Alright, I'll change her to post-escape. But besides that, nothing's wrong with the character?

Appearance:

Name: Fredric Dirk Ferdinand

Gender: Male

Race: Human

Faction: Luminous Knights (MIA)

Personality: Fredric was always and idealistic and charismatic man. Recent events however has forced him to temper that idealism with brutal realism. Though he has almost limitless strength of spirit, his body can only push him so far. Fredric devotes a majority of his of his down time in study, meditation, or training. Still, he will not refuse conversation and is often the unofficial leader of his group.

Bio:Fredric D. Ferdinand was born into a family of low ranking Luminous Knights. The lack of status did have its benefits. He had a loving family, good friends, and a great childhood. He not only joined the LKs because he was from a military family, but because he wanted to do real and lasting good for the people of Altea. The happiest day of his life was the day of his Initiation Ritual, for he finally had the power to do good. With the help of his new squad mates and the LK, the world will finally be rid of the evil outsider rouge mages. After a few successful brigand apprehensions, and a raid repelled here and there , Fredric and his close friends/battle brothers were assigned to deal with a small time mob boss of a offshoot of the CharHornets. Usually the LK wouldn't concern themselves with the affairs of Outsider cities but the mob's influence was starting to make its way into lands under LK protection. This mission ended up going horribly wrong.

Stats:

Imbue - Channels Luminosity into an object. Can use simple elixirs or even some minerals and alloys to hold energy
for later use as a light, bottled Smite, a heat source and more depending on composition of elixir.

Lumen Strike - Projects a field of Luminosity around a the caster's limb. While this does nothing but cast a bright light from
any particular part of Fredric's body now, he has heard legends of great paladins who had fists blessed with the heat of
the sun and the force of a falling star. Fredric feels like this skill is worth developing, if only in memory of his
battle brother "Squid"

Skills/Techniques: Unconventional Tactics - Will use Guerrilla tactics to fight a more powerful foe. Still heeds pleas for mercy and
won't use poison, but will forgo most chivalrous codes if innocents are at risk.

Close-Quarters-Combat - Trained with grappling, striking, disarming, and non-lethal take-downs. His body is just another
side arm to him. Can be uses in conjunction with other melee weapons in different ways.

Amateur Alchemist - Can concoct simple elixirs, practice field medicine, gather materials, and knows basic chemistry.

Survivalist - Has basic knowledge for how to survive off of the land. Given to all Paladins

Combat strategy: In an even fight, Fredric will adhere to the code of the Luminosity Knights. However, when in dire straights, fighting against a dirty opponent, or when the lives at others are at stake, he will ignore those codes to do good. If faced with two bad options, he will always pick the third option.

Gotcha, thanks. So my character had a collar, and her father who handled her died.

1) If he dies, does that mean the collar falls off or that anyone with luminosity shows up and can take over as a handler?

2) By what ceremony/act does a handler take control over the collar?

"
1.The collar can cause either pain, stun or just decapitate it's wearer. The Handler just has the "remote".
2.Less of a ceremony and more like a logistical and bureaucratic mess to assign it to some guy who doesn't have any other important duties.

@CyraniaSounds good, though you might want to mention just how she got rid of the collar. Those things have anti-tampering mechanisms as well as Knights watching your every move. Either by force or deception... or we could tie it more to the ensuing plot and mention that a cloaked, extremely powerful mage rescued them all, turning all the knights to blue crystal. And then he disappeared mysteriously, right after he removed their collars.

@SPAssembleAccepted.

I am also going to do some clean-up and expansion on my original post after I go back from work tomorrow. Various improvements, cleaner layout, more specific information, etc.

I was thinking that Wendy would have her collar removed by a professional pick-locker in exchange for healing his daughter at night in the Mage quarters while her handler was asleep then made her way out of the city, getting the bow and the backpack on the way (she already had the knife).

Though I would accept a way that fit in with your plot. You're joking though about the one you put up, aren't you? Any PC knight characters would be incapacitated, it sounds a bit out of the blue, why weren't the knights able to stop him (doesn't their powers allow them to sense when a mage is about to release a spell), and you didn't want people to start out as servitor because it would take too long, but if that event happened then they just would have immediately been released and the story would continue.

He's not saying this event would happen mid-plot. He's involving a plot character in your character's release.

Also, as for discrepencies, I'm sure Laue thought of it and has causes and reasons for how and why things happened as they did.

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound rude. It would be better to tie into the other characters, I agree. The way he described it just sounded a bit OP (unless a mass escape of servitors are part of the story). Maybe instead, she managed to get out of the city with the bow, backpack, and knife, thinking someone on the Outside would know how to get the collar off. But then was caught and was being given a little "lesson" before being dragged back into the city when the mage comes, takes out the knights there, releases her collar, then disappears. Part of Wendy's plot could then be searching for that mage to thank him and maybe apprentice herself to him.

Laue though is the GM, so I'll go with what he thinks is best.

Wow, I'm surprised I got accepted with those stupid book references. Perhaps to balance out the crap-tastic events that's happened to him, his quirk is that he likes humorous and useful books. I can imagine a subplot to visit the Forbidden Archives for a chance at a copy of "So You've Fallen in Love With Your Sentient Mount and Other Adventurer Problems".

The only thing that I still don't quit get is progression. Do my spells gain in power with use? With study? By eating magic gems? You also mentioned a way to increase my natural cap of 10. Is that through equipment and abilities? Can I get a dwarven mechanical arm that gives me 40STR? Can I have six of them?

Ok, done. Should be easier to read and has some additional information. For the already accepted characters, you may change them a bit if you so desire.

