I'm gonna keep this short and simple since a lot of times these things don't take off. My stat system is fairly simple, and most of the stats just limit you to what you can do in-battle as far as how many attacks you can have per post [Speed], how strong they are [Strength], what different attacks [Attack], how many defensive moves you can have per battle and what they are [Defense], and then of course there's an IQ stat and a health stat. Characters would begin with level 1 stats [16 stat points] and gain another level/stat point for every 5 posts in-game. A signature move is awarded at Level 3 and is worth double damage or double defense. A signature defense is the only defense for a signature attack and the only defensive move you can use for another player.

Here's a breakdown of how the system works:

As far as what type of superhero RP this will be that's still up in the air. Only looking for 4-5 players total so something like the Fantastic Four could work, I also thought about doing Pulp style heroes with a 1930's or 1940's setting, anything really. If a few of you want to make it a Marvel themed RP we could do that, make it set in the DC universe, or create an original universe either way.

If this happens we'll keep track of who can do what and what level everyone is with stat cards that I'll keep updated. Here's an example of an old Legion stat based game that never quite took off...

So c'mon people, let's make some heroes and see them evolve in whatever world we decide to build. ANY type of superhero setting, I can quite literally make a game out of anything.

I'm totally game for this -- stat-based roleplays are rare enough and a superhero one is just too good to pass up.

I'm a fan of silver-age style -- think Batman The Brave And The Bold -- but it doesn't matter much to me as long as I can play as a robot.

Yeah robots are fine with me in the land of superheroes. Tech based heroes in general are sweet when not overdone. Mr. Terrific, Cyborg, Steel, Ironman, Metallo, etc...

So you're more of a DC guy then? I favor them more than Marvel myself!

Yeah I'd say I am, mostly because DC has always had better animated shows to me, with things like Brave And The Bold, Justice League, etc -- which is the medium I think superheroes do best in.

I think superheroes work best in film and television because most of the time it's aimed at more of an all ages demographic. It's why I think the comics themselves are suffering because their demographic doesn't really include new young readers. And for the young readers they do have they usually only try and publish crap books that tie into the shows, videogames, etc. Pretty sad the majority of Marvel and DC comics on the shelves can't be read to my 5 year old because of language or adult situations. Case in point, the new Ultraman [an evil Superman] from the Crime Syndicate crushes kryptonite and snorts it like cocaine to get power...

Seems cool. I could probably bring in Nenatalev.

So what's the census then guys, original characters in a semi-established setting?

Original characters are what RP is designed for. Never liked taking someone else's work. It means I have to work within the parameters they have set.

You've never reimagined a character or used them for inspiration on one? I used the Legion of Superheroes' Triplicate Girl as a base for my Young Justice 2020 character Ditto. It's a good feeling when you +1 a character or concept and make them more enjoyable on a more personal level. I also GM a Spiderverse RP where everyone remakes Spiderman in their own way. It's a fun twist on things once in awhile...

Forgot to mention @Endrance still wanted in on this with an altered version of her Remix retrofitted for modern era DC if we do this. I'll make the stat card base and get to work on mine, for now your basic CS should have...

Name -
Alias -
Age -
Powers -
Weaknesses -
Appearance - Pic or description, I'll make micros if you guys want them for the stat cards...
Brief Bio -
Notes -

Also, on another note, if we do something in the DCU is anyone particular on the city? There's Gotham, Metropolis, Midway City [Hawkman's former stomping grounds], St. Roch Louisiana [also from Hawkman], Central or Keystone City [from the Flash], NYC, etc... or we could just make one up like Jump City on the Teen Titans cartoon.

Yeah man go ahead. I can help with stat cards if needed. Keep in mind the types of attacks and defenses and what you may want at level 3 for a signature attack or defense. I think for Spitfire his sig will be 'inferno blast' and just be a bigger fire blast LOL

Name - Nenatalev Kabal
Alias - Deimos (Demon Woman)
Age - 26
Powers - Strength of Titans
Weaknesses - Too strong for her muscular structure. Can cause broken bones and torn ligaments with overuse.
Appearance -

Brief Bio - Nena has lived with her powers her whole life, and so being able to lift up the couch with one arm at the age of eight did not really surprise her that much. She thought all people could do it, and it was only when she realized that cars were not as light as she thought they were that she began to wonder, and slightly panic. But, never one to let herself get down to much, she took advantage of this and started to learn Thai boxing, before going into local tournaments and turning the competition into mince meat. It was a great game, until some shady group of buggers thought she was cheating and sent a group of thugs to deal with her. It was then, punching their suit of body armour, that Nena realized her bones had not quite advanced with the rest of her, and were still susceptible to getting hurt or broken.

After they were turned into mush, Nena decided to seak out some more meta-humanish assistance, not really wanting to get into anymore trouble with anyone.

Notes - IQ - 2
Strength - 10
Speed - 2
Attack - 1 - Punch
Defense - 1 - Swat
Health - 15

^^^^

You can go ahead and just write them down like this and I'll work them into a stat card.

IQ -
Strength -
Speed -
Attack - [put the number and go ahead and list them]
Defense - [^^ same goes for defense]
Health -

* Just remember to read the stat breakdown. You've got 16 points to distribute between everything but Health which is all the stats added together except for attack.

...and would you like a micro for the card? Maybe your girl weaking a little more than an unbuttoned shirt or is that her battle gear? LOL

Micro sounds cool. The unbuttoned shirt is nice, but her battle gear would be more this http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/highschooldxd/images/6/6c/Riasg.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width/1000?cb=20121217123250
