[IC] Protector from the Sea

Avery was sitting on the water edge, just watching the water. She had a lot on her mind and she really just wanted to be left alone. She put her feet into the water, sighing as the wet cold hit her skin. She looked around at her friends playing and horsing around. They had brought her here to try and cheer her up, but not a lot could do that lately. Avery was a happy joyful girl before her mother had been taken from her. Her father had been gone on a case, he was a Marine who now owned a security firm and he was helping protect some important world changing person. Avery had been at the collage working late when her phone went off and she answered, expecting it to be her mother telling her she needed to come home and eat something. But it wasn't her. Now it was just her and her father. It had been two months since her mothers death and she still couldn't believe it. She still couldn't think that when she went home today, her mother wouldn't be there to greet her with a snack and her warm loving smile.

Avery shook her head and stood up on the dock. She had to get out of this mood. She had to keep going. KEep fighting like her mother wanted ther to. She jumped into the water, staying underwater for a few moments before coming back up and swimming towards her friends. But then something went past her foot and she turned fast in the water, looking around. Nothing was there. She shook her head then heard yelling and she turned to look at her friends who were yelling something. She yelled "What?" Then she heard the words they were yelling and she turned again to see what they had been yelling. Wave. A really big wave. She didn't have time to move. The wave came crashing down on her, sending her rolling. The force knocked the breath out of her and she began to stink to the bottom, her body not wanting to move.

Mystery swam through the water unseen by human eyes, he watched the ocean floor and the human beings around him. He swam around the shore but stayed unseen but wants to see if everyone was alright. he was the water dragon of protection built to protect humans and animals alike. He swam around till he noticed a girl struggling to stay afloat and swam over slowly. he was unsure what to do but the girl would die if he didn't do anything. he gently pressed his muzzle into the girls back and took her to shore letting the waves carry her there smiling gently and then saw off his glowing yellow eyes periced the water but stayed unseen by many people. his scales golden and blue color and swam to his beachy cave where no human could get into and lifted his massive head from the water and rests on the beach sunning himself.

Avery felt something against her back and she was pushed back to shore, washing up onto the shore as her freinds came running to make sure she was alright. She sat up coughing up water, looking around wildly. "Where did...something..." Her friends hugged her, thankful she was alright. But she looked at the water. She knew it wasn't a wave that saved her. Something out there did.

Maggie was sitting at her desk, dark shadows under her eyes as she moved paper out of the way on the wood to look at a map again. It was late, again. She hadn't slept in days, the case her and her partner working keeping her from going home. She rubbed her eyes, reaching for the coffee mug that was out of reach of her blind hand.

The large dragon rested in its hidden in underwater cave hisses slightly. He went off to swim around the deep cove his glowing yellow eyes looked around.

Jayson works on some work he had about sea life and wondered if anything was out there that was ancient

A few days later Avery drove out to the coast again, pulling into the parking lot and jumping out. She couldn't ignore it anymore. Something was out there and she wanted to find it. There had been reports of soemthing out in the bay and she wanted to find it. Not to be famous or anyhting, but to thank it for saving her. She walked onto the sand and started walking along the shore, just looking out, hoping for a clue.

Maggie walked over to his desk, looking beat as she set a stack of files on his desk. "There...all the case reports done...and I set copies to the boss as well...what are you working on?"

The dragon swam through the water before seeing the gir Grumbling gently he lifted his large head stareing at her sniffed the air and then flopped back into the water

Avery stopped and sighed. "GUess you don't want to show yourself...well then" She sat down on the sand and said "I guess I'll just talk hope you can hear me...My name is Avery Shade. I'm a collage student...studying history and design. And I just wanted to thank you for saving my life...and I was hoping i could say that to your face but I guess your nervous. I don't blame you. Nut jobs and newspapers all wanting pictures of you...all wanting you to show yourself for their selfish gain...seems twisted to me but...I was never normal"

Maggie sighed and poked Jayson in the shoudler. "Hey, partner? Wake up or your going to be stuck like that"

The dragon growled gently and waves flew up high above her but never came down. In the middle of the large wave was a massive dragon with large golden glowing eyes "your welcome " it only poke to her.

Jayson groaned streaching "dammit any news of that ocean thing? " he mutters standing up tiredly.

Avery jumped up, staring in awe. "Whoa...hello there. I didn't expect you to be...so...whoa..." She had to sit back down as she looked at the creature. "Who are you....what are you?"

MAggie shook her head, rubbing her tired eyes as she said "Nothing new. Though there was a near drowing a few days ago but no reported a monster or anything. I'm starting to think its a wild goose chase" She yawned, leaning against his desk.

The large dragon stares at her from the wave that surged up but never came down "I am mystery the dragon of protection and safety . I am lord of the seas and the animals inside of it. I am a nano net dragon shifter that patrols all the oceans" he growled gently in an calm deep voice.

Jayson yawned gently looking around "probably but I still want to know what pulled her to shore no ocean wave could have got her to the surface and to shore" he pointed out slowly.

Avery nodded and said. "Wow...it's nice to meet you. I'm Avery. And...well. I'm not sure what else to say...have you always been here?"

Maggie nodded and said "good point...nice" she pulled chair over and sat down, looking at her watch. "It's 3 in the morning..."

The dragon stares at her deeply, past her skina nd into her soul "i am the only dragon alive, I am the only Creature that stands between your death of drowning and living. I choose to save you" he said gently.

Jayson groaned and grumbled annoyed

She nodded and said "I understand that...I mean here, in this place...way here? There's a huge ocean out there, more then one...why here?"

Maggie smiled and said "Go home. I can finish up here. I'll find out who the girl is and her story..."

[Dragon princess]

The Dragon stares at her his long body waving behind him "i patrol all oceans, I happen to be here when you nearly drowned" he said slowly seeing no humans around the wave dropped and he lifted his large blue green head, the size of two cars out of the water his golden eyes shining in the darkness of the beach.

Jayson yawned and nodded "alrighty just stay safe" he said and wnet of to his car

Avery nodded, still trying to wrap her head around all of this. She moved forward into the water a couple feet and said "are you happy?"

Maggie smiled and went back to her desk, sitting down and going back to work, fighting to stay awake

There was a camra at the beach that was watching the beach and caught the dragon on tape.

The dragon growls gently and lowers its head looking at the girl slowly "I am happy" he said slowly

She nodded and the smiled, reaching up and resting a hand on his nose. "Good....so what else can dragons do? Myths say a lot but..."

Maggie's phone went off and she picked up. "This better be.....what ? Where....perfect, I'll head out there now....fine, first thing in the morning" she hung up and said "finally a lead"

The dragon looks at her and breaths out his breath salty and breeze blew her hair back. "Many dragons could fly and breath flames, control water and earth. I control the seas many" he said slowly.

She nodded and then said "I'm glad that your safe here....I promise I won't tell anyone about you....but with what happened people have been starting to scout the area more, I'm guessing you've noticed. Is there a place yu can hide for a while...."

"yes i have an Underground cave where i usually am for a long time" smiles gently eyes flickering gently. He hears a car and ducked back into the water and was gone without a trace. Swimming close by but not leaving just yet.
