It was a supposed to be monotonous day. You had nothing out of the ordinary planned, nothing special you needed to do. Perhaps you would do some shopping, perhaps you would go watch T.V; in other words, simple. tedious tasks that you do habitually. The humdrum of an unvaried routine would echo in your mind, and you were none the worse off - perhaps you were content with the tedium, or perhaps you wavered on what kind of life you wished you had, not quite content with your current one, but also afraid to start a new one; or perhaps you took an extreme wish, and held on to the glimmer of hope in your heart, wishing that somehow, someday, the unthinkable would happen, and magic would color your life.

Today, of all days, that wish would come true.

You were all different individuals; some similarities, many differences. Nothing you could have known would have led you to predict that your fates would become entangled. You were worlds apart, and so apart from the other that whatever you did share in common would have been rendered moot by the physical and mental distances. But today, you shared between all of you three things:

Right now, your days was uninspiring; a restless feeling of ennui had overcome you.

Right now, you were walking away; from your room, from the supermarket, from a life you wished to leave behind.

And, right now, you were ALONE.

You all turn a corner, and find yourselves lost . . .

Shadows surrounded you. You do not know where they came from, or what they are shadows of, but you know you cannot get caught. You've felt the chill of their breath; you've seen their cloaks of death. You hear their whispers in the dark, calling out to you, and know that they yearn for you. And most of all, you can taste the decay in the air, something that they had brought along with them, something that they will bring to you if you do not run!

The world you are now in is a twisted mockery of the world you know. The sun is sickly green, it's rays dizzying you and confusing you; the earth is a dark-purple stain, the color of bruised skin, with the texture to match. The trees that surround you are gnarled and withered and black as death, yet they stand tall and terrifying, their branches seeming to follow your every step, like hands tempted to grab you in a thorny embrace. The sky is a bright, blinding red, and scarlet blood drizzles down from its gray clouds.

You are Alice, lost in mad Wonderland out to make you one of its own.

You start losing breathe, and feel your energy drain away, as your legs waver and your mind sinks into despair. Then, suddenly, a glimmer hope appears, like a light at the end of a tunnel. You hear voices and turn. From across you are other girls, girls who are fleeing from the same shades that haunt you. And, more importantly, you see a girl waving towards all of you, dressed in what looks to be the child of a ball gown and a suit of armor with an azure spear in hand. There are no shades around her.

"You girls! Over here, quickly!"

And thus your adventure begins.

It had been a normal day for Holly. Nothing out of the ordinary. She had woken up slightly earlier than normal, so perhaps that was a sign that the day would be different from the normal routine. Her solution to being up early was to pick up the book she had began reading only the night before, and was half way through, and continue to read that. It was what she would normally do when she had a bit of spare time but there was no point in getting on her computer.

The reading caused her to almost entirely forget that she was supposed to actually get up and out of bed causing something of a rush to get up and ready. Holly pulled on her clothes in a haphazard manner, grabbing some food on the way out of that house as she called out a quiet good bye to her family. Soon she was out walking in the rain, the lovely weather that always occurred in Scotland, slowly eating an apple.

The shadows that began to appear in the corner of her eye didn't concern her for a short while before they grew, began to speak and catch up with her. Panic formed inside her chest as the world seemed to change around her and she began to run as fast as she could. She didn't know what was going on, and was incredibly confused, but just continued to run.

The sudden appearance of another girl didn't make the situation much worse even as Holly looked at her. She didn't seem... normal for one thing. But it was better then noting. Feeling out of breath she turned and ran as quickly as she could towards the girl that appeared and hoped that she hadn't made too bad a decision. After all following strangers was hardly ideal. But everything about this was strange.

Hopefully the girl that had spoken would be able to ward away these shades. Then it would turn out to be fine, right?

"Have a nice day."

Genevieve Darrows bowed respectfully to her tutor, the lesson having come to an ed at last. It had been a dance lesson, specifically for the ballroom, and though it might not seem as though it was important, it was a vital aspect of social interactions. She had to be able to carry herself well, and even a slight mistake might be noticed and capitalized upon, at least by those who sought to bring her disgrace and disrespect. It would also be useful for when it became time to pick out a suitor, though that would not be for a while now.

With the lesson concluded, she turned on her heels and left the room, walking intently towards her next lesson. A schedule was laid out in her mind of things she had to do and places she had to go, one she tried to adhere to as best she could. there was just so much responsibility she had, and things that she needed to learn and attend to, that she couldn't afford to waste any time. That and her own personal belief, since she saw it as letting those people who counted on her down if she didn't carry her burden of obligation well enough.

