"...So the Wheel of Fate is turning..."

A small beep from his cellphone. He picks it up, reads the message quickly.

"The experiment was successful. But he broke out, sir. We have no idea where he's headed and what his intentions are."

He doesn't care. Experiment 008 will not cause any harm to their operations. He makes a speedy reply.

"It doesn't matter. He knows not to intervene. Don't message me again. I'm expecting company."

The blinds open. He welcomes the new day.

----

Anvil Town, 9 AM on the dot

It was a bright, sunny day. Perfect for welcoming new trainers to Anvil Town. Throughout the next week or so, new and upcoming trainers, breeders and such would be arriving to receive their very own pokemon, and pokedexes! As well as receiving the necessary equipment, they would also meet their mentor. In the Giga Region, it was customary for every new generation of trainers to have a mentor or two, to guide them when necessary and such. People bustled throughout the rustic town, and most of the public's attention was settled upon the local train station, where the new trainers would be arriving.

"What delightful country air! So sweet, so marvelous!" A young man declared, stepping off the train. He shone with extravagance, and his very presence seemed to demand attention. "I wonder... my princess... Could she be here?" Sterling Xavier Alexander Chandler Charbonneau was a wealthy young man. Although a bit spoiled, he was giving, trusting to the point of being naive, and a soul who was eager to learn. Bag over his shoulder, he high-tailed it out of the station and into the streets, where he marveled at the vendors and the rustic aura the town gave off. Charming, it was beautiful in it's very own way.

He soon spotted a pristine, white building. It stuck out like a sore thumb. Immediately, he recognized it as the Pokemon professor's laboratory. A grin played on his lips, and his pace quickened. He moved through thin alleyways and even waved to friendly passerby, who responded to his amiable gestures. Eventually, he stood at the sliding, glass doors of the lab.

One more step, and his fate would be changed forever.

Ray Monty was on the train or super fast thing! "Woah!" he called out in a loud voice for the fifth time as the train ran over a particularly large bump. Thankfully, he was alone in the compartment or whatever the seating area on a train is called.

Then from the middle aisle of the train he could hear a man's voice announce gruffly, "Ladies and Gents, one and all we have arrived at the town of Anvil! Home to the Professor's Lab, the- he cuts off as Ray dashes past him, and the fellow finishes with a grumble-"Darn, kids these days, always in a rush."

He didn't care that half the people on the train stared at him, as his figure blurred past them. He had business! A pokemon of his own! A partner which he could trust and rely on! His excitement kept on building as he neared the building. It was a large white one. Then he looked towards the door as he approached to notice another guy was already there.

"Hey!" He said with a little frustration in his voice. "You better not be after my first pokemon!"

What a yappy young fellow.
Sterling wasn't expecting to meet another one of the to-be trainers. But he welcomed it... At least, until the newcomer began spouting off about stealing first pokemon and whatnot. A little phased by the unfriendly greeting, Sterling blinked a couple of times at the younger male. He knew that there were plenty of pokemon to go around, right?

"...You do realize that you reserved the pokemon you wanted by signing up, right?" The pale-haired young man spoke to the younger, as though befuddled by his hostile behavior. "You should relax, and think before you behave in such an uncouth and unfriendly manner." Truthfully, Sterling was a little irritated by the younger's rash behavior, but he soon brushed it off.

"Forgive me." He sighed slowly. "That wasn't very nice of me. My name's Sterling, Sterling Xavier Alexander Chandler Charbonneau that is. I'm also here to get a pokemon--so I'll head in with you." He stated, stepping inside the lab. The glass doors parted for him, allowing the lobby's chilly air to hit him.

A surprisingly young man in a lab coat sat typing at a computer. His white hair was impossibly thick, as well as curly. His jawline was bold and sharp, and he had a handsome, almost dreamy appearance about him. However, his green eyes were sharp, with bags underneath them. His skin tone was a deep, pretty bronze.

Elliot Forrester

The sun shined down as Elliot finally got off the train, there was a light breeze blowing about which was keeping Elliot nice and cool. He looked around figuring out where to go as a boy a few years older than him flew past him. Well it looks like he’s picking up his pokemon as well, Elliot thought to himself as the boy turned round a corner and disappeared. The city was charming, which made Elliot feel a bit more comfortable as he made his way to the lab. It reminded him of his own home.

