4. But ye, ye have not been steadfast, nor done the commandments of the LORD,
But ye have turned away and spoken proud and hard words
With your impure mouths against His greatness.
Oh, ye hard-hearted, ye shall find no peace.

In the beginning, there was the Earth, and the Earth was lifeless and withovt form. And the LORD said, Let there be light, and there was light. After seven days, the LORD said, Let Vs make man in Ovr image, and there was man, and the LORD divided men in twelve nations, and kept them by His side. Bvt the LORD saw that man was provd, and he spoke provd words, and he raised his hands against the LORD. Thvs, the LORD, wrathfvl and grief-stricken, raised His hand against man: and those were times ov darkness, and those were times ov grief. The LORD said vnto man: "Thov hast been provd, and hast spoken provd words, and raised yovr hands against the LORD. Thvs, Mine jvdgement shall lower itself against thee, for thov hast consorted with Satan and wecomed him into thine home, and thov hast done the works ov the Devil, and thov hast strayed from the path ov righteovsness."

5. Therefore shall ye execrate your days,
And the years of your life shall perish,
And the years of your destruction shall be multiplied in eternal execration,
And ye shall find no mercy.

And in the first day the LORD sent vnto man a hail ov fire and blood, and a million ov millions perished, for they drowned and bvrned; in the second day, the LORD cast vnto man a great movntain ov fire, and a billion ov billions perished, for the oceans rose and the Earth shook; and in the third day, the LORD sent vnto man poison, and a billion and all their descendants perished, for they drank poisonovs water; and in the fovrth day, the LORD sent vnto man darkness, and a thovsand thovsands families perished, for their crops withered and died; and in the fifth day, the LORD sent vnto man the First Woe, and the nations ov man perished, for they were devovred by the locvsts; and in the sixth day, the LORD sent vnto man the Second Woe, and the great hovses ov man perished, for they were slain by the righteovs; and in the seventh day, the LORD sent vnto man the Third Woe, and He saw that man was vndone.

6. In those days ye shall make your names an eternal execration unto all the righteous,
And by you shall all who curse, curse,
And all the sinners and godless shall imprecate by you,
And for you the godless there shall be a c͓͇ư̬͔̥r̷s̝̳̰̲̜ͅę̮̬.

And the nations ov man fell before the wrath ov the LORD, and some fled away to the distant lands, and some were destroyed by His hand. Bvt the LORD was mercifvl with the sinners and he preserved the seed ov two, ov the nation ov Jvdah: one was male, and named Sodom, and one was female, and named Gomorrah. Thvs, the LORD made them a new home, away from the Earth. There, men prospered and bvilt two great cities ov gold and stone, and they were steadfast to the LORD, and followed His commandments, and lived in joy. And there they lived in righteovsness, and those who sinned against the LORD were sent into the Prisons beneath the city, and the Angels ov the LORD watched over man. And it came to pass when the children ov man had mvltiplied that in those days were born vnto them beavtifvl and comely davghters. And some ov the Angels, the children ov the Heaven, saw and lvsted after them, and said to one another: 'Come, let vs choose vs wives from among the children ov man and beget vs children.' And those Angels took vnto themselves wives, and each chose for himself one, and they began to go in vnto them and to defile themselves with them, and they tavght them charms and enchantments, and the cvtting ov roots, and made them acqvainted with plants. And there arose mvch godlessness, and they committed fornication, and they were led astray, and became corrvpt in all their ways.

The LORD thvs said to the sinfvl men: "For yovr sins, I shall smite yov, and I shall erase yov from Mine kingdom; and ye shall find no rest, and no mercy." Thus, the LORD sent His Angels from Heaven to bring death to man, and they smote him wherever they fovnd him. And the corpses ov those who were fallen still roam the halls ov Sodom and Gomorrah, twisted creatnres ov madness. And those who were the greatest in sins, they were thrown to the pits below, and chained thrice and then thrice more, vntil the day ov the Great Consvmmation. The LORD thvs said to the giants: "Ye, Nephilim, are not creatvres ov Me, and ye do not proceed from Me; thvs, ye are withovt light, and drowned in sin." Thvs, the LORD sent His Angels from Heaven, and they led the Giants to the darkness below, to the caves beneath Sodom and the Ravines beneath Gomorrah, and there they imprisoned them. The LORD thvs said to the Angels who had committed sin: "Trvly, ye are the greatest ov the sinners. For ye have strayed from the path, the trve path, and shall receive none ov My glory. Mine hand will smite yov and yovr power shall be as sand, and the strength ov yovr arms shall be as straw which, when smote, is broken. For yovr sins, ye shall be delivered vnto Mine hand." Thvs, the LORD sent His Angels from Heaven, and they brovght them before Him, and in His wrath he tore away their wings, and sent them deep into the Abyss beneath the Earth, where there is dark and fire and svlfvr, and in the deepest pit, Dvdael, he cast down Azazel, who was the greatest ov sinners. And the LORD saw this, that it was good.

Introduction (OOC)

What is Judah?

