Standing at about 5'3" and weighing a mere 121 pounds (135 pounds with the added weight of her leg), her body is small, thin, and delicate looking. While she is young looking, Akira is far from unattractive, with a heart-shaped face, angular, pale eyes, and asymmetrical, colorful hair. Doll-like lips and a small nose give her a porcelain appearance, and blue orbs glare off in an intense expression at all times. Her hair, once probably straight and black, has been chopped awkwardly and semi-dyed red. Her body is mostly flat all around and nearly rock hard from her intense training. Muscles line her arms and leg, and abs are present on her lower abdomen and stomach. Her hands and feet are surprisingly large for her small stature, and her legs make up a majority of her height. Her left leg is almost entire bionic, save for the remaining flesh just below of hip, and it is normally hidden behind long pants and skirts due to her dislike for its appearance. Akira generally dresses in cool colors, and enjoys feeling free and comfortable. Tank tops and sweats are a norm, as well as flowing scarves, tight suits, and anything else she finds appealing to the eyes. Her feet are almost protected by tabi, it's almost as if she doesn't own any other kind of shoe, and she often covers her head with hoods or her personalized gas-mask. Akira holds a slight interest in makeup, and has quite a few tattoos, including ultraviolet red spider lilies, black and white koi, and quite a few circuit board designs. [Uncolored Sketch](http://41.media.tumblr.com/6f0dd4c6cc411060921988bb6770e1f8/tumblr_nhqgto7lb41rtsh7fo1_1280.jpg) **Abilities:** As silent as the night, yet with the force of a tiger, Akira uses stealth and flow in her martial arts. Her strikes are swift and thoughtless, gained from years of mindless training, and her body moves like water, flowing easily in circles as it draws her enemy closer to their demise. Akira is a non-bender, and as such must rely simply on her body to stay alive. She has mastered the use of the jōhyō, or rope dart, a weapon that relies on good eyes and precise hits. Akira has studied how benders move, and implements some of their styles into her own fights. The waterbender's fluid, defensive-offense helps to keep Akira ready for counters, the earthbender's rigid strength and tight stances help keep Akira grounded, the airbender's flexibility and light feet help Akira dodge and overwhelm, and finally the firebender's willpower and powerful strikes allow her to take down her enemy. Her eyes are her main weapon, allowing her to analyze and remember a fight style, as well as point out distinct weaknesses that an enemy might possess. Thanks to Master Shu, Akira is also a bit knowledgeable on using other weapons, like swords, knives, and bo staffs. Training under the Jiyū gave her time to practice her aim as well, allowing her to be able to use smaller, more accurate guns with only slight trouble. Other than her martial arts, Akira is a well-off mechanic/vehicle expert. Raised by a pair of geniuses, Akira experienced first hand the wonders of technology after the accident that took off her leg. Inspired by the bionics, she became very interested in computers and machines, and focused most of her mental power on building or repairing broken tech. She became interested in learning how to drive and pilot many vehicles during her teen years, and with some help from the local mechanic she was able to practice her driving. She spent a few more years learning how to drive and repair technology under the supervision of the Slums Mechanic, and due to those she is almost always looking for scrap metal to use in her repairs. In times of dire need, Akira relies of the force of her bionic leg, which packs a pretty hefty punch. She is also generally agile and flexible, allowing her to rush in and out of danger on a whim. Due to an intense interest in weapons, Akira has also become interested in using her jōhyō as an art form. The tip of the heavy dart is full of LED lights, and it will glow intensely during fights or street performances, allowing for some interesting swirls of colors to appear in even the darkest of streets. She is also a natural born leader, making her the ideal choice to lead the rebels into missions and battles. Her duel stun batons are normally held on her back by a sling, and her personalized jhoyo almost always coiled at her side like a whip. She also sports a pistol, holstered on her right leg, and spare ammo. Other than that, Akira carries a small tablet, a hand-made computer jammer, and anything else she'll need in a brown rucksack. **Personality:** With an ever intense aura and an almost always emotionless face, Akira is not an easily approachable person. She enjoys her alone time, and while loneliness does plague her from time to time she never lets it show. A workaholic, she is normally stuck in her apartment room, keeping tabs on the underground problems of the nations, as well as planning new schemes to better help the freedom fighter's efforts. Cynical and cold, her glares are rumored to stop hearts, and her tongue is sharper than most blades. Akira is unafraid to insult and berate anyone who annoys her, and while she'll never raise a finger against an ally most are afraid