Elliot took the turning that the lilac haired boy made previously, figuring that he knew where he was going. As he casually walked down the road with a smile on his face, quietly humming a melody a white building started to get closer and closer. I can’t wait to get my very own squirtle, he’d been dreaming about this moment for years. The doors came into view now as the boy in a rush and someone else entered with him. As the doors glided open for him, he stopped for a second and took and deep breath and said to himself, so it begins…

Ray frowned as the dude he accused of being a thief defended himself. Stating that there was basically no way to steal, and that he (ray), should not talk to him that way. Ray turned away embarassed, but before he could apologize, the dude introduced himself to be Sterling Something or other something and another something.

"My name is Ray," he replied with a grin on his face, afterall maybe they could become friends. In short order they (Sterling and Ray) were both in a lab with an interesting looking guy. Young and yet with white hair, did he age badly or what happened there? Ray was too polite to ask him that, and instead turned around to the sound of the lab doors opening once again.

It was a blonde haired kid about the same age as him. So another kid wanting to become a trainer. Maybe I can start off with him better than the last guy I met.

He walked up to the blonde kid and held out his hand for a friendly hand shake. "Hi, My name is Ray Monty. But, you can call me Ray."

Ray kind of ignored/forgot about the professor for the moment, not caring if he had annoyed the man.

David was by the water on route 1. he had some time off being a elite four member and wanted to travel the Giga region again. He was using his personal team right now. As he was by the water he looked and saw a caterpie and Pidgey. It brought a smile to his face.a It reminded him of his battle with Lance. He was batling Lance's dragonite. David only had three pokemon left. His starter, butterfree, and Pidgeot. Those three pokemon got him his win against Lance he smiled and used two pokeballs to catch them. They were low level and were easy catches. The two pokemon were sent to the PC
"Just like old times.." David said to himself

He decided to head to Anvil town. it was still early and knew some trainers wre gonna get their first pokemon. He remembered gettign his starter. The starter was living with his parents now in his home region. He still uses it but only when he enters tournaments. He went to the Professor's lab to say hi. As he walked over he saw some trainers already there to get their pokemon.

The lab was even bigger than Elliot had first expected as he walked inside. The place didn’t really fit with the rustic theme of the town, but Elliot didn’t really mind that. He looked around at all the different equipment in the lab and had no clue what any of it was for. A look of fascination was seen across his face. He’d never been in anything like it before, there was a lab in his home town were his father worked, but his dad never let him in saying, “Labs are not for kids, especially curious kids like yourself who are prone to wondering and meddling with things he shouldn’t.” His dad was right about Elliot though, he did seem to get in a lot of trouble without even realizing it just because he had a curious mind.

“Hi, my name is Ray Monty. But, you can call me Ray.” A voice brought him back to the real world away from his little dream of home. It took Elliot a second to process what was going on, he turned to see the boy from before sticking his hand out to shake. Elliot reached for Rays hand and shook it gladly. Elliot noticed the confidence coming from Ray and he liked that.

“Yeah I’m Elliot Forrester, nice to meet you.” Elliot replied with a smile. “So I’m guessing you’re here for your first pokemon as well. Which one are you getting?” Elliot spoke, keeping the conversation going and trying to make a friend along the way. Behind Ray he noticed two people, one around the same age as him and the other older in a lab jacket talking. He wondered if that was going to be the person to finally give him his very own pokemon.

Apparently realizing that there were actual children present within the lab, waiting for their first pokemon, Professor Willow heaved a massive sigh and slowly shut his weathered eyes. His hands paused clacking on the keyboard and he pushed his chair back, standing up. The dark-skinned, pale-haired professor eyed the to-be trainers with deadpanned eyes, not appearing impressed in the slightest. Making his way towards them, he grabbed a clipboard off of another, messily-organized desk.

