“Well, if you like,” the cook said to Lady Violetta. “Well, you heard the Lady. Go one Elizabeth.”

And Elizabeth did indeed leave the kitchen, and went with Lady Violetta. She had told her to remove all the things which might have been harmful to a child. Yet Elizabeth was quite annoyed, as she was given the inane task of removing all things which a child might be able to harm themselves with. Yet in spite of her hatred of the task, Violetta still did it, as now was not the time for Elizabeth to stress her willingness to be disobedient. She would have preferred, however, for Lady Violetta to show her a bit more respect, yet she was also aware that such a change in attitude from the Headmistress would never occur.

Lady Violetta then later approached her again, this time holding a large box of toys with her.

“Very well, Lady Violetta,” Elizabeth said. “Although I’m not quite sure what your focus on toys is. If I were to complain, I would comment that this is a refugee crisis and not a funhouse, but you shall never here such a complaint uttered from these lips.”

"I have a very moody cat right now, but other than that, I'm doing well. I hope you are too," Ayaka replied, which got her a glare from Dusk. "What? It's true. You're in a bad mood right now," was all she could say to the cat at the moment. She made note that Lady Violetta was going to have a meeting with the students before dinner. It made sense, that she would have to adjust the schedule a bit given what was going on.

"Well, cats will be cats and there is no doubting that. I am surviving the crisis. Now I must go. I'll send a M-mail when to come or the time. Don't forget to eat and tell Mystique the same if you see her." Lady Violetta chucked then left.

She went upstairs and got another box of toys to take to Elizabeth. She needed a simple talk with her and showing her that even she could place toys about a room.

"I am back with more toys, Elizabeth." she spoke as she came into the room.
"I really don't have the time for a full fledged lecture but here is the basics of the lecture I would give you if I had the time to give you one.

I am more than a teacher and Headmistress here. I am also the mayor of the village, overseer of the crops and animals, the head of the hospital, education board for the children and more. I rarely sleep because I have so many hats to wear. I must oversee most things because I have very few talented people. Cook is good at cooking but he does not have a good PR with people.

Titus is good with animals but lousy with people, good with carving wood. He is not good at keeping his books straight so I help him. Dewey can't stand animals but is excellent with wand making and keeps his accounts very well. He can even make his own polish and such for the wands. I only have to check on him from to to time. Adam has a special way with people and food plus he is most excellent with accounts.
As you can see or so I hope, I am very busy person with no personal time for myself. I don't even dare to take a pet because I do not have time to take care of it's needs.

All that I am asking of you students is to simply follow my directives and support my efforts during this crisis. I don't want to turn into a Royal B but I can do so if that is what it takes to get you motivated enough to do as you are told. And yes, I know that Cook is a true pain in the Arse but he does get my menus on the table.

There... all of these toys are out." Lady Violetta spoke calmly yet somewhat distant.

"Do you have any specific questions to ask me? And remember that the Academy is Sentient and I hear the complaints from it as well. Part of my work description just like making do with what staff I have."

Mystique didn't find Ayaka or Elizabeth in their rooms- at least they didn't answer when she knocked on their doors so she went up to where the refugees were. She saw Ayaka and hurries over to her and asks
"Have you seen Titus lately? I need to get some supplies from him."

Ayaka that cats will be cats. After all, she'd be worried if Dusk weren't moody from time to time. She had to remember to check her M-mail in a little bit to know what time the meeting was. After Lady Violetta left, Ayaka stayed around and watched Rikami happily playing with the kids. Eventually, Mystique showed up asking about Titus. "The last time I saw him was just before we moved his animals to the sub basement. Wonder where he might be now though."

[Aisling]

"I haven't seen Elizabeth either. Where did she get placed? I wanted to see that pink elephant again." Mystique asked.
"I'll call Titus and get my stuff sent to the room. I should check on the dragon. Oh yeah, Fiona might be pregnant and I have no idea what to do with eggs.

"I have yet to see Elizabeth as well. Knowing Lady Violetta though, she was assigned to do something. Wow Fiona might be pregnant? Sounds like you have your hands full right now. Hope you can get a hold of Titus. Also, I'm kind of hungry right now..." Ayaka wondered if the food was even ready yet. Not only that, but her pets also needed to be fed, though a certain frost wolf seemed to be having too much fun to realize he's hungry.

[Aisling]

"I am gonna head to my room and call Titus. Why not call Lady Violetta or Dar? Ask them what the plans are at this moment. Are you interested in that Griffon? I am not. I can't deal with his attitude right now." Mystique suggested.

