It was a very free life. Living with just she and dragon Stardust, flying about and learning all she could about the amazing world of dragons, was the most gratifying life she felt she could live. It was such a relief to live this kind of life after she had lived so many years being an outcast in her own village. Now she knew though, that she didn't need those people. She didn't need anyone. All she needed was Stardust and the other dragons by her side. It was all she wanted and all she would ever need. She felt free. She felt loved. And for once in her life she felt at home. The skies were her home now and there was nothing better than that.

Except for when she was caught in a storm, and much to her displeasure it was a storm she was caught in right now. She held on tightly to Stardust as the dragon attempted to maneuver through the clouds, lightening striking around them and thunder rolling, the winds around them unbearable. This was very well the toughest storm they had ever been in and she knew if they stayed in the skies during this horrible weather they wouldn't make it. Staying pressed down against Stardust, attempting to see around them, she yelled over the roaring wind in hopes that her friend would hear her, "Stardust! We HAVE to land! Find some dry land and get out of the skies! Fast!" The dragon gave a clicking sound in understanding and struggling through the storm until her rainbow eyes spotted an island down below. The white dragon nodded as she went to lower herself, but was still about fifty feet up when hail began to pelt them and a large gust of wind knocked her off balance and the two went into a dive, Stardust roaring and Aurora giving off a scream as they landed in the water next to the island.

The struggling dragon popped her head up out of the water, searching wildly for her human and when she saw the human hadn't come to the surface yet, dived down and after a moment of searching saw her drifting off and sinking lower into the water. Before the human could fully loose consciousness her dragon swam under her and the human weakly wrapped her arms around her neck, Stardust carrying her over to shore. Coughing u what water had made its was into her lungs, Aurora groaned as she layed there, soaked and freezing, but safety out of the storm for now as she slipped off, going unconscious.

Stardust whined as her human closed her eyes and curled herself around the freezing girl in attempt to warm her in the now hailing and snowy storm, and she stayed that way there for a long moment before she heard footsteps. The dragoness looked up, her rainbow eyes glaring and pupils turning to slits as she growled, standing in front of Aurora and crouched down in order to protect her human rider from any threats that might emerge from the trees.

Leif had been curled up, nice and warm in his bed, sleeping through the storm, when he felt something nudge him. "Go away," he tiredly says, feebly swatting at whatever nudged him. Feeling it happen again, he groans and rolls over. Opening his eyes, he meets the bright green eyes of his partner, Toothless. In fact, that was all he could see of the black dragon, whose body melded into the shadows. "What?" Leif asks irritably.

Toothless, obviously not intimidated by his rider's tone of voice, turns and walks over to the door, only to turn back and look at Leif, his head cocked to the side. "Seriously?" Leif asks. "You know you don't need me to go outside." He was just about to roll back over when Toothless, apparently having had enough, grips Leif's sheets and pulls them off of the bed. "Alright, alright!" Leif says, sitting up. "I'll go with you."

A few minutes later, Leif was dressed in his warmest clothes and following Toothless outside into the hailing weather. "Couldn't have picked a better time to go to the bathroom, could you?" he asks Toothless, who was looking around, his head cocked to the side as if he were trying to hear something over the storm. Suddenly, the dragon turns around and grabs Leif's arm. Before the young man could ask what he was doing, Toothless tosses him onto his back and immediately takes off, leaving Leif to desperately clutch at the dragons' neck as they fly low to avoid the worst of the storm.

A few moments later, Toothless touches down in a clearing and starts looking around, his head tilting this way and that. Leif, having noticed the dragon's behavior, now that the sleep was forced out of his system, quietly lets Toothless go about his business, knowing better than to distract him. Eventually, they step out of the woods and into another clearing, where Leif sees something he wouldn't have expected in a million years: Another Night Fury, although this one was multi-colored, and an unconscious girl. Slowly, Leif climbs off of Toothless, who was looking at the whit dragon curiously, and slowly approaches, his hands visible to the dragon. "Hey, there," he quietly says, remembering everything his father and grandfather had taught him. "I'm not here to hurt you. I just want to see if your rider's okay."

If there was anything that Stardust wasn't expecting it was what she was seeing right in front of her. She rose her head slightly, her eyes growing curious for just a moment before the human stepped closer and she suddenly remembered her injured rider and began growing once more, crouching down in a threatening way, snapping at the air as her retractable fangs came out. As he continued to come closer, her rainbow colored eyes glanced at his hands before looked over his person to see if he had any weapons.

Seeing none, she rose a little, glancing at the dragon with him. It was so strange to see another Fury. More so, a Fury with a human. After what happened at Aurora's home village with the other humans, she had thought she was the only dragon with a rider. Seeing this though, she realized now she was wrong.

But, the question was now, if this human rode on a dragon, could she trust him to help her human? She straightened a little and looked down at her human. The girl was freezing and not only that had a pretty bad cut on her arm that probably needed to be cleaned and wrapped. And obviously being a dragon she couldn't do that. With that, her pupils dilated from slits to a little bit rounder and she slowly approached his hand, her eyes slightly unsure as she sniffed it and pressed it to her head in testing. And, seeing that he made no move to harm her in that close range, Stardust snorted in approval and walked back over to her human, standing close by as nudged the unconscious Aurora closer to the human, keeping her guard up the whole time in case something changed in his demeanor.