"Cut the chit-chat for now." His voice was sharp. "I have pokemon and pokedexes to give out." And then he had to get back to work. The white-haired individual suppressed an annoyed groan at the very thought. "Sterling is first." He spoke in a more mellowed manner than he had previously. "Piplup was your chosen starter." It appeared that the pokeballs were all organized on a nearby coffee table, with names next to them. "Pokedexes are next to the group of pokeballs. Grab one."

Moving in a hurried manner, Sterling quickly grabbed the Pokeball with his name next to it, as well as the red pokedex. He had no mind to irritate the snappy professor. Professor Willow absolutely ignored David's presence--because he was busy and any visitors should actually announce when they're coming, and not barge in without permission. Although his family supposedly personally knew the professor, he still made sure to keep on his best behavior.

"After I hand these out, I guess you'll meet your mentor. If he's not late." A twinge of irritation could be heard on Willow's tone, hinting that said mentor was already late.

Ray grinned as the blonde guy took his hand, and gave him his name. Elliot. A cool name. Already in the past five minute, he had met two people with names he had never heard of before.

"Oh my starter is Totodile." he barely managed to get out before another voice spoke up.

"Cut the chit chat."

Well, ok. Dude....

He turned back to see what he had thought was the professor, then nodded to himself, as the dude went on saying -grab dex's and pokemon or some such.

He watched as Sterling up first grabbed his first pokemon. Ray shifted his feet impatiently. Then after Sterling finished as he thought it was first come first serve he took his own pokemon and dex.

Then all of a sudden it dawned on him. "Uh, sir or professor, we haven't got your name yet."

At one point while all of this was happening Ray thought he heard someone enter the Lab, but when he looked towards the door, he didn't notice anybody. Weird.

David waved at the professor but frowned as he didnt notice him *Well that that was rude* He thought walking into the room. He watched the trainers getting their pokemon, a small smile on his face. He remembers when he got his first pokemon. It was a fire type. Cyndaquil. He remembers using Cyndaquil and catching Pidgy and Caterpie. "SO young.." He mumbles to himself.

Then the door open. he looked back no one there. His eyebrow rose, and he put a hand by his pokeballs. It was Jolteon. He let out Jolteon. He then heard the boy's question. "His name is Professor Willow. Hey Professor its been awhile.." He walked over to the new trainers. "Mentors? Whats that? I dont think they had those when I started my Journey." Jolteon looked at the start pokemon and smiled letting out a bark to say hello.

David smiles and said "Jolteon likes to say hello." David got down petting the electing dog pokemon, his hair stood up. "Yea I know. Petting Jolteon gets my hair all staticy." David said with a small smile. Jolteon barked happily, he liked being pet by David.

“Cut the chit chat.” A stern voice quickly ended Elliot’s and Rays conversation, they both turned to look who interrupted them to see an even more unimpressed face than the unimpressed tone that he had used. The man who hadn’t introduced himself went on about the pokedexes and pokeballs with everyone’s starters. Elliot quickly followed Ray as they went and grabbed their very own pokedex. The next table had around twenty pokeballs on it with various names, he scanned through them all until he came across his own name: Elliot Forrester. Elliot hesitated to pick it up for a second feeling quite nervous that his very own pokemon adventure was going to happen, he slowly grabbed the pokeball and inspected it. Wow there’s actually a Pokémon in this.

“Uh, Sir or Professor, we haven’t got your name yet.” Ray had said next to him, but Elliot didn’t really care about his name at the moment he was too happy that he finally had his very Pokémon. Everyone turned around for something as Elliot continued to look at his pokeball with a massive smile across his face.

“His name is Professor Willow. Hey Professor its been awhile…” This time Elliot did look up because he’d never heard this voice before. It came from a young man standing behind them all with long dark brown hair with a Pokémon he’d never seen before.

Might as well learn how to use this thing. Elliot flipped open the pokedex, a light popped up on it and he pointed it at the Pokémon to scan it. Up popped a picture of the Pokémon standing in front of him with information all over the screen. In a monotone voice the pokedex spoke, “Jolteon, It accumulates negative ions in the atmosphere to blast out 10000-volt lightning bolts.”

“Yeah I don’t think I really want to pet that one…” Elliot said out loud to himself a little bit hesitant after the young man spoke about Jolteon saying hello.