Titus had the cart filled with supplies for the Night Glo Dragon. He left a sulky Griffon downstairs. He heard noises in the Student Lounge. He went over there and saw Lady Violetta and Elizabeth in a discussion.
He waited for a break in the discussion.

"Not sure I want another creature to take care of at the moment. Besides I already have a cat who tends to be moody at times." Of course, that last comment got a glare from Dusk again. "No idea why you give me that look. You know it's true," Ayaka said to the cat. "Oh Lady Violetta said there'll be a student meeting before dinner because she's adjusting the schedule. Other than that I have no idea."

[Aisling]

"I don't blame you at all. I had that feeling that she would. The Castle has had to make new floors and everything. She will need to work with all of the crisis of this Quake. I wonder why we had one...." Mystique spoke as two cats came onto the floor.

*You're presence is needed by that new dragon and those old dragons. We suggest that you go quickly. Fiona is upset.

" I need to go and see what the argument is about. Ember and Grey Lady are staying behind." Mystique spoke as she turned to leave.
"See you at dinner!!"

The two cats walked away with their tails entwined together.

"See you at dinner" Ayaka said as Mystique left to tend to a problem in her room. "Hope everything's ok." Whatever it was, she knew Mystique will figure out how to take care of it. Dusk just sat there bathing herself sense she was tired of watching Rikami being what she thought of as ridiculous.

That frost wolf is ridiculous. Dusk was saying.
Are you STILL in a bad mood? Skye commented.
What's it to you if I am?
"Don't start you two. Dusk it's ok to be in a bad mood, but please don't take it out on your friends. Skye, you antagonizing her isn't helping. Also if Rikami wasn't ridiculous, I'd be worried. He wouldn't be much of a dog if he wasn't just a little ridiculous sometimes."

“How very understanding of you,” Elizabeth said to Lady Violetta, although she was not very genuine. “So headmistress, what next? I feel an urge to do something in this most drastic of situations. How are the refugees doing?”

"I think that Ayaka has the refugees well in hand. Mystique is working with a wayward dragon. She has her hands full for the time being. And that may be where Titus would like to go and drop off his load." Lady Violetta looked towards Titus who nodded.
"Would you like to work with a Griffon?" Lady Violetta asked as she pulled out a contraption and sat it up.

[Aisling]

Titus cleared his throat ten spoke
"Not to interrupt the two of you but I do need to get these things sent to Mystique right away. Could you see that she gets these things, please, Lady?" Titus asked.

"Of course, Titus. I am calling a meeting for all students at this moment. I want to touch base with them and give them their assignments." Lady Violetta spoke as she placed a folding table out in front of them.
"We will need to start, ladies."

A messenger dragon left the drop door and headed towards where the other two girls are.

Ayaka was watching Rikami play with the kids while her other three pets took a nap when the messenger dragon arrived with Lady Violetta's message. "It would seem she's ready to start that meeting she told me about." She woke Skye up real quick to tell her what's going on. Dusk, she decided to leave alone, since she's been quite moody lately. "I'll leave Mist with you Skye. You three behave ok?"

Don't worry we will. The dragon replied.

"Behave while I'm gone Rikami!" Ayaka called to her frost wolf as she left.

“A griffon?” Elizabeth pondered.

She had no experience with such things. Nonetheless, the greatest of all beasts, the mighty dragon, had come to her in the form of her great friend and companion Uriel, who had expressed his loyalty well. If she could handle a dragon, then surely she could handle a mere Griffon, of which Elizabeth was certain their maximum size was smaller than that of a dragon’s.

“Very well, Lady Violetta,” Elizabeth said. “I’ll go see this Griffon.”

Lady Violetta dreaded this meeting for she had a feeling that Elizabeth will not want to give up
her present attitude. Perhaps it would go better than what she thinks that it will. Once everyone was there in the student's lounge, she began the meeting.

"As you can see around us, this will be a meeting with food. I feel that there is enough people settled in that we can take this time to set up a basic plan of life for the next several months. Everyone please help yourself to breakfast as I speak.

I want to point out that we are very fortunate to have all of our own belongings while these refugees have lost everything that they own. They will need to have all of their belongings replaced and today is the day that I will begin to replace what I can. Here is a quick run down on what supplies that WE will be giving to the families.
I do mean WE as in the student body and staff of Caldwell's.

