Ive been brainstorming this idea for a while the site was down. This would be an RPG where the players can play from characters every corner of the empire and beyond. It would be set during the Civil War between Marius and Sulla, a time of deep political ambition and violence. I'm sorry if it seems light on the details, but we can hammer out more soon.

I say yes to this. If I can play royalty or the emperor's daughter I'm in. Rich and powerful - awesome!

I have a gladiator character I'd love to use, although he could be adopted to most roles really.

Well, this is before the rise of Caeser and Rome is still a republic, but there certainly are noble families in Rome and they would all certainly have daughters.

And hell yes bring a gladiator to this game. I got this idea off of a DND campaign that I run and one of the guys is a gladiator.

I'm down for this. I remember someone wanting to start a similar game last year, but never went through with it so I still got ideas I can use.

I have a buddy that would love this as well. I'll send him this way.

I'm still chewing on the noble lady vs the female gladiator. I could rock both, so I shall ponder on it.

Could I be an oracle? Or something to do with the gods?

If we're going for historical accuracy, certainly not a female gladiator.

Oh that's fun.

Historical accuracy - Are we playing closely to this or liberally? That would assist in making the decision certainly easy.

There were some female gladiators but it was rare. And I wont let a little thing like historical accuracy get in the way of people having fun. And priests religion like characters are allowed. Also, you don't all have to be Romans. Barbarians, Greeks, Egyptians, Persians are all acceptable.

She could be a Christian thrown to the lions who decides to pick up a sword and fight rather then be lion poop

Hmmm. I like this. The lion poop part could be left out, but I see the reason for the dramatic effect. I'll think on it after I see what everyone else ends up being.

As I said, I wont let historical accuracy get in the way of fun, but this time period is about 80 years before the birth of Jesus. Still its up to you.

*laughs* Um, no Jesus, no Christianity. I'll watch what happens and if nothing else I'll make a complex character that is royalty from another land and due to treachery sold into slavery and put in the gladiator games to remove her from her owners care seeing that she's an opinionated pain in the butt.

I'll keep thinking on it. :) Thanks for the ideas.

You've known me longer than anyone else on here, so if you say so - then it's so! :) Write me a scene and paint me a picture like you used to.