Still, she couldn't help but feel her mind begin to wander as she strode along the brightly colored and warmly decorated halls of the Academy that she attended. It had become more prevalent in recent days, though she didn't know the cause for it. But she had....begun to doubt, who she was, what she was doing. The weirdest sensation had lingered in her thoughts, the feeling that something was missing from her life, an uncertainty that this was what she wanted to do, that this was the life for her.

A sigh filled her chest as she glanced out a window at the sunny day outside. Yet for how nice it was, it didn't fill her with energy, or make her any happier. There was just this void, an uncertainty of purpose, and she didn't know how she could fill it. In the meanwhile she had made it to her classroom basically on autopilot, and without thinking opened the door and stepped through.

It was only when she had turned around and prepared to greet her next instructor that she noticed something was off. Very off, in fact. The room was now a corridor, her instructor nowhere to be seen. It was strange colors, colors that confused and swirled, before she realized that she wasn't inside at all and the sky was the color of blood and there were shadows closing in around her with deaths on their wings and oh god what was going on here-

Stop it. A mental slap knocked her out of that mindless panic, bringing her back to the present. She ran, but now she did so consciously, and not in tumultuous fear. It was enough to notice the other girls nearby, confirming that she was not the only one in this predicament. Other classmates? She could only hope so.

Then suddenly a bright light in front of her, a girl wearing armor with a spear who stood in front of her and who, most importantly, had none of those shades that threatened to tear her back into mindless fear once more. So the direction was hardly needed as Genevieve followed the instructions and ran to the girl. And in the meanwhile she could only wonder. What was going on here?

Ingrid had gone outside to go to the nearby video game store, where she would we getting the latest and hottest MMORPG called Fighting Magical Girls. She had heard good reviews of the game, and decided to get it for herself to try out. Now, on her way home from the store and eager to try it out, she had ran home quickly using all of the main streets that she could use. Once she got home her mother had greeted her, asking if Ingrid was okay since she had to go alone to the game store, since her mother was still worried about that the Brain Cancer could come back to Ingrid. Ingrid simply smiled back to her mother and held the PC game up to her mother, giving her mother a peace sign.

"Of course I'm fine, let me know when Dinner is ready!" Ingrid said as she had raced upstairs, her mother shaking her head with a kind smile, due to how outgoing that Ingrid was. Ingrid had ran towards her room and opened the door, her room looked a little different than usual. There was no computer, no bed, no tv, none of her consoles were there either. Not even her stash of secret food was nowhere to be seen, Ingrid widened her eyes in confusion before walking in.

"The room's... empty?" Ingrid said as her voice had echoed throughout the room, then the door slammed shut right behind her. She turned around quickly and hit the door with her fist, confusion being the number one emotion right now. "Dad I swear if you are playing a prank on me!" Ingrid had hit the door more times, most of the time if her father had pulled of something like this, you could always hear his laugh. But, Ingrid couldn't even hear his laugh this time.

"What's going on?" Ingrid said before she turned around, to see that the room had extended to what it looks like forever. It looked somewhat like a hallway as Ingrid grit her teeth, she had noticed that the game case in her hand had disappeared as well. "Noooo! I saved up for that game!" Ingrid cried out, she had been saving up for the game for ages, eager to play it and be the top of that game as well.

Ingrid had looked back up from her hand to see shadows, which confused Ingrid a lot, but then the smell kicked into her, she wanted to barf. "What the hell is going on?" Ingrid said as she saw them reaching and calling for her, which made Ingrid very uncomfortable around them. She then shook her head to regain herself as she started to run down this hallway like room.

Ingrid had absolutely no idea what was going to happen to her, or what was even happening in general. Ingrid just wanted to play her video game on her computer and be one of the very best in that game, but she just had to be interrupted by this extremely bizarre moment. Ingrid didn't have that much stamina in her, since she already had ran up to her room. "What's going to happen to Mom and Dad?" Ingrid said worryingly, clenching her fists together hard as she ran.

Ingrid then tripped over and fell to her knees, getting carpet burn on her right knee as she whimpered in pain. She had tried to get back up, but her arms had barely any energy, the same for her legs as well. Her mind was starting to go all hazy, making it hard to think in the current situation. She then heard a voice as she looked up, to see a girl in armor and holding a spear. "Is this just a dream?" Ingrid said, but then shook her head as she got up from the ground.

