[IC] ODSTs: Hunters Become Hunted (Datadogie + kalinsovrin)

James and Victor move to the front of them and made quick progress to the stairs. They moved down them as quickly as they could and then waited at the door to floor E2

Sarah aims at the door, and Mary scans a keycard on a panel next to the door. The door opens, revealing a few grunts, pressing random buttons on a computer that dominated E2. The room itself was quite large, and had a pelican in the center, and what looks like huge bay doors above it. Sarah quickly takes out the creatures, then begins to run to the pelican. Mary runs over as well. The inside of the pelican was slightly different, the seats were a little tighter together, but there seemed to be a few extra. Both wings of the pelican seemed to be a little larger than usual, and the barrel of the gun seemed to be a bit longer than usual. "Spartan. Fly this, please." Mary says. "Sarah, unlock the bay doors. James, get on this craft and get ready for takeoff." Sarah quickly runs to a panel where the grunts were.

James got in the pelican after victor. He didn't care who gave the order he was just happy to getting off planet.

Victor sat in the pilots chair and got the pelican started up.

Sarah pressed a button, and the bay doors opened up. As she did this, a squad of the small masked aliens trotted in the door, saw what was happening, and began to nail the first person they saw. Sarah began to fire back at the grunts. Mary begins to fire from inside of the pelican, too. Sarah quickly runs toward the pelican, leaping in. Mary turns and shouts "Get us out of here!"

James makes sure that Sarah is fully in the pelican. He hits the rear seal and the ramp starts to rise quickly. Victor gets them out of the base and headed spaceward by the time the rear doors are sealed.

Sarah sighs, and sits down quickly. "Thank god that's over." She says. She then feels a little pain, and looks down. There was a pink needle looking thing in her stomach. She didn't even have enough time to curse before she slumped in her seat, unconscious, as the needle began to glow a strange pink colour. Mary looks at her. "Shit, she's wounded. I need to call into my prowler, and get it's location." She walks up to the front of the pelican, and climbs into the co-pilot's seat. She begins to type on the panel, then begins to converse with her prowler.
"Cloaked Dagger, do you read me?"
"Affirmative, Mary." Came the reply, which sounded slightly synthesized, the voice of a female AI.
"Hello, Zee. I need your location, ASAP. We were right. They came. I have wounded on this pelican. We need to fall back." Mary replies.
"Okay, Mary. I'll tell the captain. I'll also make sure to tell him that you owe him a beer. I don't know why. I just feel like you do." Zee begins to giggle, then the COM snaps off. Mary chuckles. She had always liked Zee. On the pilot's panel, the location of Cloaked Dagger was broadcast.

(Needler round?)

(Yup.)

Victor had seen the needler shard and almost jumped through the seat and door. He snagged James's bio foam and ripped the spike out. He filled the wound with biofoam and then waited a few moments and then help the spike close to his chest. It flashed and blew up there. His shields took the blast and he sat down next to Sarah holind he up.

(He has been deployed against they grunts before so he has seen this before. I will explain it in my next post.)

As soon as Mary had seen Victor jump out of the seat, she transferred controls to the co-pilot's station and continued to fly. "We'll be there in ten minutes, I think."
Sarah remains unconscious.

james took off his helmet. " What the hell were you doing?" he yelled at the spartan.

"This is not the first planet to fall to these aliens. all spartans have faced these aliens but blue team has the best record of pushing them back but even then the planet falls. this planet will be burned and the surface will be smooth as glass when its done. the pink little shard would have exploded and ripped her body apart. i watched this happen to a whole squad of ODSTs. your lucky i acted like i did but if you want i could snap her neck it would have the same effect." victor said.

" sorry i just dont like the thought that i almost lost the last member of my squad" James said.

[datadogie]

Sarah groans lightly, remaining unconscious.
Mary approaches Cloaked Dagger, and maneuvers into the pelican bay. "Okay. You'll all be debriefed. Apart from Sarah. She needs proper attention." Mary says, getting out of the seat and opening the rear door and letting a pair of medics walk in, pick up Sarah and begin to walk to the medical bay.

James just sat there for a while thinking of what he was going to do next.

Victor walked off the pelican and went to the work out room.

Mary walked up to the bridge to give her report. In the work room was Helen, another Spartan, out of her armour. She was busy punching away at a punching bag, practicing hand-to-hand combat. She had a grin on her face as she punches the bag

Victor walks in and sighs " we lost another planet. how are we even supposed to stop these aliens when their weapons out rank our own." he left that in the air and went to the track.

James stood and left the pelican. he had lost his whole squad again. why was he cursed to keep losing people. the only one left was sarah and she had almost been killed.

[datadogie]

"We just shoot and don't stop shooting until they are dead." Helen replies. She goes over to the weights and begins to lift them with ease.
Sarah wakes up wearing medical robe, and looks around. She felt a faint pain in her stomach, but that was easily ignored.

James stood outside the door the the bridge. he was waiting for them to call him in and quiz him on his experience. he had thought about what to do next and he knew he couldnt leave the ODSTs like he wanted to.

[datadogie]

Mary walks out. "I've been told to talk to you in private." She says. "Follow me." She turns and walks, heading to the cabins, to an empty cabin.
Helen smiles softly at Victor. "If you want, I'll give you a weight lifting competition to take your mind off of everything."

James enters the cabin and stands in the corner of the room.

Victor shakes his head " we both know it will be a tie. The only spartan that we have a challenge doing this with is Jorge or John when he's not busy with something."

[datadogie]

"Heh. Backing out of a challenge. Funny thing is, you would've won." Helen walks over to him and taps his armour.

Mary looks at James. "I have discussed with my superior what the current situation is. Everything you hear here is classified." She looks him in the eyes. "I wish for you, Victor and Sarah to accompany me on my travels." She simply says.
