Given that the Satsuma (I mean Setsuka, but god damn) has half of its head missing, would it be reliable to assume that the shots have a very low chance of hitting? As well as the Archer, given that it's been hit in a critical spot and currently relying on missiles as a form of supression from quite far away. I don't want to go full god mode here, yet I think it's possible given the damage the combatants have already had done to them.

@Cassowarysaur The weapon you're using is dedicated to high accuracy and piercing qualities, but is practically useless once anything comes within melee range. I'd say a general shot through the torso will be guaranteed to hit, but more difficult shots like the head or held weaponry would require either time to aim, using an unorthodox tactic (lake shot for example), or you discuss the attack with the recipient and try to come to an agreement.

That said, I'm skipping, so you're up.

EDIT: Also, if the battle starts dragging out there's a high chance I'll end it, so you guys better engage.

Also, I finished watching ATTACKO UN TITANO today. It was alright. The animation, actually, was not at all smooth and the moral was . . . "To beat monsters, we must let go of our humanity"? What kind of messed up message is that to take away from such a popular show?

Oh that's not the half of it. When it first came out peeps thought it was a metaphor for a (at the moment strictly political) conflict China and Japan were having over a series of islands. While I don't think "To beat monsters, we must let go of our humanity" is the exact moral, I do read a heavily militaristic message in the series. Later chapters introduce some ambivalence to that theme though.

Man, I honestly don't think Attack on Titan is really one of those 'deeper meaning' animes. I haven't read the manga or watched the anime myself, but from what glimpses I've seen I simply can't interpret it any other way aside of "these guys are being hounded by giants. shit happens. more, crazier shit happens".

I'm probably biased though. I can't form deeper meanings myself I think, so I'm obviously not very good at detecting existing ones either I suppose. So take this with a grain of salt.

@LHG100 I will admit that I am the kind of guy that takes great enjoyment out of over-analyzing the living hell out of any narrative work, so there is also that.

My Rant (SPOILERS)

What confused me was they were going down the route of having a deep, interesting plot. They spent a hell of a lot of time describing character's inner monologues and contemplating the reason why they fight. Yet they go for the whole "this is a cruel world" shindig, which is not uplifting or particularly a satisfactory lesson.

SHINGEKI NO KYOJIN is the only show I've watched so far that would benefit from a forced romance, as we see the same thing happening every. single. episode. PEOPLE ARE EATEN. We get it.

It wasn't exactly difficult for them to come up with a satisfactory ending with character resolutions and some answers, even if it's just a "part-1". In the ending, the main character could've realised he's BECOME A TITAN (the very thing he wanted to destroy) and so has his "friend" (I won't say her name for spoilers, but come on, she got next to no development and I didn't really care about her being killed) and come to the conclusion that "if we are going to fight for humanity, we can't lose our own humanity" or something equally cliche, which might actually make Erin grow as a character instead of growing up and . . . punching stuff? You can't have action in any media without a) us caring about the characters, b) there being some reason why they're fighting, c) some resolution between characters or d) a more motive behind the action that anyone can relate to.

None of which can be found in the climax of the show. It's pretty standard stuff, though. Any person in media production should know that you need to keep the show grounded for people to connect with the characters.