"Even if it was, I'm not going to get a game over so quickly!" Ingrid said before she looked towards the other girls across from her, grinning at them before she had ran forward towards the girl, quickly getting behind her.

Having previously skipped school by pretending to leave the house whilst waiting for her mother to go off to work, then sneaking back in through the door in her backyard, Sasha was having quite the day listening to music in her room whilst she roamed the Internet hopping from site, to site and absorbing all kinds off random knowledge as she did.

After wasting almost the entire day being unproductive and listening to as many albums as she could illegally download without overloading her hard-drive, Sasha found that she was ridiculously hungry. As she lifted herself off of the bed and began walking out into the corridor leading to the kitchen, she questioned as to why she never went to go eat anything throughout the rest of the day. She quickly replied to her thought that it was entirely out of laziness and that she knew that. Her mental superior, her, conceded.

When she turned the corner into the kitchen, her eyes were met with a miasma of black and grey tones all of which were unfamiliar to her. Sasha reached out for the light switch so as to get on with the creation of food that would hopefully soothe the empty feeling that was worsening in her stomach.

Then it hit. A wave crashed over Sasha filling her with feelings that she didn't know human beings were capable of forming. The only thing that began to run through her mind was 3 letters. One word. Run. And run she did. Despite running on what could be compared to an empty gas tank, she managed to keep herself going for what seemed like forever.

Did she pass out on her way to the kitchen or something? This had to be some kind of nightmare. As she ran, she noticed a bright light and a person in a suit of armor with a spear. As well as what appeared to be other figures running toward the light.

Even though Sasha wasn't exactly a fan of taking the common route, she decided that whatever that bright light and person had to offer was better than the maddening smell of death and those shades that taunted her sanity.

As the girls rushed towards her, the azure one frowned. There were too many today. Far too many. It wasn't unheard of, but it was unusual. The last time something like this had happened was a hundred years ago, when that occurred. Prepping her spear, she settled into a low crouched, eyes flickering about, and chose a target. Holly was the closest, so she would have to deal with her first.

Propelling herself forwards, she was lost to the others in a sudden burst of movement, going at a speed untraceable by the normal eye. The only indication of where she had gone was the trail of dust that had followed in her wake. The next time she appeared, it was behind Holly and above the shadows that hunted her. She spun in the air and her spear-arm made a grand sweep sidewards, the 2 meter long weapon cleaved through the shadows with ease. The cloaked figures well to the ground, their mist like bodies liquefying into a dark black substance. Landing on the ground, she turned to her next targets: the shadows after the Genevieve.

As she was about to charge, she noticed the group of shadows around the Ingrid were in line with those of Genevieve's. Quickly seizing the moment, she switched her hold on the spear, its head facing downwards, and pulled it far back. Without so much as a cry of effort, she launched the weapon forwards. The power that came from the throw was unnatural; the crack in the air that followed its wake was the echo of the sound barrier breaking. It tore through both groups of shadows in a second and landed behind the Sasha.

She had planned to move towards her spear and tear through the last group, when a tingle ran down her spine. Her instincts blaring, her eyes widened as she saw a shadow roll forward, just to the side of Sasha. This shadow was a titan compared to the rest, as large as elephant on its legs, with an unmistakably malevolent air. Rather than a mist-like entity, however, this one more closely resembled a torrent of water, its mouth arms and mouth shifting chaotically. It's movements were erratic, yet rapid, and it quickly closed in on Sasha.

She knew that she wouldn't reach Sasha in time, but she would try.

Once again disappearing, she pushed her legs as fast as they could take her. The large shadow loomed over Sasha, and its smaller counterparts hung back, either afraid or unwilling to get in its way. It bent down, opened its large, hollow mouth and bit into Sasha . . .

Or, at least, it would have, had the girl not pushed her out of the way. Still, though a death-dealing wound had been avoided, Sasha did not come away unscathed: the entirety of her right side was gashed and scarred were its non-existent teeth ripped through. Despite these wounds, the girl tossed Sasha a short distance away, staring warily at the great shadow before her.

