NO MORE OPEN SPOTS. SORRY. WE'RE ALL FULL UP.

London, England - February 14th, 1888

A young woman is walking the streets alone at night. The streets are blanketed in fog, and we can hear the sound of cats fighting in the distance. She hurries along the stone road awaiting the warmth of her small home. The woman decides to cut down a small alleyway to make her journey quicker. She is being followed. From the corner of her eye she spots a man dressed in very fancy garbs, but covering his face. She quickens her pace, as does the figure. She turns a corner and gasps.

She has been stabbed in the stomach. The mysterious man standing in front of her, even though he was behind her mere moments ago. He twists the knife, and slides it awkwardly across her belly spilling her insides. She collapses to the ground dead. The man then kneels down beside the corpse and begins eating her organs. Every few minutes looking around to make sure nobody is watching.
Queen Victoria creates a secret order in 1888 to deal with "supernatural" phenomenon after the rise of murders from Jack The Ripper. The Order hunts down, and kills anything that could endanger the lives of the people of England. The Order has been around for a year at this point, and the role-play will start at the tracking down of Jack The Ripper and killing him (he isn't human in this roleplay). Each player will create a character set in the Victorian Era that is part of this Order for various reasons. I'll throw up a character sheet below this. But before that, a little more information. Mainly monsters, and what-not, be warned. These aren't all the monsters we'll encounter. Just a handful.

The Order Headquarters
An abandoned church in the middle of the city. This is where the Order lives, sleeps, and eats. Once you're inducted into the Order you're considered deceased and wiped from every record known to man. You are no longer permitted to see family, or communicate with loved ones. Your life belongs to the Order until the day you die. The building has various rooms. The main room that is run-down in-case people break in, and the real base which is underground and concealed away with a hidden passage behind a bookshelf in the old library. In the actual base is a Library, Kitchen, Main Area, Training Room, and Blacksmith.

Vampires
Creatures of the night. Vampires are undead beings who feed on the blood of the living. They're highly dangerous, and are difficult to kill when in numbers. In the Bloodletting lore; The vampires started when Count Dracula/Vlad The Impaler sold his soul to the devil for immortality. The Devil tricked Vlad, and instead cursed him with a different type of immortality. To live, Vlad would have to feed on the blood of the living once a day to keep his immortality in check. Eventually, it was discovered from Vlad himself that the curse could pass between himself and his victims. He would find attractive pregnant women, and bite them. He wouldn't kill them, but instead turn them into the cursed creature that he was. They would be put under his spell, and he would claim them as his bride and they would provide him with children who were born as vampires. Eventually, he vanished but the curse lived on through his generations of children whom passed the curse down by biting their victims. It was found that they can be killed by any means that would normally dispatch a living person. They are only immortal with that they can live forever if they feed. They can still starve, and be killed quite easily.

Purebloods
The direct blood-descendants of Count Dracula. They are born undead hence the deformed look of them. Not many are left in existence, but a few still remain. Unlike their "turned" counterparts, the Purebloods are capable of feeding on and turning the corpses of the deceased. They are extremely agile, and are extremely strong and have been seen ripping people in half with their hands. Purebloods are not so easily killed, but it can be done. Victor Van Helsing, the eldest member of the Order is the only member to have successfully done this. He explains that the only way to kill one is to remove the head with a weapon made of silver, separate them and burn both parts with Holy Fire. Normal fire won't work, and if not done quick enough the body will regenerate. However, Victor's encounter with the creature injured him so much that it resulted in him taking control of the Order's Blacksmith as he wasn't capable of hunting anymore.

Werewolves
Men by day, wolf by night. Unlike your typical "werewolf", the Werewolves of Bloodletting are unique in their own aspect. Every night they turn into this beast, and only a few people have been known to be able to control the wolf-side of them. They also pass the curse on through biting, similar to vampires. They are extremely agile, extremely strong, and also incredibly intelligent. They cannot differentiate friend from foe when in beast form and will pretty much kill and eat anything in its path. They can be killed with any weapon made from silver as long as it either destroys the heart, or the brain. The ones who have been known to control their wolf form have also been known to change at will, anytime of the day.

Ghouls
Another creature similar to the Vampire, but instead of feasting on blood they feed on the flesh of living creatures, mainly humans. The first notice of Ghouls were during the Dark Ages when the Bubonic Plague decimated everything and in turn infected humans with the disease. The infected either died, or were turned into this freakish beings. Reduced to animal instinct with the sole purpose of feeding on human flesh. They can only be killed by destroying the brain, and are only made from when a human is introduced to a severe disease/plague.

Demons
Demons are souls that have been tortured in hell to the point of "breaking" and turning into demons. They manifest themselves by possessing a living human. They have minor telekinetic abilities which allows them to toss objects, and people around without touching them. They can leave their host whenever they please and possess any other human in the vicinity. They can be trapped and rendered powerless with a Devil's Trap which allows for easier exorcism which sends the Demon back to Hell. They can also be injured with Holy Water and killed with weapons blessed by a priest, but this also kills the host in the process.
Now for the character sheets. Anyone who is interested please make one in this thread and if we have enough interest I'll port everything over to the OOC.

Name: (Character's name. Atleast make it seem like it would come from the Victorian Era.)
Age: (19-30)
Gender:
Primary Weapon: (Anything that would fit the Victorian Era.)
Secondary Weapon: (Same as above.)
Profession: (Your main skillset in the Order.)
Bio: (Background information on your character and why they joined the Order.)
Outfit: (What your character wears. Can use photos as well, or describe their outfit.)
Appearance: (Just the face. Can use pictures of real people.)

Name: Marcus Van Helsing
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Primary Weapon: Silver Tulwar
Secondary Weapon: 1849 Colt Revolver
Profession: Sword Fighting
Bio: Marcus is the grandson of Victor Van Helsing one of the original members of the Order. He is the only living relative next to his grandfather, and joined the Order because he didn't see a point of dedicating his life to working for someone else, getting married, and having children. He loves hunting monsters and he's passionate about it, even though he can be a little arrogant at times. He is now the Leader of the Order which was passed down to him after his grandfather was injured severely in a monster hunt.
Outfit:
Purple Frock Coat
Black Cotton Trousers
Pointy Toe Skull Boots

Appearance:
Accepted Characters

So, hopefully we can make this roleplay last enough for a couple of story arcs. The first arc will start with the group in London hunting down Jack The Ripper who is actually a Ghoul and is murdering and eating the corpses of the women he kills. This should hopefully last a couple of pages or so, and be used as more of an introduction to the Order and its members and then start having more trouble boil down.

Let's discuss things though. The In-Character will start later after we do some in-depth discussions on how to move forward.

I'm also loosely basing this on various horror works. This include Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Bram Stoker's Dracula, etc. I'd also like to incorporate something to do with the penny dreadful plays that were written and performed in Victorian Times. This means we could possibly have Sweeney Todd show up sometime if there's interest in the character.

That would be interesting, maybe mix in the odd mortal monster and blur the line between super natural and things that are just plain unnatural
