Arryn turned out to be a technological savant, dismantling her own slave collar with improvised tools by the time she was eight years old, not in any attempt to escape but simply out curiosity. The slavers quickly realised her value and Arryn was well treated compared to other slaves.
Her life of slavery came to an end when she was eleven years old and a machinist named Kyle Monroe arrived in the slaver camp. He was passing by and, needing a place to spend the night, offered the slavers his mechanical services in return for a bedroll for the night. To his surprise he found Arryn, barely more than a child, already doing all the work. Impressed with her talent, he offered to buy the girl and once she was his, he freed her and took her as his apprentice.
For the next five years Arryn and Kyle worked together, buying and running a machine repair shop, and over time they developed a father-daughter relationship. Kyle took going out scavenging for scrapped tech while Arryn ran the machine shop and for a time it worked, until one day Kyle went out and never came back. The wasteland is a dangerous place and Kyle Monroe was not the first, nor the last, to fall prey to it. Arryn was left alone to run her machine shop.

The Witcher Character

Backstory: Born in Lyria to a woodcutter's wife, Mirian was a violent young girl, always brawling with other children and getting into trouble. Becoming sick and tired of her antics, Mirian's father decided to have her married off to a neighbor lad, ensuring that she'd be the problem of his family from then on. Understandably upset with this turn of events, Mirian ran away in a fit of petulant anger, running off into the woods. She wandered through the woods for a few hours before rain forced her to take shelter in a cave, a cave that turned out to be a Nekker lair.
Trapped by the monsters, Mirian was moments away from being torn apart when she was saved by the timely appearance of a Witcher, who had been tracking the Nekkers. To the surprise of both Mirian and her father, the Witcher accepted the offer and took the girl away to Kaer Morhen.
At Kaer Morhen, Mirian was subjected to unforgiving training and excruciating mutations, almost losing her mind twice and almost dying more times than she could count, before finally passing her final trials and earning her Wolf Medallion. Forever changed, she began her life as a Witcher of the Wolf School. Her career was a relatively successful one, only ever failing to complete one contract, when she was almost killed by a Griffon and lost her left eye.

History: Fen was born in a small village in a far eastern nation of Earthland. When she was barely more than a baby her entire village was obliterated by a mysterious fire and Fen only survived because she was rescued from the flames by a large bird. The bird turned out to be a Phoenix named Huan Jin, who took the orphaned girl under his care. Raised by Jin, Fen learned to use Phoenix Slayer Magic a Lost Magic. When Fen was twelve years old Jin began to die. He told her that he would eventually be reborn but would have no memory of her. It would be as if he was a completely different Phoenix. Jin told her to use this time to re-enter the world of humans and make a new life for herself, that he had raised her and trained her for that purpose. When Jin died, consumed by his own flames, Fen left to begin traveling. For two whole years she traveled across the world before finally finding herself in Fiore. It was here that she found the Phoenix Wing Guild and, taking the name as a sign, she joined.
Personality: Fen is an enthusiastic girl who is always quick with a laugh. She is good natured at heart but can occasionally fall prey to her fiery passions.

Backstory: Originally built as an emergency medical assistance robot, Nadia was stolen by an outlaw hacker, who saw the potential to turn her into a weapon. In direct contravention of multiple interstellar laws the hacker overwrote much of her core programming, turning a harmless med-bot into a deadly combat/assassination mech. After being reprogrammed, Nadia was used by the hacker to eliminate several of his rivals, before she was claimed by a crime lord as partial payment for the hacker's debts. She spent some time as the crime lord's property until being stolen by an enterprising young ore smuggler. Nadia then passed from his hands into another smuggler's after being wagered in an ill conceived bet, before being sold to a pawn shop, where she remained for almost a year before being bought once again.
Personality: Initially built as a medical droid, Nadia still contains some of her original programming, now muddled by the hacker's interference. She makes no distinction between harming and healing, commonly referring to her targets as her "patients" and bullets as "medicine". She always speaks in a calm, soothing, motherly tone; even when crushing someone's windpipe.
Abilities: Nadia is capable of using most small arms and rifles and is programmed with advanced hand to hand combat techniques. Her extensive databases on human and xeno biology give her unique insight on the most efficient methods of reducing a person's vital signs to zero. That said, many of her legitimate Medical subroutines remain untouched and she is capable of rendering first aid in the field, equipped with painkiller and hemostatic injectors. She is also able to perform an extensive array of surgeries, provided the correct implements and a suitable med-bay are close at hand.