"You girls! Take her and run! Keep moving west until you find another group of girls dressed like me, and don't stop moving!" she bellowed. Sweat trickled down her forehead. Fighting like this was going to be difficult with them around; she wasn't able to grab her weapon in the time she took to save Sasha, and the monster in front of her was not an easy one, unlike the small shadows earlier. If the girls were still around, she couldn't fight and protect them at the same time. They had to leave - it was risky, but it was better than being here. "What are you doing!? get out of here!"

Close, she was so close. Genevieve's heart pounded, muscles starting to burn with each deep breath as she ran for the salvation that waited for her. She was, of course, aware of the other girls, but for the moment she had to focus on herself, then she could worry about everyone else. Not normally a decision that she would make, but her fear was overwhelming her better nature, and it was just common sense as well. No one could blame her for that, right?

Then suddenly the girl was gone, sending a bolt of terror through Genevieve. Was she leaving? After warning them and promising them salvation, was she going to abandon them now? It seemed too cruel to be true, and indeed it wasn't. Her vision was drawn away to the side, to see the girl dispatching the shadows with ease, first the ones to the side, then her own. It earned a sigh of relief, but she knew that she couldn't stop. Not now, when they might still be in danger. Who knew where else the shadows were lurking in this twisted place.

So she ran on, headed towards safety as best she could. But while she was safe, others weren't, and it wasn't hard to hear the sounds, and see the carnage as the girl near her was bit into, even though she was saved by the girl who moved like lightning. The creature remained, and the girl yelled back to them, words which she seized upon and held to like gospel for now. In this situation, she had no reason to ignore what she was saying, and so she didn't.

"Are you alright?!?" she called, rushing over to the injured girl, and helping her to her feet on the side of her body that was uninjured. "Here, let me help you." With that said she would do her best to help her forward, towards the direction that she assumed was the west. Now she could only pray that they could get out in time.

Holly couldn't help but stop as the strange girl suddenly appeared behind her, spinning in the air. She couldn't help but what in awe as she destroyed the shadows that had been chasing Holly. Wow. That was amazing... How had she moved so fast and gotten rid of those creatures? What would have happened if she hadn't appeared? Holly didn't want to think about that.

She froze again at the words called by the seemingly magical girl. After a moment she ran over to the girl on the ground. Someone had already helped her up but Holly still rushed to her side. She went around to the other side of the girl to also help. She didn't say anything, however, the fear of the shadows combining with her fear of socialisation. There was no way she could talk to these strangers.

However she helped with supporting the injured girl as they moved in a direction west, walking as quickly as she could.

Ingrid had looked over at the other girls for a second, before hearing the spear wielding girl tell them to head off west, she looked back at everyone for a second before running forward. At this point her feet were on the verge of breaking down, she wasn't necessarily that athletic due to her past condition, but she used her remaining energy to run as fast as she possibly could. She looked back at the spear girl fighting the shadow beings, Ingrid knew that she was going to look up to this girl, even if she lived or died. She won't forget the memory of being saved by this girl.

Ingrid then looked back forward, she knew that she wanted to protect people, so she started to lead the way of all the girls. She was a little bit further from the girls behind herself, so she could be on lookout for any more of those shadow creatures. She grit her teeth as she could carry her legs as fast as she could, she then looked up ahead to see people in outfits just like the previous girl. Are we truly saved from these creatures? Ingrid had thought to herself.

The girl in azure sighed. That was one problem out of the way. Now time to deal with this one. She bent her knees and her hands touched the ground, ready to fight for her life. She only hoped that those girls got away safely. With a fierce yell, she charged towards the shadow in front of her.

The girls had been moving for a few minutes, and so far, nothing had happened. It was as if all the excitement and terror earlier had been nothing but a very blur, a false memory created from nothing. Yet the twisted background remained as testament that you were not imagining things. This experience was very, very real. Worse still, the blood from Sasha's wound did not ease up, and was steadily trickling down her sides. Already, her skin had become paler as she lost more and more blood, and it would soon reach the point where it would be difficult for Sasha to retain full consciousness.

More time passed still, and so far, there were no other persons in sight. All that surrounded them were decaying brown hills and more of the black, twisted trees. Just when the silence had stretched into a quarter hour a chorus of moans echoed through the air. From behind the hills sailed a group of five shadows, much like the ones before. Only there was a kind of frenzy in their wails that was not present in the voices of those that came earlier; these shades sounded so much more desperate, starving even. And the they came after the one that came into their sights first: Ingrid.