Leif patiently watches as the white Fury seems to weigh its' options. Eventually, it seems to see the wisdom in letting him help its' human. Slowly, he crouches next to the young woman and feels her pulls. "Its' weak," he mutters, not caring about the hail and rain pelting his back. Looking up at the strange dragon, he says, "I'm going to move her onto my dragon's back, okay? She needs to ride with me so she doesn't fall down and you need to take it as easy as possible, especially in this storm. Do you understand?" As he says that, he realizes that the young woman and dragon must have come from a long ways away, otherwise he'd have heard something about there being another Fury, especially one as colorful as this.

Stardust made a small sound of disapproval when the human boy said Aurora would be riding with him. She didn't want her human to ride with this strange boy. But, she also knew it would be dangerous for her to ride on her back, especially when Aurora didn't use a saddle when riding anyway. With her being passed out would increase the risk of her falling off. So, she just grumbled slightly but allowed him to to pick up her human and mount his own dragon. She followed closely and when the male dragon took off flying low in the storm, Star did the same and halfway back to the village the hail and wind began to let up, allowing the two dragons to fly just a little higher and when they reached a little bit of a higher altitude her ears perked up to her a small sound come from Aurora and she flew a little closer, seeing her human's eyes began to flicker open.
--
Aurora wasn't sure what was going on. The last thing she remembered was Stardust dragging her out o the water after being blown off course by a storm. But as she sat there with her eyes closed, it felt different. She was leaning against something that was warm and actually very comfortable, which was odd. She moved slightly to try and sit up, her eyes flickering up and she looked in confusion to find herself up in the air and the first thing she noticed was Stardust flying....beside her. Her blue eyes widening in confusion, she turned to see the thing she had been leaning against was a someone.

A yelp of surprise and fear came from her as she attempted to get from him but with her body still freezing and slightly numb it was difficult to move and her worried dragon got close enough to nudge her in a motion that said she believed this situation was safe. When Stardust did that, the human girl calmed a little but not by much. Just enough to where she wasn't trying to get away, but instead looked nervously back at the redheaded boy, her eyes still wide with a little fear, "W-Who are you?"

"Easy," Leif says as the girl attempts to get away from him. Toothless, feeling the shift in balance, instinctively shifts his body ever-so-slightly in order to keep steady. "My name is Leif. I came to rescue you after Toothless, here, woke me up." As if confirming that he was responsible for saving the girl, Toothless grumbles quietly, a sound which resonates deep within his throat, and seems to have a sound of playful self-pride. Rolling his eyes, Leif then asks, "What's your name? I've never seen you around here and I know I've definitely never seen another Fury on the island."

Aurora was probably even more skittish then her dragon was, so to be there in the arms of some boy she ha never met before was completely frightening. Yet she paid mind to listen to what he said and the fact that he was indeed a dragon rider like she made her more reasonable to listen. That and the fact that Stardust seemed at least relatively calm. If Stardust was panicked about this situation, or worse not even there then Aurora would have had something to worry about. She looked down at the dragon the two of them were riding on and blinked in surprise, "A Night Fury? But.....I thought all the other Fury's were gone."

She glanced at Stardust, who was switching from keeping an eye on her human to looking at the Night Fury with curiosity as well. She watched her dragon for another moment and then looking back at the boy who introduced himself as Leif, the fearful expression from her face gone though it was replaced with an unsure one, "My name is Aurora. And my dragon is Stardust. She is a Fury, but...I don't think she's a Night Fury like yours. More like a.....Light Fury?"

"A Light Fury?" Leif repeats, unfamiliar to the term. "But, the book doesn't say anything about a Light Fury..."

Toothless regards the white dragon next to him with curiosity matching that of Stardust's. Toothless eventually lets out a low sound of greeting after he finally judges that she didn't pose any threat to him, despite their initial meeting. As Toothless does that, Leif looks down at Aurora and says, "Where did you come from? It had to be far away for you to be able to bring back a dragon I've never heard of."

"We're from a village far off named Philonia. Its not well heard of." Aurora said simply, "Stardust wasn't even known of there so its not surprising there's never been one here either. There used to b Night Furies in Philonia but they were all killed and had gone extinct much before I was even born. I had read about them, but never thought I would ever see one. The only thing is that, all the ones I read about were indeed Night Furies. Never once did I hear about a Light Fury until I discovered my dragon. She might be a breed maybe?"

When the male night fury made a low sound in greeting to her, the dragoness made a higher pitched clicking sound in greeting back to him, doing a small spin as she flew, obviously very happy to see another dragon that was her breed, even if he was a different color. It didn't matter. A Fury was a Fury, and this meant she wasn't the last one like she had thought and Aurora had told her. After all, both females had thought there were no other Furies. Now though, they knew they were wrong. There was another Fury. And who knew, maybe if this Fury was here and still alive, maybe there were other Fury's still out there and alive. That thought made her even happier.

She gave another happy sound, looking at the other Fury again before she saw what had to be this boy's village in sight and swooped down to land, approaching the dragon and two humans, inspecting and making sure her human was fine after the flight. Pressing her nose against Aurora she could feel the girl shivering. While being against the human boy had been somewhat warmer, being taken out of icy waters and flown through the air didn't exactly help her get warmer at all. As the girl slid off the dragon after Lier and stumbled slightly when her feet hit the ground, still slightly numb from the freezing cold and caught herself on the boy before her dragon rushed over and put her snout under her and helped her onto her back, "Thanks girl..." She softly petted the dragon who purred before the dragoness began following the Night Fury and human male back into the village of Berk.