that she'll turn to beatings if angered too much. Other than annoyance, nothing really appears on Akira's face in terms of emotion. She is normally poker-faced, never really seeing the need to show off how she feels physically, and due to this she has become rather distant. Smiles are a rarity, tears are even rarer. Akira is almost always happy when she's working or training. Being able to move her body or head is a sure fire way to put her in a good move, and in the silence of a garage, her room, or a dojo she is peaceful and cheery (term used lightly). In crowds, though she rarely shows it, Akira is very uncomfortable, and even when she is just speaking to one or two strangers she can stammer and shake with anxiety. However anxious she is around you, though, Akira is naturally attracted to good people, and feels a heavy need to defend those in need of defending. She is especially protective of her close friends, and would even put her life on the line to save them if needed. She enjoys it when other depend on her, though she herself is heavily independent. The only person Akira feels she can truly depend on and trust is Lee, her missing brother. In fact, he is one of the main reasons she joined the freedom fighters. Due to her upbringing, Akira is extremely street smart. She knows her way around the slums of Republic City, and is well known around the area as "Red". Once the leader of the junior motorcycle gang "Red Riders", she could be considered a retired gang leader, and thanks to the gang's heavy influence on the terrain she is feared by most street-sleepers and gang heads. On the streets she is almost an entirely different person. From quietly annoyed to openly assertive, she's not afraid to throw a few evil looks or threaten a few skinheads to get what she needs from them. Her independence was bore from her street life, and while she has had many masters in the past they all seemed to help her from afar. Akira disliked getting help from anyone, and even to this day that remains. In a fight she is near emotionless, and her eyes are intense and focused. Akira relies on her speed and flexibility, as well as her quick gaze. In terms of mercy, she never really knows how to hold back, and must be told to stop if she looses herself in a fight. Akira always attempts to appear emotionless around the enemy, knowing that even a slight facial expression can change the way one thinks. Other than that, Akira enjoys meditating, though has trouble concentrating when with other people. She only really trusts Tai-Mei, but she will do anything her higher ups command of her. She has a soft spot for kids and animals, and absolutely loves yoga. **Brief Bio: **WIP

Name: Kai "Blaze" Sorova Age: 19 Gender: M Element: Fire Appearance: ![The blaze](http://media-cache-ec0.pinimg.com/736x/08/07/ee/0807eefe5c22943887549c56fbfe6b8a.jpg) Pleas ignore the fire on his head ![Without mask](https://imagizer.imageshack.us/v2/469x330q90/842/z11gw.jpg) Abilities: Of course, Kai can control fire as a fire bender, which allows him great offensive abilities such as fireballs, spouts of flame and anything else really. He is not incredibly powerful yet so don't expect him to go supernova but he can continuously onslaught his enemies with attacks for a good time. His defence is limited to a firewall he can bring up in front and around him however this is not very strong. He also knows free-running (at a mirror's edge level). Other than this he has a basic know-how of how technology works, due to the society everyone lives in. As a fighter, he is not a majestic one nor a very quick one but uses his strength and damage potential which results to him brawling it out in a hand to hand fight so if it wasn't for his bending abilities then martial artists or anyone with actual skill that hasn't derived form street fighting would have no problem beating him in a fair one on one fight although he will always try to persevere, no matter the odds. Personality: Brash, hot tempered and a bit of a live wire. Kai lives for thrills and does this through many ways such as starting fights to free-running (nothing showy, just at a mirror's edge level that's all)across the rooftops of the city. He can become very aggressive however when he finds friends he will become compassionate and treat his friends warmly, and defends them before himself, even if his best defence is a good offence. He rarely lets up and will see a task done and stay true to his points of view, making him honest but sometimes overly so. Excitement easily gets the better of him and challenges, mysteries and adrenaline rushes can become priority sometimes. Quite simply, he lives for a good time Brief Bio: Before starting to use his fire powers, Kai was a troublemaker in school but as he would stand up to bully's and those who oppressed people they didn't deem "worthy", this landed him in lots of physical fights. He then discovered free-running as a way to escape school life and get away from responsibilities. He would be gone hours after school simply for a run. He first started using his powers half way through a fight where a gang tried to jump him in an ally when he was 16. Nearly beaten, Kai lashed out in a last-ditched attempt, unfortunately sending about fireballs from the palm of his hands. These didn't hit anyone but that still scared the gang away, since then, Kai has been messing about, using them to feed his adrenaline addiction to this day