Staring at this new Pokémon, Elliot completely forgot about his own for a moment. He brought it to inspect and pressed the button on it, suddenly it popped open with a red beam pulsating out of it. A split second later, a little Squirtle was in front of him saying in a raspy voice, “Squirtleee.” A beam of excitement came across Elliot’s face has he chucked himself at the Pokémon and hugged it.

"...You didn't call me to tell me you would be coming." Not that Willow would be too interested in meeting with David, either. The white-haired man wore a weary and put-off expression. "If you have something you wish to talk to me about, then you'll have to wait until I'm done with these... children." He honestly didn't know what else to call the new trainers. He was surprised that the kids didn't know his name. Maybe they lived under rocks or something, and crawled out from the dirt. Mostly everyone in the region was familiar with his name by now, with him being one of the only pokemon professors around.

"Mentors are customary." Professor Willow told David. And it was true. Mentors had been apart of this for awhile. He hardly knew David anyways. Elite Four? Gym leader? He was someone of importance. Professor Willow really didn't care, especially with the sense of entitlement David was showing, just randomly showing up and expecting to be addressed in a friendly manner. Idiot.

Sterling remained silent for the most part. He did not want to risk offending the prickly professor. He had gotten his starter and his pokedex, and he supposed that was what really mattered, despite the professor's bitter demeanor. He had not expected Professor Willow to have such a personality--after everyone had spoken so highly of him and his discoveries. Apparently, he was the youngest pokemon professor to ever become one in the region.

Suddenly, the glass doors opened, and a young man in a stylish trench coat rushed in. His hair was peculiar, both black and white.

"My apologies, Professor Willow!" The young man was panting. He raced across town to reach the lab. "The train was delayed--I almost got lost--"

"It's fine." The professor bluntly asserted.

"O-Oh. Okay. Good." The young man took a deep breath, before turning to the new trainers. "Hello there! I'm Flora Willowblossom, and I've been chosen to be the mentor of the new trainers! Mentors usually do things like help trainers catch pokemon-- or advise trainers on which pokemon to catch that may fit them the best--things like that. But it's nice to meet you all!"

Ray spun around pokeball and pokedex still bundled up in his arms, nearly forgotten as he almost dropped them. The voice belonged to somebody he never seen before, but seemed a confident guy to say the least. Ray nodded as he recollected what was said, that the Professor's name: Willow.

Time passed and Ray kind of just stood back and listened.

Ray was always a clever kid, sometimes too clever, and so as things continued to happen, he picked up on certain conversational clues you might say. The latest arrival or mystery man had a Jolteon. He learned that after eavesdropping on Elliot trying out his dex.

A couple other things Ray discovered about this older trainer with the brown eyes-He knew the Professor-He has been a trainer for a good while.

Good things to note, My goal is to be a strong trainer, so I have to watch out for all these new people and find out what I can. I'll also have to keep an eye out for an expert, that way I can learn fast and have an edge over everybody else.

He then blinked a few times, coming out of his thoughts, as he saw Elliot release his pokemon. It looked like a turtle and Ray guessed that it was a water type. "Cool, I'll show my starter."

Pressing the button on the pokeball, a red light shot out of it, and Totodile was sent out. Immediately it started dancing on the spot putting one foot in the air and then the other, with a wide mouth smile on its face. Ray grinned. "Well, at least it's happy."

Things seemed to calm down for a few minutes and Ray took a little time to take a look at the cleanliness and professional organization of the Laboratory. It impressed him.

Abruptly a man rushed in, and apologized to the prof. A minute later, Ray learned the dude is named Flora and a Mentor to us, our own expert. My own expert. Ray wanted exclusivity to this guy's time.

Thus he proposed a deal to him as he approached Flora, "Hey Flora, if you only mentor me-I'll make sure to impress everyone with my trainer skills."

When the train stopped Ted's excitement only grew. He had preparing for this day for a while, the day he would get his first Pokemon and start his journey. His mom had been telling him no to traveling for years, she even let his older brother get his first Pokemon and now he already has 4 badges and is on his way to becoming a great trainer. Ted had to beg and plead to get on this trip but he finally got his mother to loosen the reigns and here he his in Anvil Town starting his journey.

