It isn't quite to scale, nor is it exact, but it gives you an idea of the general layout.

This certainly helps a lot! Before I kinda made it up as I went because I can not understand directions to save my life. Now I can figure out which room Nyx took. (Probably the one closest to the kitchen)

The kitchen actually ended up being much bigger than I intended; so much so that there's probably room for a full kitchen there rather than just a small kitchenette. >.> Still, since it's a military ship and we get our meals for free, then the Mess Hall still makes the most sense. xD

I love that there's already some friction between Nyx and Erien, espcially since Nyx doesn't really care or understand military ranks or how it works.

I like that she has a level of disinterest in it, but to become a flying member of DefCom, she'd have to have passed through the Academy, and would have to have at least some experience with it.
Still, she'll soon get an understanding of it the hard way if it ends up being a problem...!

Then I'll make doubly sure it's more disinterest than ignorance. I kinda figured she knew about the ranks anyway, since she'd been on a ship before.
Also, that depends on the problem. To Nyx, respect either equals fear or that it has been earned. Naturally it'll happen. In time.

Yeah - for Erien, it'll be a case of learning how Nyx sees things, and once she has some understanding of that, showing her that's not the way it is in DefCom; at least as far as fear goes anyway. There's certainly some respect involved.
And for Nyx I guess it'll be part of that too, learning how it's different from what she's used to.

Well, the central conflict of Gurjan's intended character arc are his compulsions driving him to be extremely by the book. I think that alone is probably going to cause some friction.

Nice. I feel like they could learn from each other, and plus it would be great because it could also be a plot point for one or the other to try and spite the other just because.
