[OOC] New Teen Titans - Next Guardians of Jump City

Twelve years. It's been twelve years since the journey to japan and the defeat of the legend Brushogun. Since then, the Teen Titans returned to Jump City and continued to deliver justice to villains big and small. Though little change within the last decade, the biggest news of the Titans had to be the reappearance of Slade, who now went under the alias of Deathstroke. Since he changed names, his attacks have become more violent and chaotic, but just as strategically outlined as before.

In addition to the West and East Titans, The North Titans of the American-Canadian border and the South Titans of southeast Florida were founded. These actions were helpful with the rise of strong new villains and stronger, older ones. There had been many recent cases in which the full team was required to take down but a single person.

With the exception of the western team, the Teen Titans name has been passed down to new groups of heroes. The main reason was Robin, who refused to let go of the handle and let others protect the city. It wasn't a pride thing, but it resonated with him in a bad way. It reminded him of Bruce, who had picked him up off the streets. He didn't want to pull random kids into the thick of things, especially with so dangerous villains about not.

Now, the Teen Titans are losing their protective hold of their city, and from what the others have seen, it would seem that Robin is about ready to pass the baton.

Since we're going to double, I assume we're doing one male and female character each for our original team?

*le me skimming through the Superpower Wiki for some inspirations* For a mo' my mind presented me with the idea of a ferrokinetic guy and intangible girl... Time to work on them!

EDIT: Was thinking if you would like to keep your first post in the character tab reserved for character listing, like links to the specific character sheets for easier reference? I mean, we're gonna have a hell lot of characters for this RP.

Wow, so you drew that? To think that I'm also an art student, but I can't draw that well digitally... I like scripting and storyboarding more than character designing, haha.

oh nonononono, I don't have the ability to draw something on that sort of scope. As much as I'd like to, I was forced to just google search an image that worked for my character. The picture I'm using now it just about what I want for Pratt, save for a few little details. I wish I could draw that well though.

Wow I actually had a hard time with my CS, but I'm definitely having fun with them! I kept changing my mind juggling between the different superpowers to see which would be intriguing to use in this RP. I'd say it's a really difficult choice to make...

Just slapping my incomplete CS under the Characters Tab first because I'm having limited access to internet, so I want to get everything out before either the free wifi kicks the bucket or my laptop battery dies on me.

A few tidbits about my characters - I'll include them into my CS eventually after I'm done editing the draft:
= Rune is a cyborg-ish human from an alternate future - where WW3 actually happened, and cybernetic modification/enhancement to human body became increasingly popular in the aftermath, with people becoming disgusted about the biological limitations in the human body.
= Kenji is actually an alien from a faraway planet where the inhabitants are all made out of organic metals (imagine the metallic form of T-1000 from Terminator 2, heh). His current appearance is actually him imprinting on a certain prototype android that some Japanese company has made to reveal the very first kind of robot helpers for humans...and so far he likes this form.

I'm working on building the respective worlds my characters are originally from, then I include the info into their backstory so that it makes more sense to both of us.

Your girl's power is very interesting. I guess it's a subgenre of animal morphing? Like it seems more specific compared to BB's.

Idk but Kenji is becoming almost like a male version of Starfire as I continue to work on his background. Maybe much more subtle and not so emotional like Star but he shares similar awkward-funny curiosity when learning more about Earth customs :P

@tsukuneI guess you could say that it is, but it's more mystical in nature than compared to BB and his powers. I almost considered giving her some sort of chi manipulation, but decided to go against it.

I can't wait to see how all of our characters grow and develop!

So subtle combination of Raven's mystical bit with BB huh? That's cool, really.

Not sure about you but kinda liking the deja vu feel I'm getting at our main lineup: you playing a child of superhuman and a mystical shapeshifter, me a cyborg from an alternate future and an alien of a dying race.

Yeah, I am getting that feeling a little. But hey, it could be much worse. We could have a case of Superman and Batman Jr.

However, while the characters with their abilities are similar, I do think that they are still very much so their own characters. Ryan left his parents and home to train and become stronger after a humiliating solo mission, and Dreda follows the winds, using their guidance to push herself forward. From what I've gotten from your characters, they are WAAAAAY their own. Kenji, while similar to Star, I can see growing into something very different. Rune seems to be made a cyborg out of necessity, possibly from WW3 or it's aftermath, rather than a choice.

Yep, the slight vibe is there as a light remembrance to the original Titans before they went separate ways, but still original enough to take whatever plot twists we throw at them.

I think I'm having too much fun with their backstory that it's almost like a massive text dump. Heck gonna rewrite and summarize the whole thing before I fry your brain with info overload lol

I know the feeling. I have quite a few characters, but there's always those few that just really get into and can get carried away with.

Update: woohoo I've finally completed the CS!
The rewriting totally helped - at least it doesn't look like a major text dump anymore lol.

I think we can start...but I don't have any specific idea where and how we should begin the story. ^^;

Also, can I ask that your characters have crossed Beast Boy during his travels.

You mean Kenji? Hmm if that's the case I'll have to edit out the part about coma from his backstory. Or do you mean Rune instead?

Well, actually, I meant that both of your characters have crossed paths with BB during BB's travels, just so that he can some some sort of notion on them to bring them to jump City.

Oh I see. Sorry my brain is kinda low on steam now after finishing my CS. ^^;

I noticed that in your IC 2 of the 4 are singled out, and you wish for BB to cross paths with my characters - I can't help but feeling more and more curious about what you have in store for the next part...

On mobile right now so my IC will have to wait till tomorrow.