Once he got off the train he followed other to the white building that was Professors Willows lab. Once he stepped inside the lab he could smell the clean on the lab equipment and the crispy made him look around in awe.

"Cut the chit-chat for now." A sharp voice said. "I have pokemon and pokedexes to give out." Professor Willow said.

The professor looked just the same as he did on TV and that made Ted jump on the inside with joy. He was one of the last ones up to get his pokemon and pokedex. He choose Snivy as his starter simply because it was one of his favorite pokemon that he studied about in school. Ted held his pokeball with Snivy inside when he noticed a more experienced trainer with a yellow pokemon next to him.

Ted walked up to the trainer with a light in his eyes.

"Wow! Super cool pokemon." Ted said with a simile then used his pokedex to find out all about the different pokemon in the room. He counted a Squirtle, a Totodile, and the Jolteon. Ted smiled at the three he had already seen. The he remembered he had just also got new pokemon and people might want to see it.

Ted pressed the button on the middle of the pokeball and it opened, a light shot out and Snivy appeared in front of him. He looked up at Ted with a bored expression and yawned at him, Ted chuckled at his behavior and picked the green pokemon up into his arms. Snivy started to get comfortable in the boys hold and climbed on his head were he curled up.

"Well at least I know he likes me."
------

Jimmy had been on Route 1 when the train came in with the 'fresh meat' as he liked to call it. Most of the Gym Leaders and other league officials came from all around to see the new trainers and what pokemon they choose. Jimmy was walking into town when he remembered his started pokemon and how cold the Professor was back then, and even as he stepped into the lab and heard him talking to the younger kids, he was still bitter to the core.

Jimmy noticed the Jolteon and the man standing next to it was David, the elite four memeber. He stood in the back watching the newbies "ohh" and "ahh" over his pokemon. He had an itch to jump in and steal his thunder, even Jimmy could tell that now was not the time to ruin the moment so he just hung back on the wall and watched the first moments happen.

"Welcome, welcome!" Flora stated, noticing Ted walk into the lab. "Another new trainer? Come get your starter?" He said in a chipper manner. Flora was severely different from Professor Willow, welcoming, kind and eager to interact with the new trainers. Flora was a trained expert on pokemon as well as pokemon battling. Even though he didn't look like it, he was incredibly witty and challenging as an opponent. The young, odd-haired man moved his gaze along the many faces in the laboratory, noticing David quickly. "Hello there! How is the Pokemon League these days? Get any promising challengers?" He inquired from the Elite Four member.

"Ah! Hello!" Flora jolted back into attention as Ray walked up to him, thoroughly interested in what the trainer would have to say to him. "There's a fire in your eyes! It's promising; I like it!" He complimented Ray with a soft smile. But after Ray spoke, he tipped his head to the side. "I'm terribly sorry, young man. But I can't. It's in my responsibility to help all of the new trainers--although don't worry!" He winked at Ray. "Since you're so eager, I'll give you this!" From his coat pocket, he procured an odd, white Pokeball. "I tend to have gifts for all new trainers... But you'll have to do with this for now. It's a Premier Ball, one of the rarer pokeballs."

"Not to mention, you all start with five to begin with." Flora moved his gaze to Professor Willow curiously. Noting it, the Professor wordlessly walked into a dark back room and came back, with a large, cardboard box. He set the box down and opened it, revealing it to be full of Pokeballs.

"Five each." The Professor permitted stoically. Flora, however, brightened.

"Thanks! For the beginning lesson, I'll be teaching you all to have pokemon battles--as well as how to catch a Pokemon!" He announced. "Two of you will face off against each other in a demonstration." He told all of the new trainers in an eager tone of voice.

"I'll do it!" Immediately, Sterling straightened out his back. He wished to get a taste of how being a trainer would be, firsthand. There was no room for dawdling! With a wide grin, he released his starter--a rather large Piplup, who immediately turned to peer up at his trainer. "Hello! ...How are you?" He questioned the water type, who seemed pleased and chirped merrily. "I should give you a name..." Sterling hummed thoughtfully. "I like Brody. Do you like Brody?" The Pipulp seemed thoughtful for a moment, before nodding. "Brody it is! Let us march into battle, Brody!"