**NAME:** Jun Khando **AGE:** 23 **GENDER:** Male **ELEMENT:** Air **APPEARANCE:** ![enter image description here](http://data1.whicdn.com/images/71698379/large.jpg "enter image title here") Jun is marked by both an unusually tall height at just over 6'1” and an unhealthily thin weight of 130lbs – far beyond what he describes as merely a “long and lanky” shape. His ankles and wrists are weak, his lightweight bones plagued with brittleness and his body cursed with the unfortunate inability to maintain muscle. On colder, rainier days, a limp is emphasised as his joints lock up. While not an illness per se, Jun's condition is a combination of unlucky genetics and absolute refusal to fuse himself with technology as many of his family suffering the same plight have already done. Outwardly, though, Jun's face is always an unmistakeable picture of cheer and delight. With grey eyes, pale skin (which only adds to the sickly feeling) and the delicate features typical of an airbender heritage, the only thing contradicting his almost-traditional choice of apparel is his haircut, or lack thereof. With unkempt curly brown hair, untameable for the most part, he is by no means a monk. Overall, with his ever-present wolfish grin, Jun appears much younger than his actual age – almost as if he is still a teenager. Jun dresses in light synthetic fabrics – typically fawn and black to provide the illusion of real leather – though in terms of actual armour value it is rather light, focusing on flexibility and speed as well as being able to bend with him to prevent tearing or stiffness. He has an unusual preference for caps and has a collection of varying colours, as well as a bandana holding his long hair in place. During airbending, his old-fashioned slippers often fall off, though her refuses to replace them with a pair of shoes with actual laces. Mostly, Jun stands out for his *lack* of obvious technology in his dress and sort-of adherence to the primitive 'old ways' of elemental bending. He does, however, carry various interesting items in his many pockets that may include smoke bombs and flash grenades, portable holograms as well as a whole pocket full of plastic zipties to help with his vigilantism. His only lethal weapon is a steel garrotte, though he prefers to use whatever he can pick up around him – lead pipes are a favourite. **ABILITIES:** A talented airbender despite his woeful physical condition (which is surprisingly good, considering), Jun's skills in bending are not formally trained but easily effective due to the comparative rarity of his powers. Choosing to hone his speed over improving his pitiful strength was a wise choice – he is extremely swift, acrobatic in his movements and particularly good at evading attacks, following a similar style to the ancient Air Nomads. Through years of practice, his speed is well above the average bender's, though he focuses almost too much on that one area to tire out his opponent and *then* strike. Life in an impoverished area of the city has given him more than enough unpredictable attacks for his arsenal, and his fighting style is far from generic now. A few years of formal martial arts training by a has-been monk serves him well when added to his tactical use of gadgets – though nothing too high tech. Stealth is not his strong point, but cunning is, and he's not above using dirty techniques (like pocket sand!) to achieve his goals of not-dying. Jun uses the various wires and cables around the city to make his way around and has a good knowledge of alternate paths that require excellent balance – or an airbender's abilities – to cross. More than once he has taken a bedsheet from a washing line for a joyride using the air currents that howl between the draughty heights of the skyscrapers. He has had no luck creating an air sphere beneath him to whizz around on, but can push an enemy back when it comes to the raw force of the wind, wielding it almost like a blade at times. His day job – to predict the weather for the various television stations – has made him quite adept and guessing whether it's going to be rain or shine, too. **PERSONALITY:** Jun is, first and foremost, an extrovert. He dislikes loneliness – both in himself and others – and can be quite heavy-handed in his attempts to erase it, making friends with those who have none. He's about as subtle as a brick in that regard, easy-going and pleased to make friends “just for the sake of it”. As a dreamer, Jun has often been called lazy and foolish, his ambitions to become a police officer belittled more than once due to how impossible they were; his sense of justice was far stronger than his weak body. He is prone to impulsive decisions – such as helping to fight the crimes he sees while on his routine wandering of the city – but lives a strict path of no regrets and no apologies. It can be infuriating to others, since he refuses to repent for past actions and see that he has done wrong. It borders on the arrogant. **BRIEF BIO:** Jun comes from a family of airbenders fallen by the wayside due to poor health conditions and a lack