This will mainly be a fictional RP following our own created timeline and events rather than those in history. Plot: On May 10th, 1940, German troops invade France and the Low Countries. The Fall of France was known as the day French forces lost to the stronger Nazi (German) army. Territorial battles continued throughout the entirety of France. Most victories for the German Army were in the northern districts of France, labeled occupied zones. Germany started to also occupy the southern regions, and by November of 1942, they completely took over France. Americans entered the war after the attack on Pearl Harbor 1941. They started aiding the Allied Powers, France being one of them. The Allied Powers started winning in Spain and moved onto France to liberate them from the control of Germany. By 1943, the southern regions of France had been liberated and the the north was all that Germany occupied. So basically, you as an Rper will be a soldier of the Allied powers moving into the Northern regions of France to help defeat the Germans. It'd be easier if we were either American soldiers or French in order to stay a little in-tune with each other instead of having everyone under different leadership.

I was thinking of doing something similar, but with a specific unit in the US Army; the 90th Infantry Division ("Tough Hombres") It has a pretty rough and ready history, from following Teddy Roosevelt Jr. on Utah Beach all the way to the liberation of the Flossenbürg concentration camp. Much of their action was in Patton's Third Army. They were also notable for offing any SS immediately, not allowing surrender -- that's where the movie "Fury" got the whole 'kill SS prisoners' theme from. In much the same vein, I was thinking of using the 4th Armored Division as well. They were Patton's spearhead, and the first armored unit to receive a presidential unit citation. Notable members include Creighton Abrams, who made a name for himself at the very forefront of the aforementioned spearhead. Units like the 90th Infantry Division and 4th Armored Division have a storied WWII history, but don't get as much credit as the 101st Airborne and similar.

Yeah, well like I stated, I'm not looking to exactly follow the impacts of history, but make it a fictional story. That way we can have more of an open interpretation to the war instead of having to experience and become acquainted with everything that happened. For example, all these units you just mentioned, I've never heard of. I prefer being able to implement my own ideas in order to prevent any confusion. But I mean, sure, there's no reason why we can't have divisions or units. Doesn't exactly have to be the 90th Infantry or 4th Armored Division, but it can be one we just make up. But yeah, I prefer to not follow a historical story line.
