James sighed. "Well, I guess I'll meet you two at the gate in the morning," he said. "I want you both to be there before dawn though." He looked at Bane. "Got that?" I want to leave before anyone that's hunting Megumi is awake."

Bane nodded and said "You got it, boss. We will be there" Megumi nodded, sighing as she did so.

During the night Megumi was sitting on the roof of the house, watching the stars. "How did we end up like this master..."

In a clearing in the distance that night, a tornado made of fire would form. It was James testing a new jutsu, and apparently he was successful at using it.

Megumi saw the blaze and said "interesting ninja..." She laid down on the roof, looking up at the stars.

The next morning bane and Megumi was waiting by the gate, Megumi looking better

James walked up right on time. "Wow. I'm actually surprised. You're both early. I thought Bane would be late," he said, chuckling. "Alright. Let's go before the sun comes up. I want to get a head start before we start being hunted."

Bane rolled his eyes and said "You act like those hunters are waiting for us on the edge of town. I thought you two took care of the hunters when you ran into them last night?" Megumi pulled her bag onto her back, shaking her head.

"The shinobi of the Village Hidden in Moonlight are always being hunted. It's the reason they rarely leave their village. They have unique abilities similar to a Kekkei Genkai," James said.

Bane looked at James and said "Wait...that can't be the only.." He stopped dead and stopped running, looking around. Megumi paused and said "Bane?" Bane was looking around, his eyes glowing bright lime green

James looked at Bane. "What's wrong? Is someone nearby?" he asked. There were a few lit embers floating around his right hand, as if his arm could ignite at any moment. He closed his eyes and went into his Serene State, allowing him to feel the flow of everything around him, and he tried to sense if anyone was nearby.

Bane sighed and said "I thought there was....but I can't sense it now. Might have been nothing. Come on" he took off running again, Megumi frowning then doing the same. She had felt something too, but more that it was someone she knew

James followed them because he was unable to sense anything either. He still kept his Serene State so nobody could sneak up on them though. He also used his wind abilities so he could hear what he liked to call the "Voice of the Wind."

After a long run for most of the day Bane stopped and said "We better find a village nearby to stay in. We can't risk going at night to the Moon village..." Megumi nodded, looking around again. Something wasn't right.

James nodded. "Yeah." Then he looked at Megumi. "You feel it too, don't you? Something feels off."

Megumi nodded, looking around again. "The shadows...they are restless...they feel something is wrong. Something is tailing us but is hiding all too well. And something else..." She rubbed her eyes and Bane said "Lets get to the village fast...I think we are all just in need of some sleep"

James said, "You two go. I'll get the wind to hide you until you reach the village, but I'll hold off the attackers for now. Maybe I'll knock them unconscious and then I'll catch up to you."

Megumi shook her head and said "if I have learned anything from these guys, they will only go after their target. There's no point you waisting chakra tonight when I doubt they will show their faces. Let's just get to the village and take turns on watch" bane nodded and said "better plan then any, James"

"True, but I'm still keeping my Serene State up," James said. "I don't want any surprises."

Both ninjas nodded and headed for the next village. A couple hours later they were sitting in a hotel room Megumi had somehow gotten even though the place was sold out. She was in the bathroom getting cleaned up when bane said "I don't like this James. Not one bit"