of recognisable talent. While bending is common amongst his siblings and parents and aunts and uncles, very few of them opted to continue practising their childhood abilities due to the inevitable end of it: better to receive bionics and be able to work, than not and have only bending to live on. Jun, however, swore not to follow this path despite having more reason than others to replace his weak bones – he loved the freedom too much to choose a different path, and was too proud once on it to admit he was wrong to follow his dreams. His childhood, as a result, was marked by hard work spent in – arguably – the wrong places. School would be a footnote of future records of his achievements, he often told himself, and found himself other things to do rather than study. Jun never was the most intelligent, though he could have passed if he applied himself; however, he dropped out early and was eventually forced to get a job with the weather station on family connections alone, doomed to a monotonous application of airbending for the rest of his life. And then he decided that he couldn't become a functional member of society – couldn't allow the various crimes of the world to go unpunished – and thus began the barely-interesting story of the unnamed vigilante, preventing robberies and murders in alleyways everywhere. With how reckless he's been, it's a miracle he hasn't died yet, but it turns out all of the hours he put in as a child and teenager in an effort to become a big-name hero really did work.

Name: Terra Onoki Age: 21 Gender: Female Element: Earth, Metal Appearance: ![Tal Onoki](http://wallpaperwind.com/thumbnails/detail/20131002/paintings%20vocaloid%20glasses%20brown%20eyes%20gas%20masks%20green%20hair%20anime%20megpoid%20gumi%20anime%20girls%20hood_wallpaperwind.com_15.jpg "Tal Onoki") Abilities: Is skilled with both earth and metal bending, and uses them frequently. Has 'mastered' her own fighting style with earth and metal bending, relying on techniques from several other styles. She is rather light and agile for an earth bender. Is skilled with lock picking, breaking and entering, and hiding in plain sight. Personality: Tal is a risk taker, and isn't afraid to step in waters that go over her head. See is quite adapted to those kinds of scenarios, and works well in most to all environments and situations. While she does wish that things could be simpler like that had been quite some time ago, she certainly doesn't argue with the luxuries of the modern era. She tried to make himself a civilized person, but can't help but take a peek at wallets every so often. With her metal gloves and bits of metal in her shoes, Tal and scale walls and real damage with ease. Brief Bio: Tal grew up in a group of thieves and scoundrels, but despite this, she didn't grow up to be a rat like most expected. She instead used her skills with earth and metal bending to work at a security and locksmith store, where her talents were put to use. She had this job since the age of twelve, and the young woman had yet to find a lock or house she couldn't get into. She had helped many people get back into their homes, and even create unique looking keys and accessories out of metal on the side for some extra money. While she does use his talents to help people, she does still take notes on the locks and designs on the houses just in case she would need to get inside again for some reason or another.

Character Sheet **Name:** Tartok Oshiro **Age:** Twenty-Two **Gender: ** Male **Element:** Water **Appearance:** ![Of the Southern Water Tribe](http://img3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20140509022820/fisheyeplacebo/images/1/12/Fisheye_Placebo_2.jpeg "Tartok") **Abilities:** Despite his being a country bumpkin from the outskirts of the Southern Water Tribe, Tartok is a gifted Martial Artist, like his own way of doing things, he reflects sharpness and precision in his Water-bending while still maintaining a serene fluidity as well as learning the fiercer ways of the olden Southern Water Tribe Warriors, even carrying a Water Tribe Boomerang with him. Keeping within himself an inner peace and a mind that is constantly adjusting to any given situation, Tartok has the foundations of Ice and the adaptability of Water. He prefers a defensive style that counters with aggressive attacks. Well taught in the ways of traditional and ancient water bending techniques, he is old-fashioned and is stubbornly adjusted to combating newer, more modern bending styles. Besides his bending, Tartok's inner peace gives him a strong spiritual peace enabling him talent in the Spiritual Arts and a good relationship with spirits, able to calm and appease the anger of spirits as well as enter the spirit world through meditation and communicate with them. Before entering the city, he taught himself techniques for urban water bending, manipulating water in an area without large bodies of them would be a much different environment and experience for Tartok and he would be prepared for such things. Tartok draws water from any place he can, anything from water towers to sewer pipes, he increases the pressure withing to release water sources for himself to bend. He has also learned to bend steam and is trying to learn to draw water from