, Dark knight Returns, Doom Patrol are really good. Court of Owls is practically the only thing within New 52 worth reading.

if you're talking about the New 52, me personally, i really enjoy the Justice League titles. there is Justice League, Justice League Dark, and Justice League of America. i haven't read Justice League 3000 yet so i can't give an opinion on it. Justice League is the series with all the main members. Justice League Dark is the team made up of supernatural and magical based heroes so the series focuses on magical and supernatural threats. the Justice League of America is a government funded league that is there as a contingency plan in case the main Justice League goes rogue. Martian Manhunter, Catwoman, Star Girl, Hawkman and Vibe are a part of the team.

the Suicide Squad series is pretty good and Harley Quin is a main character in that series. the Aquaman series is also really great and shows that Aquaman is an awesome hero. i also like the Green Lantern Corps series since it stars John Stewart and Guy Gardner and is set in space. I also heard that the Batman series by Scott Snyder is really good, and the Flash comic is good as well. I also enjoyed the Bird of Prey series.

if you're looking for suggestions for comics before the New 52 then my suggestion is to look for any series written by ether Grant Morrison or Geof Johns. Grant Morrison's JLA series is amazing, and all of Geoff John's Green Lantern stories are incredible. also check out Kingdom Come by Mark Waid, it is a story that is not part of the main continuity but it is a very great graphic novel. even though i have barely started reading them, the JSA series looks pretty good. there are more but these suggestions are all i can think of right now.

do you have any type of story preference? because it really all comes down to what type of story you're looking for.

i completely disagree. true there have been some sub par stories but i have really enjoyed a lot of the New 52 so far.

I like fun stuff, with strong females. Stuff that doesn't become too heavy. I'm also a sucker for the best art... My era's the Timm/Diniverse, so...

in that case, Grant Morrison may not be the best suggestion since he can be very complex. i like to call him the J.R.R Token of DC comics in how complex in his stories are, but the JLA series does have some really great art in my opinion. the artwork for Kingdom Come is done in a watercolor style which i find to be really cool, and it almost reads like a religious story. as for strong females, all of the Justice League series have strong heroines. but if you're looking for a series with a mostly female cast then i would suggest Birds of Prey since that series stars Black Cannery and several other lesser known DC heroines, but i have only read the New 52 series and not the ones before it, but I've heard a lot of good things about them.

I suggest the Batman Beyond Titles. They are a continuation of the Timmverse tv shows (BTAS-JLU). It is the one exception I make.

And yet it failed to all intelligent DC fans displeasure. Only to be replaced with that garbage Teen Titans Go.