Judah is a RP campaign based on Judeo-Christian mysticism and mythology (in particular on the Book of Enoch), with influences from the cosmic horror genre and other sources. The Second Advent part comes simply from the fact that the first attempt at this campaign, around a year ago, failed miserably.

What is the setting?

The campaign takes place in the former cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, now ruins floating in an endless darkness, and the abyss that opens below, between the two cites. The ruins of the cities are stalked by the hideous monsters that were once man, before the divine punishment that utterly destroyed the cities. More terrible abominations can be found as the abyss is further descended: there lay the resting places of the Nephilim, and even further below, the eternal prisons of the Fallen Angels.

What kinds of characters will be available for players to play? What will their goal be?

The players will impersonate sinners who have been imprisoned long ago in the Prisons just beneath the cities, and just now freed by a mysterious entity, which has informed them that the two cities are about to be utterly annihilated. The player's goal will simply be that to escape: in their journey, they may meet numerous beings, including demons, angels, and everything in between, which might attempt to help or stop them.

I wanna know more about the lore!

Mystery will play a large role in this campaign: thus, additional lore will be revealed little by little to players as they progress.

I want to join this, can I?

Please do! We are looking for more players.

Character Sheet Template

Name: your character's name.

Gender: your character's gender.

Appearance: a description of your character's appearance.

Backstory: a narration of your character's backstory: include details about his/her personality as well.

Sin: the reason your character was imprisoned, with some details. It can be one of the Seven Deadly Sins (Wrath, Pride, Lust...) or something else. Creativity is heavily encouraged, as is linking this with your backstory and covenant.

Covenant: your character may choose one of the Fallen Angels to worship, in order a particular power: see the description of the various angels above. Entering no covenant will yield no special power, but know that an oath with a Fallen Angel will take its toll...

***Edit: Sheet Complete

Name: Tezeren

Gender: Male

Appearance: Tezeren is a hardy-looking man, with a well-built frame and a height at 5' 7" (170.18 cm). He weighs 154lbs (69.8532 kg). Tezeren has a deeper olive skin tone and has a smoother skin, lacking in hair folicles over most parts of his body. The hair on his head, however, is not lacking, as it now sits halfway down his back, constantly tied into a ponytail by three lengths of twine. His eyes are a dulled blue with a ring of gold in each, and dark shadows around the eyes. He wore robes of great beauty adorned with golds and blues, with their main cloth being black. Though, now their lustre has fallen and they are no more but a dull gray. He chooses not to wear shoes, as he feels a better connection to the earth.

Backstory Tezeren had always been an odd child. He hated going to the temple and would never run around with shoes on (though, that isn't too wierd). As he grew into his teens, he discovered a liking to dark arts, especially those that involved alterations of the mind. He saw the potential to become a greater man and suddenly, he had his aspiration. Tezeren started off simply by learning some runic symbols, which he had found a scroll for inside his house. He had always wondered where it had come from, but he did not really work to find out. Gradually, he learned more and more runes, becoming proficient in their written knowledge. Once, when Tezeren was 15, he ran out of scrolls to learn from and started to write some of his own. He wrote and wrote until his hands bled, and then he wrote some more. He poured time and pieces of his own spirit into the works that he had constructed, pouring more and more magical energies into them. But it was for naught, as even with all the time and effort he poured into making scrolls, it was not enough to satisfy his thirst for information. For several years, he started making deals with shady characters all around the cities that he traveled to, trying to find out the locations of scrolls or tablets with dark runes on them. Even if the characters he talked to knew absolutely nothing, he still made a deal with them to provide any information that they could. They would give him information as it came to them, or even just information on people who might know where any scrolls could be. Over time, he obtained information of parchments containing dark secrets about magics untold. So, he snuck into the house in which they were held and stole them. He brought the documents back to his home and climbed onto the roof with them, and a piece of stone-- to write with, as he had learned previously that some magics involved writing words or drawing large circles. He read into the pages well past midnight until he came across a piece of information that stood out to him. Drawing a pentagram on the ground and inscribing the proper runes along its edge, Tezeren prepared his mind to strike a deal with the Great Serpent himself. He used the stone to draw blood from his right hand's palm and dripped the life force onto the ring. He did not receive an audience with the devil, but he did get to talk to a fallen angel. To Tezeren, that was about as good as he could expect. He begged the angel to give him mastery over the mind, and the angel granted it to him on one condition: His soul. Tezeren agreed and was immediately bound with chains and pulled to the roof. The angel disappeared and Tezeren could immediately feel the power surge into him. But it was for naught, as he was dragged into the Great Fiery Pit itself. Now, at an ever constant age of 17, Tezeren worships the Father of Liars Baraquel half-grudgingly. He sees the angel as both his captor and the source of his power.

Sin: Tezeren delved deep into dark magiks and even struck a deal with one of the Great Fallen, who then brought him into eternal captivity, with Tezeren's soul as the binding stone.