the air. As an additional water source, he carries a water bottle on a clip to his pants. **Personality:** In contrary to his age, Tartok is wise and cunning, displaying the wisdom of an old man and showing a defined maturity. Tartok knows the virtues of loyalty and friendship and provides his council to any in need of an outer opinion. Most often, he displays a cool-head and a peaceful attitude, unshaken and relaxed in almost all situations. He enjoys tranquility and meditation whenever he is not training as his own personal recreation, treasuring enlightenment as one of his favorite pastimes. Unfortunately, he is quite out of date with the newest technological advancements, his only electronic being his music player, which constantly plays sounds of the ocean and rain on loop, his own favorite playlist he listens to at all times when not talking to anybody. As a newcomer to the urban setting, he oftentimes finds himself lost amidst the maze like cityscape and often out of place with his respectful and polite old customs and ways of speaking amongst gruffer cityfolk. He harbors a growing feeling with himself that something within the city is amiss and wonders whether it is just his spirit unsettled for no reason or an omen for events to come. **Brief Bio:** Raised by his single mother in a house a few miles away from the Southern Water Tribe. He and his mother lived alone in the wilderness of the tundra, their house, a fine log cabin next to a frozen lake, the final destination on a road leading out from the Southern City before ending leading out into the still unexplored areas of the arctic. Together, they lived in a quiet environment undisturbed by any others except the occasional and very rare lost traveler who had only arrived at their doorstep by mistake. Tartok was homeschooled and taught by his mother. His mother, a powerful water bender taught him her techniques and skills as well as how to communicate with spirits. For years, just he, his mother and the spirits lived without a disturbance until one day, while his mother was out fishing, a beaten mail delivery truck sputtered and coughed down the road sometime after his 17th birthday. The mailman in the truck carried a letter and package, both addressed to Tartok himself. Reading the sender, Tartok was shocked to see it was from his father, whom he knew nothing about and knew better than to ask about. The letter was a happy birthday card from his father, the man he had inherited his surname from. Despite it being for his fifth birthday, Tartok still couldn't find himself to be angry at his father whom he had never seen. Inside the package was a music player and a map of the world, the music player, loaded with sound tracks of water in nature, was an odd present, but he still considered it thoughtful. Uncharacteristically, Tartok kept the letter and gift a secret from his mother. He knew the topic of his father always left a sad look in her eyes so he decided to not cause her grief. The map sparked a desire within himself to go out into the world and further his own training and spirit. He wanted to see what the outside world was like and decided that he would go out and see for himself when he turned twenty. Not wanting to keep _this_ a secret from his mother, he asked for her permission and was pleasantly surprised to give him her approval. She understood he could not stay there his whole life and decided to let her son go. On his twentieth birthday, with just a backpack of supplies he set out on his journey.

I decided to make an application for the Avatar instead. Note I left the bio open-ended to be able to easily fit into the story. **Name:** Toku **Age:** 17 **Gender:** Male **Element:** Fire (Earth/Air/Water) **Appearance:** ![Toku](https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/94/81/7f/94817f4b730cc2eba21ca1bb58b82b74.jpg) **Abilities:** All his life, Toku has lived in ignorance of the fact that he is the Avatar. Fire is the only element he is currently capable of bending. He has never thought about, or attempted, to bend any of the other elements. With that said, he is quite a good Firebender. However, he barely ever uses offensive techniques. Instead he uses Firebending as distractions, often to lure away the gaze of a shopkeeper about to be one loaf of bread poorer, or when escaping having been caught breaking the law in some way or another. A trick he often uses it to quickly vaporize water with hot fire to create a smoke screen of vapor. **Personality:** Toku is an immature boy, often acting rashly or simply childish. There aren't a lot of things he takes seriously, the laws of society included, but that's not to say he doesn't understand right from wrong. For all his apparant misdeeds, he's goodhearted. When he can help someone, he doesn't hesitate. Far from greedy, he shares what is his with others who needs it. He's also very curious about everything and tends to ask a lot of questions. He's easily excited, and chases exploration and fun wherever he goes. However, he does have problems with commitments, and duty. He doesn't handle big responsibilities well. **Short Bio:** All his life, Toku has lived in ignorance of the fact that he is the Avatar. Fire is the only element he is currently capable of bending. He