The two proceeded to pose dynamically.

((Lol, I am trying not to laugh as I'm writing this, but uh... I am going to describe some pokemon moves. My descriptions might not be amazingly accurate. But bear with me, and I'm sure you'll see where I am coming from with these descriptions.))

Ray noticed another new trainer arrive and send out a Snivy. It looked like it already was comfortable with him, it was cool to see them together.

Turning back to the mentor, Ray was happy that the mentor liked him, but disappointed that his request was denied. Still though he was given the premier ball and he cherished it. His family, his mother most especially said that gifts were to be valued highly, because they are special in the sense that someone gave them to you, a small token of their kindness.

He nodded as he thought about his mom and how she must be missing him so much right now. Don't worry I'll make sure to see you soon. Ray hoped anyway. Depends if his journey allowed him the means to get back home.

"Thanks Flora, this is a really cool ball." Ray then watched as Sterling sent out his starter a penguin? It looked like a strong pokemon. Hearing about a battle Ray was quite eager to give his pokemon some practice and against the penguin seemed as good idea as any.

"Ok, Sterling lets have a battle." Ray challenged him and Sterling seemed to be happy to oblige. In short order him and Sterling faced off in the middle of a nearby field. an open outside arena, with the clear blue sky above, as a breeze ruffled his hair, this area did seem to Ray a great place to check out what his pokemon can do.

They both sent out their pokemon: His Totodile and Sterling's Piplup. Ray started off with a Leer attack where his Toto. opened his eyes wide, stared at the opposing pokemon while also putting his face forward aggressively. The piplup seemed scared and fell down for a second. It seemed too frightened to defend itself much.

Piplup replied with a pound attack, which looked like at least to Ray that piplup punched his totodile in the face.... C'mon Totodile you can be tough and win this one... C'mon Toto... Totodile obviously looked a little roughed up but he wasn't out of the battle yet.

For three turns the same moves encountered each other. Leer vs Pound. Totodile seemed almost to the point of falling over for a very long nap but he managed to keep his feet. Piplup looked almost defenceless from the repeated Leers. At last, as Totodile followed up its last leer with a next turn scratch, basically a slap with claws, the piplup didn't have enough defence to face the 'fearsome attack' and fell over, completely knocked out.

Ray returned his pokemon to his pokeball.

"It was a good battle Sterling. "Maybe you will win next time." He said in a friendly, good, sportsmanlike manner.

David rolled his eyes at the rude but obviously stressed professor. "Yea yea old man." he sat watching the new trainers and looked seeing jimmy. he walked over and said "Hey Jim...its been awhile....has youre pokemon gotten any stronger?" He smiled and watched as the mentor came in and handed everyone a pokeball. he decided to be night and said "hey guys take these." He handed the trainers each a potion.

he watched the trainers battle. Both water pokemon were certainly strong. He smiles seeing the Totodile's stategy. But he had to be careful, that could cost him the battle. he clapped when the battle was over. "Good job guys." He said getting down and petting both pokemon. He fed piplup a revive. David stood up and said "I can tell both youre pokemon are going to be powerful. You two will also get stronger. Its up to you two to believe in each other though." David smiles at both.

He then went to Flora and asked him. "So when did this mentor thing start? It wasnt around when I started my journey." he then had a idea. "why dont we have a battle? im sure you have some pokemon on you." David smiles.

Jimmy watched the new trainers open there pokemon and study them. It brought back a lot of memories from his early days.

David waleed over to him with a simile. "Hey Jim...its been awhile....has your pokemon gotten any stronger?"

Jimmy smile at this, see the last time they had a match it did not end in Jimmy's favor and ever since he has been working towards getting better as a Gym leader.

"Hello David, it has been a while hasn't it? My pokemon are doing fine and I can see that yours are too." He said then gestured to Jolteon.

He followed the group outside and watched the match being. He like the strategy of Ray, and noted the boys patience while he battled. He stepped up behind David and smiled at the two trainers who just battled.

"I agree with David, your pokemon will grow up to be strong." He said proudly.

