New Idea- Nation + Gods Rp

So my Idea was that about 4 or 5 people play a nation, and a few other people a pantheon of gods. These gods would have there own agendas and generally hate each other.
The gods could aid a nation, or the exact opposite. A nation could have a patron deity or worship all gods, which might be good or bad.

Hmmm I'm thinking. I'm not sure what you would have as appropriate? Magic?

I thought of a kind of low fantasy world, so magic would be not very relevant.

If you would do that, which is a actually nice idea, I would say he should be part of the nation. So if you want that than you wont play only one character but the nation with the demigod as their leader/high priest/general/champion etc.

Hmm well, if I do play an "actual deity" I was thinking of. . .
Either an Agricultural Deity or maybe Sun God.

A deity of the sun and agriculture would be good, since a dry and a bad harvest can decide a war faster than any battle.
God of wisdom or war sounds okay, btw your god could have more than one, as long as it is within boundaries.

I now find myself wondering why there's so many NRP's trying to throw in as many gimmicks into their RP as possible. I honestly can not see myself finding any way of using this to do much of anything.

Hmm well, if we can have more than one. . . I'll go with Rain, Sun and Harvest.

Well I think it could be used for many things or go completely wrong. Depends on the skill and cooperation of the writers I would guess.

Sounds about right? What is the setting like? Human focused or more broadly fantastic?

My plan would be for a dragon-god. Themed around fire, destruction, and the ferocity of nature.

Low Fantasy, no elves and dwarfs etc.
However thinks like prophetic dreams, potions and occult rituals exist.