Some of these people do not have any Magickal Ability at all while others do have a few lower Magickal Abilities that they can use. All of them at one time or another had a Magickal Core but it was removed for reasons unknown to me. I have found that in the back of their minds, they still remember what they could have done. They could have managed to be great wizards and wizardesses.

As we give our gifts to them, I want you to think about why you are giving them these gifts. I want you to remember that our own Mind and Inner Core might one day be taken away from us. When you go through the Testing Tunnel, I do not know if you will survive or not. Only the survivors will be allowed to come out and finish the training.
You will be going through the tunnel at least twice more. Be careful when you do go through. Your Magickal Core may be taken away from you. You will be graded on not just your Academics but also on your Empathic Abilities and your own Personal Resolve. Your Attitude will be graded as well as your Ability to Lead. You will be tested on whether or not you are strong enough to be gentle, rich enough to share and whether or not you are able to encourage another person who is not able to help their own self.
In order to pass this test that has been placed before you, you will need to step back and think on what is needed in this world. You will need to be able to care for others that can not give back to you. Whether or not you pass this test, is not up to me. It is up to you to pass this test. I can only guide you today. I will make the assignments and you will make sure that each part of the assignment is done.

On top of it all, you will be working on your own class work. I will give you your assignment on Monday for the week. You will be responsible for getting the help that you need. This will start next week. I will be working on the new Village and Basic Magic School. I will not be available to you at all times. You will need to figure out how to get your tasks done. Dar, Titus and Adam will be able to assist you as well.
Are there any questions so far?” Lady Violetta asked the small group.

" Elizabeth, let me check over your personal duties. You have three creatures under your care if I have my books accurate. Hesiod is your Arcane Hound. Uriel is your Dragon. Elephantas Minor is your pet from the Testing. I think that you can handle Griffon. You will receive your new book in your PLTs by morning.

Mystique, you have Fire Cat named Ember, 2 Ancient One; Water Dragon Fiona and Damion, Raicho named Thor, Minochay Cat named Lady Smoke. The Night Glo Dragon trusts you...

Ayaka has a Frost Wolf named Rikami and a Shadow Cat named Dusk.... you have also Air Riding Dragon named Skye. Any other creatures?" Lady Violetta spoke as she typed in her PLTs.

Ayaka listened carefully, as Lady Violetta listed off her pets. She imagined there was a good reason why the headmistress was seeing how many creatures each of them had. "I have one other. The baby Raicho I got from testing, which I've named Mist."

[Aisling]

"Mist- a baby Raicho." Lady Violetta typed into the PLTs.

"I'll make a list of what classes you will need to finish on your own.
Next we need to make sure that all of the people are taken care of. We need the names and ages of everyone. If they are adults, their mates name and what children they have. I'd like to get all of the families together. I will make a floor just for the families. There will be places where the children can play and go to school. Each family will need the basic clothes and a toy or two for the children.

The same will go for the singles on the singles floor. There will be a meeting held so that everyone will know what is going on.

Elizabeth did a fine job on arranging the toys in the student lounge. Those toys are fit for ages three to six. We will need to make more rooms like that. One for infants, 1 and two year olds, 7 to 9 year olds. Is there a volunteer to organize the rest of the toys? We will use the dining room for this purpose after lunch.

I want someone to organize the board games and someone to organize activities for children.
You may use any of the adults to get these things accomplished.

While you students are organizing the toys and games, I will start on making the floors. I know that the rooms are crowded but at least we are safe from the Quakes.

After lunch, we will open the clothes closet. Each person will be allowed to have 6 complete outfits. I will inform each group as they go through what they may have. The room will be sentient and will allow only what they are allowed.Any questions?" Lady Violetta spoke as she typed.

Yet more moralizing! She must surrender to these agendas, or she would be stripped of her powers, of which was her birthright. Was independence of thought such a crime that at warranted barrenness? It seemed as though the Creator had an ethical code which she held dear, and those with incompatible philosophies would be stripped of all magical prowess.

Elizabeth would not allow it to bother her too much, as it would prove that their philosophies were not too separate incidentally. Offering gentleness was a weakness, and Elizabeth was strong enough to allow it. On her richness, it was much the same, although she might be lacking if richness was meant literally. As for encouraging another person, her magnanimity would allow that. She was certain she would succeed, for she was confident in her own abilities and her ability to lead.

“I think I understand it all, Lady Violetta,” Elizabeth said. “I’m ready for whatever will be thrown at me.”