The ambush came swiftly, as they dove straight towards Ingrid, scrambling over each other to reach her first. So quick was their strike that there was scarce any time to react to it, and as a result, one of the shades tore off a chunk of Ingrids chest. A fatal wound, undoubtedly. The shades flew over Ingrid, tearing each other to pieces over Ingrid's ruptured flesh, and as the argument grew heated, the body of one of the shades fell down in front of her, landing on the ground with a wet squelch.

Suddenly, a panicked and distressed voice rang out in the minds of all the girls gathered: "If you want to live eat the remains of the shade in front of you! HURRY!"

The shades arguing over Ingrids meat had quickly divided it among them and devoured it, and now, with no meal at hand, they turned to the nearest source where they could get it. Their dark, faceless heads twisted unnaturally, facing Ingrid and the rest of the girls of the group.

Ingrid had continued to keep on a lookout as she ran for what seemed like forever, making sure that the girl bleeding was going to be okay. She had looked back occasionally, but after looking back forward one time, she felt a large pain in her chest. What...? This pain... Ingrid had thought to herself in her head, before falling over forwards to hit the hard ground. Ingrid's conscious was starting to go due to all of the pain that she was currently in, she then looked forwards to see the shades scavenging over something. Ingrid looked a little more forward to see what they were actually fighting over.

Meat...? They're fighting over meat...? Ingrid had thought before she had looked down to where her pain was coming from, she realized that a huge chuck of her chest had been ripped out. Ingrid's eyes immediately went wide in horror, before looking back over to the shades eating what seemed to be meat. "N-No...!" Ingrid had yelled out in horror, before seeing one drop down on the ground in front of herself. Ingrid had started to get a voice in her head at that moment, telling her to eat this shade so she could live.

Ingrid was a little grossed out by what she was about to do, but she had to do it to survive apparently? Ingrid had reached over to the shade in front of her, trying to even pick up a single piece from the pain that she was currently in. Ingrid managed to pick one up and bring it towards her mouth, and then she started to eat it, Ingrid hated the taste, but she knew that it had to be done.

What's done must be done, to live.

Genevieve stumbled along, hauling the girl that she had picked up as she moved forward. "Thank you," she said with a respectful nod of her head to the other girl who moved to assist her, supporting the other side of the injured girl as they moved along. In a situation like this speed was of the essence, and anything that got them further away from the ongoing fight and those strange things would be for the best. At the moment, that was all she could focus on.

She had to focus, one step at a time as her breath rushed out in deep panting. She could feel the girl fading, as her feet dragged and she seemed to weigh heavier, yet the Frenchman could only carry on. Even now it seemed more and more like a dream, only for the burden that she was carrying to serve as a sobering reminder, beyond the environment that surrounded them.

"This can't be happening," she muttered to herself, focusing lest the panic overwhelmed her. "This can't be real. There's no way." Yet those words held no comfort, and she could recognize how empty they were. This was far, far too real. "What kind of twisted place is this?"

Then there was no more time to talk, as those shadows returned with a vengeance. "Watch out!" Genevieve cried out as they struck, but it was too late as one of the other girls was injured, just like the one she was carrying. Her body trembled as she came to a halt, eyes wide at the horrifying display, far too much for the young heiress. It was all she could do to notice as one of the shades hit the ground nearby.

She was unprepared as the voice rang in her head, directing her and telling her what to do. "O-Okay," she said hesitantly, falling back once more on obedience to authority to cope with the trauma of what was happening. She would lead the unnamed girl that she was supporting over to it before dropping to her knees, eyeing the mangled body even as the other injured girl began to eat it. She gave it a disgusted look, hardly thrilled by the proposition of eating the creature. What was it anyway? How could they know that it was face? The lack of information was torture, especially to her.

Genevieve gulped, marshaling her will as she reached down, applying all her strength to rip a bit of the beast off. She examined it for a moment before bracing herself, opening wide and taking the plunge. It tasted disgusting as it hit her tongue, nonetheless she chewed, trying to get it over with as rapidly as possible. Whatever this was supposed to do, she hoped that it worked. Otherwise, she wouldn't be long for this world. Not at this rate.

Holly just nodded slightly in response to the other girl supporting the injured one, but didn't make eye contact. Being surrounded by strangers only made this situation all the more terrifying as they tried to move as fast as they could while supporting something.

Her eyes had been fixed on the ground as yet more shadows returned. She glanced up in time to see another girl injured. Holly let out a slightly shocked cry, yet she somehow manage to not drop the girl she was helping to support but stopped moving. What was this? Why was she in this place? It wasn't like she had done anything wrong. She didn't understand what these shadows were.

