Leon looked at her, his eyes both sad and scared at the same time. 'Is there anything that can be done? Any counter-curse, antidote, anything at all?' He asked, he could manage most things, anything less than a miracle he would do his best to achieve. He still had his full powers, because he ran away before they could clip his wings, he just needed to know what to do.

Avery moved to lean against the wall and pulled her arm sleeve up. A mark was appearing where her former boss mark was at. "Crap...not a curse...his trying to rebond me to him...I won't be able to run...his trying to force it...the whole way to fight this is with someone else to be my tie to this plain...but I don't have anyone I can ask to do that...not anymore..." She flinched.

'What about me?' Leon asked. 'Mutual agreement. We keep each other safe, we help each other out, as neutral beings. No light, no darkness.' He said, a plan forming in his head. 'I help the needy, you fight the bad guys.' He chuckled. 'We could be our own brand of super heroes.'

Avery gasped, the mark glowing brighter. "If you can beat this then I'm all for it. Just hurry before...before its done..." She was in pain, this forced bonding not easy to get thru.

Leon grasped her hand in his, not one hundred per cent sure how to do this, but something inside him instinctively new. His power surged through his body and to hers, they intertwined and merged, they wouldn't share powers but they were bonded. The bonding between an angel and a demon would be much stronger than two demons because of the difference in energies, which means she would be tied to him more than her old boss, which means as long as Leon lived and their bond remained intact, he could never get to her.

Avery cried out as the energy ran thru her, feeling her bosses hold shatter and Alex's take over. She gasped as her eyes glowed gold again then she went limp, falling against the wall and breathing hard. She closed her eyes, the room spinning

Leon looked down at Avery, by the looks of it, it had worked. He checked her arm, and noticed the demon brand wasn't there. They were both neutral now, the in between, the rift between good and evil. It was going to take some getting used to, that was for sure.

Avery said "By the way....name is Avery...Avery Shade...and I;m a Shadow Demon..." She coughed, her whole body sore. She would have to get rid of her former boss for this...that was for sure

Leon smiled. 'My name is Leon Rutherford, and I'm a rebellious angel.' He chuckled. The situation he was in could not be more strange,it was like the world had flipped upside down for him.

She looked at him, her eyes partly open as she held out her hand. "Pleasure to meet you Leon..." She tried to get up, using the wall as a support. She knew she would be useless for a little while, but she would push thru it and try and do something anyway. Demons were stubborn.

Leon smiled. 'The pleasure's all mine.' He looked at her, worried. 'Are you sure you should be getting up so quickly. I really think that, given the circumstances, you should at least rest for a while.' He wasn't sure if he would get through to her, she didn't seem like the type who often received genuine concern, and she didn't seem like the type who was receptive to advice, medical or otherwise.

Avery slipped and hit the floor again, cursing in latin. She sighed and said "Might be better to take is easy...but I need to ward the place again..." She tried to get up again, a little bit more steady. But not much.

Alex shook his head. 'Oh no you don't. You forget, you're not the only one in this room with magical capabilities. I'll do the warding. You rest.' He looked at her sternly, waiting for her answer. He was just as capable as she was at hiding them, but she didn't seem to realise that.

She looked at him, about to answer back but then sighed and said "Alright...I'll be on the couch..." She got up and moved over to the couch, laying down and covering her face. She kept forgetting he was an Angel. The other angels she had met were...well, one tracked minded soilders of heaven. Leon was...different.

Leon walked around the room speaking in various tongues, protecting the place as his energy flowed through him and out into the room like an endless fountain. He had never used so many different wards on one place before, but he knew this had to be well protected, especially now. It was a permanent residence for both him and Avery, both of which were wanted, and had bounties on their heads. They could be attacked at any moment. He had to postpone that until Avery had recovered.

Avery watched Leon work till she dosed off, breathing lightly. She hadn't slept in days, so the small break was all she need to catch the sleep her body needed. She was a light sleeper so if something happened, she would be ready.

Leon, once finished, folded himself into a sitting position on the floor and began meditating. It was how he relaxed, centring himself, which was useful should he be attacked, he could focus his powers with meditation. He would be ready if someone attacked.

Avery started muttering in her sleep, turning her head. A couple beads of sweat ran down her face as she turned over, her voice getting a little louder. In her dream she was trying to reach a young man that was far away from her, a dark figure with red eyes right behind him. "Brother! Turn around! Run! Thomas run!"

Leon dropped from mid-air. He hadn't even realised he'd been floating. He stood up, brushed himself off, and hurried to Avery's side. He gently shook her awake. 'Avery?' He asked. 'Wake up.' He told her, hoping that she would. He wasn't sure how far into the dream she was, but he knew that, sometimes, dreams could be dangerous. It depends on how many psychic enemies the person has, and it was a safe bet that Avery had at least one.

Avery shot up, breathing hard. Her wrist was glowing where the mark used to be as she took sharp breathes. She looked at him and said " thanks....I shouldn't have dosed off..." She held her face, shaking