Nozomi: As a beaten child, Nozomi is extremely timid and quiet. She is usually shy amongst strangers and takes a great deal of time and encouragement to warm up to others. She doesn't trust easily. Possibly the only person in the world that she is truly open with is her brother.
Hakuya: Hakuya is a hard young man, forced to grow up quickly, he's mature beyond his years but bitter and resentful towards a world that he sees as cruel and unfair. The one bright spot in Hakuya's life is his sister, and she never fails to bring out his gentler side. He is fiercely protective of her, even more so since she lost her sight.
Background:
The Kochizuki twins grew up in a broken house. Their mother died when they were still very young and their father began to drink and gamble. He wasn't a good gambler and would usually come home drunk and angry, and would take out his frustrations on them. Hakuya, in the process of shielding his younger twin sister, got the worst of the beatings and abuse, but Nozomi was never entirely spared.
During one of their father's episodes he took the abuse a little too far and left Hakuya barely alive. During the beating Nozomi, in a rare show of courage and a testament to the bond the twins shared, attempted to shield her brother. For her trouble she received a brutal blow to the head from a bottle. The row the event caused resulted in the police being called and the twins were quickly removed from their father's care.
Hakuya recovered from his wounds but the blow Nozomi received to the head had left her permanently blinded. For months child services didn't know what to do with the two of them, Hakuya refused to allow them to be separated, and few foster homes were willing to take on the responsibility of caring for a blind girl. Finally things were resolved when child services arranged for Nozomi to be admitted into Yamaku and, as the academy had no problem taking on healthy students as well, Hakuya got his wish of not being separated from his sister.
Other Info: Having depended on each other for emotional support for almost their entire lives, Hakuya and Nozomi have extreme mutual codependency issues and an impressive case of separation anxiety. One simply cannot function without the other. Nozomi shuts down completely without her brother, while Hakuya becomes upset to the point of violence and only calms down when his sister is around.

At the age of seven she had already won awards for her playing and it was said that she had the potential to surpass even her mother. As Sayuri entered her early teens, however, things began to go wrong. She began to suffer slight losses in motor control, namely in her legs. These quickly spread to her arms and hands as well and affected her ability to play the piano. She was taken to several doctors and was finally diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Ataxia, a degenerative disease that would destroy her ability to move her muscles, further disrupt her motor-control and finally damage her organs. Eventually she would die as her organs shut down, and her dream of playing the piano was all but dead already. Whenever she tried, her weakening fingers would stumble over the keys that she could once make sing. She decided that she would never again touch another piano. As her condition worsened she was eventually bound to a wheelchair, this coincided with her graduation from middle school, and so her family had her enrolled in Yamaku, where she has been since.

As Sayuri entered her early teens, however, things began to go wrong. She began to suffer slight losses in motor control, namely in her legs. These quickly spread to her arms and hands as well and affected her ability to play the piano. She was taken to several doctors and was finally diagnosed with Spinocerebellar Ataxia, a degenerative disease that would destroy her ability to move her muscles, further disrupt her motor-control and finally damage her organs. Eventually she would die as her organs shut down, and her dream of playing the piano was all but dead already. Whenever she tried, her weakening fingers would stumble over the keys that she could once make sing. She decided that she would never again touch another piano. As her condition worsened she was eventually bound to a wheelchair, this coincided with her graduation from middle school, and so her family had her enrolled in Yamaku, where she has been since.

Brief Bio: Elina never liked being in the Vault. Growing up, she felt bored and stifled by the same scenery every single day. Apparently her GOAT results reflected this as shortly after completing the test she was given a job perfect for her. The Surface Scouts were few and far between and they didn't seem to survive long but the job they did was important for the Vault. - Guns - The wasteland is a dangerous place. Scouts learn to use firearms, or they die.
- Survival - Some survivalist knowledge was learnt from the Vault database, other knowledge is accumulated from generations of trial and error. Regardless, Scouts are adepts at using their knowledge of the wasteland fauna and flora to survive.
- Stealth - The best defence is avoiding danger entirely and if a Scout is followed back to the Vault, then they are bringing danger home with them. Scouts learn to avoid detection and lose pursuers when returning to the Vault.
- Barter - Trading with Wasters is a part of the job description and, whether they are dealing with someone friendly or just someone who isn't actively hostile, Scouts always try to get the best deal.