Then he heard about a battle brewing between Flora and David. It would be something to see.
-------

Ted walked up and claimed his five pokeballs with Snips still atop his head. He walked out with the others to watch the battle take place. This would not be his first time watching a battle, he would watch his older brother battle all the time and each time it would give him a rush of adrenalin that would flow through his body at a fast pace.

The Totodile and Piplup battled fiercely, but the Totodile won. Ted did a fist pump in the air and a short cheer.

"That was awesome! Great job guys."

Ted was ready to have a battle himself after that action.

Elliot smiled at the warm presence of Flora, happy that he was going to be his mentor. All he did was smile at Flora as he politely told Ray that he had to be everyone’s mentor. The other boring Professor had gone into the back to grab a big cardboard box, he opened it to reveal a load of empty pokeballs. It was an unexpected surprise for Elliot not realizing that he was getting so much free things. He brought quite a bit of money with him that he’d been saving for quite a while now, expecting to buy different types of gear.

The next part was unexpected as well to Elliot because Flora wanted two people to fight and he didn’t expect to be fighting so quickly. Ray and the other guy who was the first to arrive who Elliot had just found out his name was Sterling were the first to ask. Seeing that Elliot wasn’t in the fight he moved away and sat down on the ground with his legs crossed. Squirtle plodded along behind him and sat down on his legs watching the fight as well. Elliot started to cuddle him. Hmmm what to call you, what to call you. Squirtle replied with, “Squirtle, squirt.” Elliot just giggled at him.

As they started to fight, Elliot watched how they both fought. Learning their strengths and weaknesses. Sterling went for an all-out attack while Ray went on the defensive. In the end, Rays Totodile managed to win, but the Totodile seemed like it was about to faint itself. Elliot noted all of this in his head. “Well that was exciting.” Elliot smiled, looking up at them all from the ground, he kept hold of Squirtle as he stood up and went over to everyone.

((I'd like all trainers to have cellphones to be able to call each other--and Flora. Makes the story more interesting, y'know? xD))

The battle was long and admittedly hectic. Sterling had just figured out how to command his pokemon--but he figured that he, alongside his small partner, did a good job. If anyone asked, Totodile had just won by a small margin. Sterling was proud of Brody. The water type had put his all into the battle and that was all that Sterling could really ask for, from any pokemon. The two of them were just beginners, with a long and steady road ahead of them. Patience was key. They would need to learn about each other first in order to become more adept at battling, and just living alongside each other.

"Good job!" Sterling exclaimed as he scooped Brody up fondly, coddling the Piplup to his chest. The small Piplup chirped in a pleased manner. With that, he turned to Ray. "We'll win next time, for sure though." He spoke easily to the younger trainer, eyes narrowing and a teasing smirk on his face. There was going to be a lot of training in the future, and Sterling was glad that he had chosen such a tough little pokemon to travel alongside him.

Flora clapped loudly, a smile visible on his face. He was truthfully glad that the trainers had approached the task with such vigor. Them being eager to battle was certainly a good sign. Clearing his throat, he decided to give them a small lesson on stat buffing and de-buffing moves, which may prove useful to them. He spoke in a voice that was loud enough to be heard by all trainers.

"When using stat buffing or de-buffing moves, such as Leer, or Tail Whip, I'd like you all to know that these types of moves all have different stages. For example, Leer lowers your opponent's defense by one stage while the move Screech lowers your opponent's defense by two stages. Therefore, Screech can be viewed as a more powerful version of Leer. Many stat buffing moves do have separate moves that can be viewed as more powerful versions. Thanks to the people at Cav Corp, a technology center that assists with the Pokedex, your Pokedexes can now describe the effects and type of moves that your pokemon can learn. If any of you want advice with pokemon moves, feel free to approach me. Or call me. If any of you are interested, come to me and I'll tell you my cell phone number."

"But you all did brilliantly today!" Flora stated cheerily, clearly glad with the outcome. "I'm very pleased at your efforts!" He paused as David approached him, blinking slowly. "Ahh... I only have one Pokemon on-hand right now. But if you're okay with one-on-one, then sure I'll battle you!" He stated with an amiable smile, before turning to the new trainers. "If any of you would like to observe our battle, then feel free to do so."
