I was moving over a large piece of glass and then suddenly dropped it onto the ground, gasping in pain. A small thin red line ran across my palm, blood slowly dripping from the wound. I tried to heal it, but my magic felt... blocked. It was there, but something prevented me from using it. "What the...? It was working just fine a few moments ago." I mumbled, I looked up. "I'm going to go to the nurse's office and get some bandages, I'll be right back." I said, with that, I walked out and looked for the nurse's office, holding my bleeding hand.

The battle was suddenly interrupted by some kind of magic jamming device.

Hikaru sighed... It was just a coin after all. Disappointing, but it serves right as an intro.

What to do now? David?.... too strange. Mikkish?.... who the hell is he anyway?....

I guess Hulk Hogan's daughter is left. Thought

Hikaru walked toward Remliel and said.

"That was pretty intense! I was completely scared, who would say that guy would had threw a truck, I mean a TRUCK!"

Remliel swung a fist at some random guy and sent him flying - because supernatural or not, Remliel was still a physical power house - right before an old man walked in on the little scuffle. Oh crap, she thought. She was here to avoid her parents, and she sure as hell didn't want them coming here because they'd heard she'd been fighting again. She decided to put her fun on hold for now.

Stepping a few meters back from the crowd, she wondered what to do next when Hikaru approached her. She raised a brow at her words. "You don't look scared to me, whoever you are, and don't think I didn't notice your little shadow play back there."

She didn't notice the coin of course, but she noticed her binding earlier, and there was no way she was going to believe that she was scared. Remliel didn't trust this person for some reason. Remliel remembered her from that scene on the bus, and vaguely recalled thinking they could be friends. As of now, that thought was nowhere to be found.

"You don't look scared to me, whoever you are, and don't think I didn't notice your little shadow play back there."

"But I was, I tell you!" Replied Hikaru

She had a keen eye if she could notice how the shadow moved on my will thought.

"Well I thought I could put my hand to help... but I was scared that weirdo would notice me, so I tried to kept my distance. Gosh my heart is still beating so hard!" Said while putting her hand on her chest.

After a few seconds Hikaru "relaxed"

"Whheeew... but you did pick that truck and threw it, that was awesome. Oh by the by, I'm Hikaru and you are?"

Remliel huffed. Well, whatever this girls intentions were, if she tried something on her, she would beat her down nonetheless. "Whatever you say, though there were a lot of wierdos there" she said, waving a hand. As Hikaru mentioned her throwing the truck, she grinned. To Remliel, it didn't matter who it was, compliments were compliments and she liked them.

"Well, yeah, I am pretty awesome. Didn't even need to use magic for that," she stated. "I'm Remliel. Nice to meet ya, Hikaru~"

Hikaru shook hands with the girl as both exchanged names.
It was weird, she felt as if she were shaking hands with a man, in fact this girl looked more like a man than a girl.
But, was it right to think that this girl was more a man than a girl? After all, to classify her as man would be to classify her as a human and she herself labeled both her and David as "Monsters".
That's right, she is just another monster...

"What brought you on this place Rem... Oh, you don't mind if I call you Rem right?" Asked Hikaru with a friendly tone.

Mikkish shook his head in annoyance, at having his magic "deactivated" by...whatever was stopping him. He walked back to the dorm, lookign around at the other students as he made his trip. Some looked terrified, but some didn't seem effected, and some even looked like they had just seen a typical high school fist fight in the lunch cafeteria. Perhaps it was because some of them had been doing magic from a young age.

When Mikkish got back to the dorm room, he was surprised to see no staff had come to investigate the gun shot. "I will pay ya back for the bullet later on, k?" Mikkish asked Leon, trying to make ammends, mostly so he wouldn't get ratted out or have to hear any shit for what he did.

I walked out of the dorm building holding my bleeding hand, glancing around, I noticed Hikaru speaking with another girl, I think she was from the boat I had arrived on as well. I walked up to the two. "E-Excuse me, I hate to bother you, but, can you point me in the direction of the infirmary?" I asked.

A different instructor came over to Joe "Shit, they really shouldn't turn that damn device on until everyone is taken care of. Magic ain't no game." He said, putting his hand on Joe's back "Infirmary is this way."

The night was cooler than the day, but still humid, warm, and very uncomfortable. The only air conditioned part of the dorm building was the first floor, and someone was coming in a few days to fix the problem. Until then, the students would all have to bear with it. Mikkish, Joe, Leon, and David didn't seem to have it so bad at first, as the hole in the glass caused by Mikkish' remarkable skills as a marksman allowed a slight cool breeze to make sleep more comfortable. All through the night, however, mosquitos came through and bit each of them wherever they were exposed. By morning, Mikkish had, in his sleep, covered the blanket over his head, and was sweating as the temperature rose as the sun did.

They had a couple more free days. What should they do? Get books? Meet their future teachers? Prepare themselves mentally for classes unlike they had taken before? Only time would tell.

I was up very early in the morning and gone before everyone else had gotten up, even before the sun had even risen. I had taken my archery bag down to the shooting range, thankfully, not that many people were around. The few that woke up early in the morning like myself were practicing with guns or bows. I set up my own range quietly, slid on a pair of noise cancelling headphones so then I wouldn't be distracted by the guns and to a lesser extent the bows firing. I began to fire each arrow into the target. A few landed right in the center, more in the rings between the edge and the bulls eye, and very few on the edge. Once I ran out of arrows, I retrieved them from the target and started all over again. I stayed in there for about an hour or two before finally leaving. I wanted to get my classes squared away. I already had a few in mind.