has never thought about, or attempted, to bend any of the other elements. The first breath he took was of the polluted air in the slums of Capitol City. Once among the greatest cities in the world, it now had expansive slums stretching out as far as the eye could see. Just around the corner was the furnace of the Fire Nation, where tall chimneys were constantly spewing out smoke. Growing up, Toku rarely glimpsed the sun, as the smoke lay as a carpet in the skies. The air was thick to breathe, and the water in the bay was dark and rotten. The fond childhood memories he had from this place were few and far apart. His parents were very conservative people. They were firm believers in strict rules and harsh discipline to raise their children properly. This perception was shared by the public school system, which Toku developed a hatred for. On the opposite end of their philosophy, he would prove to be a rebellious soul. Even from an early age, he showed a disregard for the rules. He always seemed more anxious to break them than to follow them, but his intent was usually just to have fun. Having fun, even as children, was largely considered to be a waste of time. It didn't produce anything of value, and it disrupted the bleak harmony they sought to uphold. Everyone regarded Toku as a troublemaker. No matter how much discipline was handed to him, his attitude didn't change. He was a free spirit, and each punishment he took only furthered his need to break loose of the rules. When he was around ten, he was discovered to be a Firebender when he had accidentally started a fire in the school cafeteria. Whether it was completely accidental or not was the subject of some debate. This discovery though, would end up steering his life in a new direction. Five years later, when he had finished his elementary public schooling, his father sent him far north to a private Firebending academy. The academy was very expensive, but being the only Firebender among their children, his father seemed inclined to try and give Toku the best education there was. It was also a convenient way of getting rid of Toku. The school was an ancient dojo lying near the peak of dead volcano. Apart from a small village nearby, there was only nature to see. The sky was blue, only parted by white clouds. These were all new experiences for Toku, who relished every minute spent there. The school was strict, like he was used to, but it was still the best time he can remember from his youth. Master Suenzei, the head of the school, was kind and wise, but he was also stern. Any infraction of his rules could result in permanent expulsion. Yet for two whole years, Toku managed to follow all the rules. It was difficult, but it was a small price to pay for being in such a place. From Suenzei he learned not just Firebending, but of philosophy. Not just the ideas of the Fire Nation, but of all the cultures that existed. It opened up a whole new world for Toku. The things he learned about the other nations were actually more interested to him than Firebending. It was what made him leave the school after those two years. He wanted to venture across the sea, to visit all these exciting places. Yet as it would turn out, he would receive more excitement than he bargained for. A few weeks and a long sea voyage later, he was standing in the middle of Republic City. It was the most impressive city he had ever seen. Everywhere, there were huge skyscrapers, each more daunting than the next. Some were so tall, they looked like gateways to the clouds. Despite the grand architectural designs, it was the people who caught most of his attention. Seemingly, there were faces and clothes from every corner of the world. And everyone seemed incredibly busy, rushing this way and that, ignoring Toku and everyone else around them. Although large and home to many cultures, it wasn't a place he felt immediately at home at. The people seemed distant, and the city seemed cold and uninviting. At home, he was used to all the neighbors knowing each other, and took the time to greet each other in the street. It didn't seem like that was the case here. Yet he explored with glee, and talked with as many people as he could. Although they didn't seem very inclined to talk to strangers, Toku thought it was fun all the same. After a day of walking and talking, he sought for a place to rest for the night. The first night he spent in this city, he spent in the park. Lacking money, he was sleeping on the bare grass until he was abruptly woken by a two men in uniform. They said he couldn't sleep there, and told him to get out of the park. He left, feeling cast out. At home, such treatment would have been considered rude. So he wandered the streets, looking for somewhere else to lay his head. He was shuffling down an empty alley, thinking of just lying down then and there, when shapes of men appeared all around him. As if they had spawned from the shadows, hooded and masked, they came at him. Tired and taken by surprise, Toku didn't have time to react before he felt the hard pavement rise up and greet him. The next thing he knew, the ground broke up and curled around him, dragging him underground, the darkness swallowing him. Later, he wouldn't remember when he had lost consciousness.