She only froze more at the voice in her mind. She must be going mad. There was no way she could hear those sort of things nor would she eat that creature. Yet the injured girl had begun to eat the very creature Holly had been told to also eat from. She was forced to move forward as the other one supporting the first injured girl did.

She stared at the creature's body as long as she felt she could before kneeling down in front of it. She reached out to take a small piece of the shadow, though it took a while to get it, and raised it to her lips. In another few moments she had eaten it and immediately felt sick.

At least it was distracting her from the things that were about to kill them all.

Agony. Sasha never could've imagined such pain in her lifetime, and while she was trying to focus on keeping herself awake, only found further suffering through the clammy numbness of her skin as she began to lose heat. The sweats that formed all over her body, trickling downwards as her body tried desperately to even out what was going on. The gashes on her side, even as she was being propped up and moved by the other girls, tore slightly every time she moved and only further accentuated just how deep they were.

Upon being supported and moved along by the other girls, Sasha attempted to reply with a word of thanks, but was really only able to sort of half-speak, half gargle. The taste of iron was very prominent in her mouth. The fact that only some time ago, she could barely tell how long, she was just living her life. Was this punishment? No other way that this could come about.

When the voice rang out in her voice, masking her thoughts and getting across the message quite clearly. Unfortunately, right after the helpful information that was essentially thrust directly into their laps, another girl was injured drastically. The beasts fumbled with each other over the flesh like starving animals, which unsettled Sasha deep to her core.

The girls lightly set Sasha onto the ground next to the shade's corpse, as they poked and prodded the beast before finally consuming part of its flesh. Sasha's hand aggressively shook as she reached out for the mass of flesh and she was only barely able to pull a piece of flesh from the corpse to her mouth. It would seem that she could barely chew at this point, so she decided to forgo the chewing entirely and desperately attempted to swallow it whole.

Further away a group of four girls ran as quickly as they could. Among the girls, one had 'seen' the danger of the group ahead of them. There was no way that they could reach them in time, no matter how much they made haste, there was no way for them to make it in time. So, much to their chagrin, they only had one option left. A last ditch, desperate action that they would have never had considered otherwise.

"So did they . . . ?"

"Yes."

"Tch, dammit."

Pain coursed through your body, a pain unlike anything you've ever experienced. It was as though a fire had come alive inside your body, spreading through it, reducing your nerves to ashes. Beyond the pain, however, was a burgeoning sense of power. The fire was a baptism; a rebirth. It scorched through your humanity, breaking you down, until finally, all that was left was the smoldering wreck of the 'girl' you once were; from those ashes, another 'creature' was born. This creature held your face, had your name, and all your memories, but it was so much greater. You could feel the power of this creature the strength in its limbs, and the fire that consumed 'you' had turned into life for it.

It was only when you rose to your feet and flexed your limbs that you realized, this creature was you.

The injured girls wounds rapidly closed up, and soon, it was as if they were never injured at all. The shadows that attacked them now screamed and hissed, but refused to approach the girls. Slowly but surely, they began backing away. One look at them, and it was apparent; if you tried, you could tear them apart with your bare hands. No, you wanted to tear them apart. To rip them limb-from-limb, to exercise your power over them, to feel your new power at work. Moreover, you felt the girls around you were much the same, and felt the threat from them. A snarl bubbled up and you turned to the girl closest to you, on guard and ready to defend yourself against the greatest threat to you right now. The shades could do nothing to you.

For a moment there was nothing to Genevieve, just the foul taste of the...thing, on her tongue. She didn't know how this would save her, or if she had merely been tricked before her life would be drawn to an abrupt and brutally violent end. This was not how she had imagined things going, had always imagined things going in her sleep surrounded by her loved ones, not this twisted place.

"Krrt!" Then it hit her, swelling inside as a nauseating sensation inside her stomach, causing her to grit her teeth and double over. Her arms wrapped around her stomach at the same time, a grimace painted across her features. What, what was this? She couldn't pay attention to anyone else with her, not when she was being subjected to these strange feelings. There was only cause, and shew could only wonder what that disgusting meat was doing.

The fire hit her like a sack of bricks, Genevieve practically collapsing as tears dripped from her eyes. Her muscles felt like they were on fire, burning and ripping under the strain. Every moment was agony, a pain unlike any that she had experienced before. "Gaaahhh!" The cry tore free of its own volition, a pale expression of the sheer agony that she was in. Rather than being doubled over she merely crumpled to the ground, body heaving and shuddering without an end in sight.