I met up with a counselor and talked about my options. I eventually walked out of the councilor's office with my brand new schedule. I really couldn't wait for classes to start. I had gotten Intro to Magical Studies, Intro to Soul Studies, Sparring, Biology & Applied Magic, Basic Zoology, which were the five required classes that one had to do, but I had also signed up for a Beginner's Smithing and a Beginner's Alchemy class.

I tucked my schedule into my pocket and returned to the dorm. By the time I had gotten back, it was around 7 or 8 o'clock. I set my archery bag in the corner and then grabbed one of the books from yesterday, lied back on my bed, and began reading.

Remliel shrugged. "Ah, well, you know . . . studying and stuff," she said noncommittally. Of course, the real reason was that she found it awkward to be around her family, but she was allowed to keep that to herself, right?

"You can call me whatever you want - just be prepared for the consequences if I figure out it's an insult," she replied half-jokingly. "Anyway, I gotta head to my room now. My stuffs been lying on the floor since forever. Ciao~!"

And with a small wave, the girl crouched down and jumped, making it all the way back to her floor through the window - this was done without magic on her part, so the machine had no affect on her.

Remliel was up early; she usually got up at 5 am to exercise. Currently, she didn't care too much for her studies; they hadn't begun yet, so there was no reason to worry. For now, she focused on what she did best.

In a lone corner near the dorm area, the sound of her lifting and dropping her single ton weights could be heard.

". . . 76 . . . huff . . . 77 . . . 78 . . . huff . . ."

"Hey!" Mikkish shouted in the direction of his neighbors, loud enough his other roommates could probably hear "Shut the fuck up!" Seriously, whoever it was, they didn't need to work out at 5am. It was a free day later on anyway. Plus, Mikkish had stayed up pretty late the night before, passing a blunt around a circle of other students he didn't know.

Remliel paused at 80 and looked back when Mikkish's voice reached her. She tossed the huge dumbbell into the air and shouted back even louder: "MAKE ME!"
With that, Remliel went back to lifting weights. Seriously, don't tell her to shut up when you're being loud as well!

Leon woke up and made to get up out of his bed only to fall of the top bunk to the floor, he must have accidentally teleported up in the middle of the night. he started walking out when he stopped by the dresser and looked at it realizing his sword and pistol weren't there, looking around none of his roommates stuff was here in fact...he opened the door and looked at the number 202...

he hadn't teleported up...he had teleported strait down into the top bunk of the room below...

"Man, fuck you!" Mikkish yelled back. He looked around for a moment, noticing Leon was missing but not caring too much, or in other words, not caring at all.

He got up, sleep deprived, and went to the cafeteria located on the first floor of the dorms to find some coffee. He flicked the light on to see where his stuff was before walking out, left the light on, and even shut the door pretty hard, and he didn't consider, not once, that it may wake one of his new rommmates. Wow, what a prick.

I stretched and held my stomach when I heard it growling. "Ah... I should probably get something to eat." I thought, I hopped off of the bunk bed. "But first... a shower." I thought, I grabbed some clothing and some toiletries and headed to the showers, getting in and out in a few minutes. Then I returned everything to my room, grabbed my Beginner's Alchemy book and headed down to the cafeteria to get some breakfast.

Looking around the cafeteria, it didn't seem all too much different than an ordinary high school cafeteria back in the "average world." It was kind of like a buffet, and not buffet-style, but truly an eat-all-you-want buffet. There were three coffee pots for the students in the cafeteria. It was actually quite different if you were expecting an ordinary lunch cafe. But what was ordinary was that despite the spell flinging, the oversized animals, and the Harry Potter-esq "secret magical school" deal, it looked like it would fit perfectly in the world most of the students were from.

Mikkish grumpily snatched a coffee cup from a stack of them, filled it with the darkest thing he found, then got a plate and just began to pile and pile food without shame, though not without carefully making sure to pick food that was exactly as he wanted it. From the bacon platter, he chose only the soggiest. From the donuts tray, he picked the freshest looking. He did his best to get as much cheese from the cheesy-egg tray, until it seemed like his number one goal had been to steal ALL of the cheese. He did this without even contemplating if the place truly worked like a buffet, or if he would be charged for all he was taking, or if it was rude of him to take only, and ALL of the fresh batch of donuts.

He sat down, a bit of egg spilling off his plate, and watched a few scantily clad girls walk past.

I walked into the cafeteria and saw how it was set up. I didn't know whether or not I'd have to pay, so it would be safe to take small portions. Not that I'd take huge portions anyway if I could. I mean just because one could act like a glutton doesn't mean one should act like a glutton. I walked up to the buffet and grabbed some freshly cut fruit, a pancake, a few strips of bacon, some eggs with cheese, and a glass of milk. I walked to the back corner of the cafeteria and took a seat at an empty table and began to eat in silence.

Remliel finished her workout. With an exhausted huff, she hauled her things back to her room, were her dorm mate was still sleeping. She took a quick shower and headed for the canteen. The girl piled food on top of each other, and the tray was filled with enough food to feed four people.

"Food after a workout is the best~!" she exlaimed happily, while munching down on a strip of spam and eggs.
