CutUp Ya Never Be This Cool

Alright gentle RPers, this may, or may not be my second RP here. The basics of the RP is it's set like over a thousand years from the time of Dragon Age Inquisition, in a new age all together. It's named 'Bullet' because of the invention of firearms through the use of refined, grinded up Lyrium. The story would take place in the 100th year of the Bullet Age. At this point the firearms have become more sophisticated, with the level of technology being similar to the wild west, complete with revolvers, and the like.

The Bullet Age has proven to be just as violent as the last, as the last fifty years the Tevinter Imperium has been in a bitter slave uprising, as the invention of firearms have given the powerless the ability to fight against the magisters. The slave rebellion is backed by the Qunari, who wish to escalate the conflict so they could control Tevinter. The Magisters have slowly been losing this war, due to being increasingly out numbered.

The Free Marches have become a Democracy, the first infact, and have an elected President, and it has worked well for them. Ferelden is on the brink of collapse, suffering a increasingly horrible depression. Orlais continues to be a major power, but the most powerful country as of now is Nevarra, as they capitalized on the Tevinter Slave Rebellion, and have been slowly increasing their borders into the Imperium.

This story will deal with the sixth blight, and a group of Grey Wardens that are about to under go the joining.

That's the basic premise, if you've got questions, or if you're interested let me know.

Where are the mages in all of this? Still spewing fire from their fingertips or what? Totally interested though.

Oops, totally sliped my mind. I forgot a few things.

The mages are given a bit more freedom than during the Dragon Age, but are still pretty segregated, as instead of having towers, and circles they have reservations. Sections of land dedicated to them. There most mages live, and train. There is still a small presence of Templers there just in case, but the mages are in charge there. The Templers no longer serve only the Chantry, but they also report to the Inquisition as well. After the Mage-Templer War the Inquisition reinstated the order, but the Inquistion helps keep them in check, and that they are treating the mages fairly.

The Inquisition has become a legendary faction, similar to the Grey Wardens, but held in higher regard given that the Wardens are seen useful only during a Blight. They're reach has extended far throughout Thedas, and has become a recognized police force throughout the land.

The Dwarves are in serious decline. The Darkspawn completely invaded Orzammar, destroying the once great Dwarven city. This forced the Dwarves to retreat to the surface, forever sealing the city behind them. They were given land in the Frostback Mountians so they could rebuild. They made a new settlement, and named it New Orzammar.

Not much has changed for the Dalish elves. They prefer to stick to the classic weaponry of their ancestors, and continue their nomadic lifestyle.

I'm interested, though I'm curious about the lyrium bullets. Are we talking technology similar to Sha-Brytol Bolters (thus only dwarves would be able to safely handle the new ammunition) or have advances in lyriumcrafting nullified the dangers for all races?

I'll toss my hat into the ring as well. I'm assuming character creation encompasses the four playable races? Or are you going to impose some sort of limit on each?

Yes, all races are able to safely create the bullets, but generally the Dwarves create the most. Dwarven craft is still top notch after all.
@Cat Sidhe
Yep, any race, and class will be available. Though I'm not quite sure about the Qunari though, since in the Dragon Age none have survived the joining. I'm not sure if it's because of something biological since they're not of Thedas, or what Bioware had in mind for it. So I'm still on the fence on that, though I'm leaning towards making them avaliable since I love them so much. Played the hell out of my Qunari Inquisitor.

Considering refurbishing my surly, vulgar, and bellicose elven Inquisitor to suit this rp's storyline. (As in, she's sure as shit not Lavellan, nor is she in a position of even remote power, because no.)

Probably stripping her of her magic, though, since being both a mage and one of the races most likely to face discrimination would be pushing the limit, I think.

Also, another question - with the introduction of bullets and guns, will you be creating a new "class" to accomodate?

No, we'll be using the same classes, but with some tweeks to the Warrior, and Rouge classes, Mages will mostly be the same. I'm still thinking it through but for Rouges I see them as the straight up gunslingers, think something more akin to the Smugglers of SWTOR, and as snipers as well if the player prefers. Warriors will become more like Soldiers, I think they'd be wielding repeaters, and shotguns, real heavy weapons. The Specializations will be tweeked as well, and I'll be choosing ones from the previous games with some tweeks. Oh, and let us not forget that the classic swords, shields, and what not are still in use on rare occasions, especially shields as they're made sturdy enough to be able to withstand most firearms. I can see a Warrior using a shield, and a pistol, or something in a riot-shield-like manner.

Curious, but is raw lyrium and its many crafted forms now exorbitantly priced due to lack of easy mining access (what with Orzammar and most of the Deep Roads lost to the darkspawn)? I'm considering a sniper rogue, but if ammunition supply or pricing is a significantly limiting factor I might have to reconsider. Speaking of lyrium, is it now common knowledge in this age that lyrium is a Titan's blood?

Lyrium is a bit rarer yes, but there are very small number of mines left in other regions, and a few that the dwarves have discovered. But the bullets only need a small amount given how volatile the substance is. The existence of the Titans isn't commonly known, given the huge implications for dwarven culture, and faith. So it's known by the higher ups of the Inquistion, and Shapers.

I'm glad peeps are interested. I'll try to get this thing up, and running during the weekend. I've still got a few plot points that need to be ironed out.