I'm sorry, but I'm afraid I can't accept your character as it is. First of all, bloody jeans and t-shirt? For real? In the name of God, please modify your character's appearance in order to make sense with this setting. And if you can't figure out why jeans and t-shirt is wrong, then I'm afraid you're not fit for this campaign.

Your character's backstory is extremely lacking. Other than the fact that he is bipolar, which might be interesting if used in an interesting manner, you gave me absolutely zero information about him. Also, you're not going to play as an undead. Those who were brought to the Prisons were never killed, simply locked up.

Lastly, your character's sin is not nearly enough to gain him a lifetime of torment in the Prisons. As I said in the OP, only the greatest of sinners were sent to the Prisons: that means warlords, necromancers, and other such evil figures. Some (how many?) murders, one suicide and unbelief ain't enough: in the apocalyptic hellhole that was Sodom and Gomorrah after the fall of the angels, such acts were ordinary.

Yo Capra, reserving this post for my character sheet. Most likely I'll end up re-using my previous one, but I'll most likely go over the sheet again and make some improvements to it before submitting it; I'd feel really lazy just posting the same thing again, especially since there were parts I was unhappy with. Hopefully we can get it running this time ;_;

Well, you might be able to if you aren't an a$$hole about everything. You never explained the time period, other than just mentioning Sodom and gamora. Not even once does it say you have to have a character that is basically the ultimate sinner, so how was I to know that disregarding the bible would not be enough? Maybe if you explained more, people would join. Just go ahead and count me out. I won't play in an RP where I get reprimanded when I make a character with the information I have whilst expected to provide much more than I knew I would need to. Excuse me if I play with the hand I am dealt.

I simply pointed out something that needed editing in your char. No need to get pissed.

You never explained the time period, other than just mentioning Sodom and gamora (sic).

Eh, that's true, because it is not based on any precise historical period. Still, I thought that the fact that it was a fantasy setting was rather clear.

Not even once does it say you have to have a character that is basically the ultimate sinner

As you might notice, IMPLYING something does not always make it known to be. And you cannot assume people are just going to know things. As my mother has always told me, when you assume, it makes an "ass" out of "u" and "me".

You also never once said that the sinners were not killed or did not die. Nor did I assume we would be playing undead. Is there not a mention of an "afterlife" in the bible? Or did I grow up in the wrong Bible Belt?

Also, according to said bible, sin is not measured in value, simply in quantity. Multiple murders and a suicide paired with disbelief is more than enough to be put into the lake of fire.

No, I'm not defending my lack of placing information into my character sheet, I know for a fact that when I type late at night after a full day of work, that I can get lazy. But pointing out mistakes that you failed to explain, is not fault on my part. I have played GM many-a-time and I know that there will always be someone to take advantage of nothing being explained. No, I would not like for you to endure that, so I will be the asshole that points it out for the GM to fix

Fine, my mistake then. If you still want to play, please edit that part. Are we good?

This is nonsensical. So, let me guess: you automatically play as an undead character in every roleplay, even when they are never mentioned in the campaign description, unless the GM says clearly that you can't do that?

Also, I'm not looking to get into a "who knows more about the Bible" contest. Indeed there are mentions of an afterlife in the Bible. And so? The Bible mentions a Jewish princess decaptitating a saint, but that doesn't mean I'll be including that in the campaign...probably.

Also, according to said bible, sin is not measured in value, simply in quantity.

In Protestantism, yes. In every single other branch of Abrahamic religion, no. Thus, I think I'll follow the general rule of hamartiology, which admits that there are varying degrees of sin.

No. I never even thought that the players were undead. I thought they were in spirit form or in another "plane" of existence entirely. I simply took from what you had in the intro that players had to have died first.

hamartiology, which admits that there are varying degrees of sin.

I will have to research into this in order to obtain a general knowledge on the subject, but okay

The Bible mentions a Jewish princess decaptitating a saint, but that doesn't mean I'll be including that in the campaign...probably.

That would actually be pretty cool to have in the story

If you still want to play, please edit that part. Are we good?

Yes, and you will have to give me another day or two to create a new character, since i based (for the most part) my character off of my own life (yes, even the bipolar part, which you may have blalantly noticed by now-- i apologize), so I shall now use the writing powers of the gods to create a stunning (and actually well friggin thought out) character for this rp.

And as i apologized before, I will do so again. I do, in fact, have a case of bipolar, in which I have to a degree learned to control, but I am not making this an excuse. My abrupt actions are inexcusable and I sincerely apologize for the harsh words in which I have stated here. I hope there are no hard feelings.

This should be enough. Also, I read your new CS; while better than the last, there are still a couple of things that need fixing. First of all, there are a few typos (for example, magic is written like this, or magick if you want to listen to Crowley) and sentences that make no sense grammatically (for which to write with?), so I suggest you proofread it. Secondly, I suggest you expand on your backstory: it's kinda flat, the only thing you said was about his summoning of an angel.

Well, once he got the powers, he was immediately caught by divinity, so that's a dead end, but I do like the whole interest in the magics thing. I will have to expand on that when I get home. Spending time with the family today