'Mother, father, I'm sorry,' she whispered in her head, a silent plea to the painful oblivion that surrounded her. She didn't know why she was here, in this purgatory and hell. She had done what she was told, been respectful and dutiful to her parents. Her life had been focused on the eventual place that she would take in the business. Was this the punishment she had earned for wondering if there was more in life?

Then she felt it, another strange feeling welling up inside it. It was....weird, heady, almost enough to make her giddy with delight as the empty void left by the fire was filled once more. It made her feel different, yet she didn't know what that was. But she was feeling things that were different, not normal.

At last Genevieve was able to stagger back to her feet, her face split into a feral grin. She felt strong, powerful, better, like she could take on an entire army and win. Some part of her know that something was wrong, that she was being irrational, but she didn't care at all. From the sheer terror of being here, now she felt better than she had ever been. It was amazing!

Her gaze swept the area, sliding over the strange beings as she grinned. Where once there had been mind numbing fear now there was a bestial eagerness. She wanted to attack, to rip them to shreds and show them how she had felt. They seemed to recognize that and fled, lest Genevieve do unto them what they had done unto her. Good, they had better run.

With the shades fled, she naturally gravitated to the others with her, who seemed much like she was now. Even the injured girls had been healed. She didn't know how, she just knew. And that worried her, earning a growl as she took a step back. Her hands clenched, ready to attack or defend herself if need be. She was ready to face it, whatever happened next. That much she knew for certain.

The instance that she had begun eating the creating Holly had felt the overwhelming urge to throw up. As she retched slightly, trying to keep down the horrible meat, she shuffled slightly away from the other girls. Whether it was because of her shyness or the strange thoughts that were beginning to crowd her mind she did not know.

The pain was horrible, and she automatically bent over as it washed through her body. Was this what dying felt like? Was what she had just eaten killing her? She didn't want to die... not here, not soon. Not in a strange place surrounded by other people.

Then it was gone. Holly felt powerful, realising that she could destroy the shades that had seemed threatening not so long ago. They couldn't do anything to her. She felt a certain glee as they ran away, though also disappointed that she hadn't been given the chance to exercise this new found strength.

Though she may get a chance to. The other girls around her, the ones she had already been afraid of, seemed to have changed to. They were like her. A threat. She took another few steps back, gaze a mix of calculating and bestial as she looked at the others. Could she take them if they attacked? She had an urge to attack first... To get the upper hand. But she would wait.

Ingrid was lying on her back as she looked up at the surroundings, a small piece of the shade was at the side of her mouth, while her hands were stained with what she had just grabbed. Ingrid thought that she would just heal up like in some video game, but something worse happened to her. She started to be engulfed in pain. Ingrid grit her teeth as she sat up in reflex, her hands at her side were shaking rapidly as pain was clearly on her face. Ingrid no longer thought about the wound that was at her chest, the burning pain erupting from inside of her was all that was on her mind. Ingrid then went on her knees as she breathed heavily, hearing the other girls around her experiencing the same judgement as her. She continued to squeal in pain even at the tiniest bursts of pain, but then her eyes opened wide, as her squeals of pain came to a stop.

"Power... I feel power!"

The pain resided within Ingrid from her wound, but at that point it become apart of her, it would eventually just be a nuisance. Ingrid then pushed herself up from the ground, getting to her feet, she looked down at the hand in front of her and closed it. Ingrid started to grin as her hair had covered her face slightly, she looked to the shades that were hissing and screaming as a grin had formed on her face. Ingrid put a hand to her chest to see that the wound had healed up faster than she had predicted, which made her eager to test out this new power inside of her. She put her hand back down as a chuckle was heard from Ingrid, she then ran towards the shades in front of her, watching all of them scatter off into different directions.

"Got you."

She had successfully grabbed one of them, watching them squirm in her hands made her want to kill. A louder chuckle was heard this time, as she spread her hands into opposite directions, ripping the shade in half, and so on. Ingrid had ripped the shade practically to shreds, except she spared one part, holding it in her right hand. "This is the power, this is the power that I have yearned for! Now... give me more!! Even more!!" Ingrid had started to laugh as she ate yet another part of the monster.

But the problem was... would her body be able to handle all of this power?