@CyraniaThe mage side would start with a mysterious cloaked stranger, who is obviously a mage, and a very powerful at that, offering them a job. That mage also hates Luminous Knights and himself has escaped from the life of a Servitor. In your character's case, it would be more of a little reunion. He already has freed a lot of mages, why not make your character one of those freed mages?

@SPAssembleThroughout the story, all characters will gain opportunities to learn new skill and/or improve old ones. They will also acquire new equipment. Pushing past natural limits require either mana of any kind and learning a specific technique, which all characters will encounter sooner or later, or specific body changes - like mechanical arms, yes. So in theory, you could acquire six mechanical arms which are far stronger than your normal ones, but nothing is ever for free when it comes to dwarves. Your character will need a lot of money. A LOT. Like the 0.01% amount of money. Of course, you can always settle for less.

Yup accepted. Alright now. We need 1 more Knight and I guess we can start. And as preparation for hopefully incoming IC:

A new category has been added to the OP: Los Vengadores - Rivain Martson.

Additional information will be added to the OP as it is discovered. That includes the bio, skills, spells and personality of various important NPCs.

I hope it's okay with you @Laue but I'm going to be MIA from the knights for the first bit of our story. My battle brother relationship with Nala is going to have me trying to gain support from other knights whom I was friends with before my squad was killed. I'm going to still try to work with the knights, just in a more independent way. My ultimate goal is to either have mages be able to be enlisted in the LK (think psykers in Warhammer 40K) or split from the order and make a new Human Federation with mages still in bondage but able to prove themselves and attain status while under the careful watch of an inquisitor.

Such independence would prove problematic, as both groups of players are expected to work more or less together. There will be chances for splitting up temporary after assignments, but otherwise this would complicate the narrative.

Name: Kavir Kahrhana
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Age: 27
Height: 5‘ 8“
Weight: 214 lbs
Faction: (Outsider)Aura Shinobi

Personality:
Kav is a friendly, kind hearted individual. As such is a person, raised as he was. A protector of the people. His training, his skills, all used to protect those less than himself. He always helps when he can, be it with a job, with a skill, or even with food. When crime is in front of him, he will not hesitate to stop it, but before punishment is dealt, he always tries to find the reason, but when it comes to justice, if deemed necessary, punishment will be swift and instant, with the bladed side of his sword. Kav always has a smile, but deep down he is a cold calculated killing machine.

Bio:
Where to begin. As a child, an orphan, he and many other children were abducted by a man known only as “The Professor.” This man, or more like monster was the scholar of a lost art, Auras. He wanted, needed, to see how these worked. His research found early on that children, with developing wills were the key to harnessing such powers.

Unfortunately the cost was the will of these children. Stretching them one by one to their own breaking point. The longer a child lasted, the stronger their will, but once broken, many became unrepairable and forever scarred. Some would lose their will to live all together, but some, like Kevah never broke. They were determined to become stronger for the others, and for society, for the “King” and for their nation.

At least that's what he thought. At the age of 14 he realized it was all experiments and for the "King" was a sham, that they had no intention of letting him win. With his anger to reinforce his strength, he broke his chains, along with a few other children and escaped into the outerlands. It was here, starved, nearly dead and bleeding from days of travel without direction or supplies that he found an old vagabond man. This man carried with him only a sword as a staff, a sack upon his back and a pipe upon his lip.

For the next ten years this man came to be his father. A loving caring person, much different from the Professor. This man taught Kaveh physical training and techniques unlike anything he had gone before. While tough and taxing on his body, Father encouraged him and the training made him feel incredibly good about himself. He learned how and why to use his strength.

Many years later, with revenge on his mind, he sought out the professor. In one of his normal tests, The Professor again tested Kavir and proved that everything he had went through was for the betterment of humanity and the kingdom. Somehow now, the Professor is now an informant of sorts, giving him the inside on bounties and the sort. They have secret meetings just outside the city, and if needed, Kavir can be escorted into the wall, but he prefers to stay outside. While he does still wish to kill this man, his value as a source of information is undeniable.

Stats:
STR: 9
AGI: 10
PER: 5
INT: 5
WIS: 6
CHA: 5

Skills/Techniques:
[Skill] Double Jump: Using ones aura as an instant platform, the user uses it as footing to push against air itself.
[Skill] Sever: Reinforcing ones aura with a single strike, the user can ”cut” certain types of magic skills.
[Skill] Intimidate: Projecting his blood lust, can he used to intimidate foes.
[Tech] Draw/Resheath: With one fluid motion the user, draws, slices and resheaths a sword and only once the sword clicks back into place, does the damage done become apparent.

Combat strategy:
[Style] His style is much like brawling but much more effective. He is skilled in hand to hand and full body contact and uses this to put down a foe as fast as possible.
[Style] When using his sword, there is no middle ground. Either you will die, or the opponent will die. The blade is a weapon of war, and if it is unsheathed, then war will be brought, and war will be won.
[Strategy] He usually tries to incapacitate a foe by any means necessary. There is not honor in a fight if you're dead. but also he does not draw his sword unless completely needed. Once the sword is drawn, so too will blood.

Armour:
[Back] Lightweight, but waterproof cloak
[Chest] Elegant lambskin/leather chest piece, maximum movement, little protection
[Hands] Heavy Cotton with Hardened Leather casing.
[Legs] Simply for freedom/silent movement
[Feet] Similiar to his arms, slight protection to ankles/shins, Tabi shoes.
Weapon:
[Sword] Legendary Sword Entrusted to him by his Father. Kept on his side, or back as needed.

@Laue I'm definitely going to be co-operating as I plan to work with both mages and Luminous Knights. I basically want a reformation but not servitude nor Mage Supremacy. I even would still have connections in the Knights but the relationship is a bit more complicated. Having a mage battle brother would also allow opportunities to gain the trust of some of the mage groups albeit shaky.
