Well, actually it just messes with and destroys high-traffic brainwaves, so sentient or really smart creatures will essentially turn into mindless creatures that have no sort of instinct, memory, or control at all.

I already have the thing that kills the sentient mind. With the hivemind, something to just disrupt organic matter would be needed. The Valks have survived what with destroy another race; they can certainly fight off a hivemind thing. They are much more aware of their surroundings than all the other creatures, since they can sense the area around them. Can't ambush if they see through walls, huh?

I believe your "see through walls" and such relies on other senses, which can also be avoided. I think ambushes can still be set up with some minor changed targets... I think we share similar senses... Except I get to use the hosts eyes as well if they are intact, or add my own onto my creations >:)

Also, wouldn't you have to shoot every mind, thinker form and sub brain in existence to destroy the hive consciousness? (And then hope the hive doesn't just recycle the useless forms and rebuild a new central consciousness). Unless its an AoE thing, but I presume that would merely effect a specific area and also screw yourself over if you entered it... I feel pretty safe

A mass-detection sense. Unless you're like one of those phantom multidimensional creatures that don't need to use a core, you have mass. And mass is what is detected. It's kinda like a mental map of everything around you, limited only by large amounts of dense material. In a cave, you could sense any tunnels that are near the tunnel that you are in, and very far down the tunnel itself.

Still working on that. The sense is based off of a series called "Trilisk _____", which you can, at the very least, find on the Amazon bookstore.

I'm thinking maybe like an advanced form of electrolocation, like what sharks do except a thousand times stronger. Dunno yet.

Yeah, sounds like it might work. Might confer a dreadful disadvantage though, it'd be horrible if there was a continuous loud noise, I think they'd suffer horribly in high noise levels, like bats do. Lol, I can imagine a parody where their enemies defeat them through blasting out non stop death metal xD

Electrolocation. Not echolocation. They aren't as sensitive to sound, they around sensitive to mass and movement. If they were to have pilots, large battles and weapons that fire loads of projectiles, whether turrets that fire hundreds of high-speed projectiles, or turrets that fire loads of missiles or flak. That's why they mainly just have lasers and that disruption cannon. Of course, by the time someone figures out that "Hey! That screws up your brain and kills your very mind!", you'll be dead, and unable to send a message. Unless, of course, it was in a big fleet battle, in which there will be nearly half a dozen of them, and will be sweeping through you.

That's a good way of forcing peace. Anyone who attacks just *boop*! brain dead.

If you find them, and if you do find them, they will fight back. If you're set on isolating me and attacking just me with a giant amount of hivemind minions, then I'd be okay, if I can at least get the chance for aid from other people, such as the friendly robots that are the opposite of your hostile organics. The exact opposite, actually. I'll even support it if I've got the Hivemind on one side, and the... Auxillium Collective, I think, on the other side, with the Valks as a sort of strategic point. After all, with the disrupter weapon, one could effectively stun the hivemind, disrupting the whole linked-y-ness, and by using it on the Mind itself, it would stop it. It wouldn't be dead, so there wouldn't be the need of making a new one, so really, the Hivemind would effectively come to a complete standstill in terms of organization, and the make-new-Mind instinct wouldn't kick in cause it's still there, just not giving any orders.
