I really wanna get a stat based game going again and I'm glad to see them get their own forum along with the dice rollers. My stat system is fairly simple, and most of the stats just limit you to what you can do in-battle as far as how many attacks you can have per post [Speed], how strong they are [Strength], what different attacks [Attack], how many defensive moves you can have per battle and what they are [Defense], and then of course there's an IQ stat and a health stat. Characters would begin with level 1 stats [16 stat points] and gain another level/stat point for every 5 posts in-game. A signature move is awarded at Level 3 and is worth double damage or double defense. A signature defense is the only defense for a signature attack and the only defensive move you can use for another player. If I can get a team of around 7 or so to get in on this I think we can make it work and keep it interesting. Oh yeah, here's the informative interest check for the Legion I almost just posted in Casual before seeing this....



In the 30th century, the galaxy is a crowded place. There are thousands of inhabited worlds and intelligent species, and very few of them get along with each other. Still, there are those who believe that a united galaxy is the best solution for everybody. One of those is R.J. Brande, one of the richest men in the galaxy. He pushed for a United Planets organization to handle conflicts between systems, and while he had some support, he also had a lot of resistance. There were some who opposed him so strongly that they wished him dead. One of these assassination attempts was in the presence of three teenagers, strangers to each other. The three youths worked together instantly, foiling the assassination and capturing the suspects. Brande saw in them the embodiment of all he had been working towards, and convinced them to follow in the footsteps of the great heroes of the 20th century. They wore costumes and used code names and became the Legion of Super-Heroes. But recently the genius of their group, Brainiac 5, turned traitor and snapped like the other Brainiacs before him who often fought with Superman in the past. His robotic side took over completely and he tried to destroy the Legion. Only three of them remain to rise from the ashes with a new team of heroes to stop Brainiac 5.

The Legion has always been a fun concept but something I think is missing from the comics is that old flair of seeing a new hero or heroine. So we'll take the basic concept of three individuals remaining after Brainiac turns rogue and the three will remake the Legion. Starting weeks after the end of the team, the Legion's benefactor re-started the Legion Academy and issued Legion flight/universal translator rings to several new young heroes training to be protectors of the United Planets. We're still based in 30th Century Metropolis, aliens are everywhere.

The idea for this game is to recreate the Legion using whatever past material you wish for inspiration. Character Sheets should be sent to me via PM and approved before being posted here or in the OOC. Character Sheets must include but are not limited to:

Like I said before, if we can get 7 people down for this we'll get an OOC going and we'll get into the stats and such. Again, nothing complicated at all. I noticed Knighthawk was around this forum so he's been in a few of them and can vouch for me LOL. If this one can get off the ground I may drop another RP and do another based on the GLC.

If I may suggest, just to be different from the last attempts, what if you offer a signature to start? The reason I suggest this is that each member of the legion has a signature already, that is what makes them legion material and these three are already legionnaires so they have some weight under their belts to start. Off the top of my head Matter Eater Lad could penetrate any physical defense with one bite, that seems like your special attack and that was his opening ability for his race.

Any special uses of their abilities though were learned over time. I wouldn't want to give somebody with fire powers a nova blast right out of the gate. We're joining as members of the Legion Academy, after a few posts we can become full fledged Legionnaires and get the signature move.

Still debating which three to go with, Cosmic Boy for one though for sure...

Powers - Carggite ability to split into three individuals was altered after being struck by lightning, now he can become six individuals with super speed that decreases with each duplicate. The original can reach the speed of sound [767 mph], decreasing with each duplicate to give each less speed than the last.

Weaknesses - Each duplicate is slower than the last. Each 6Speed wears light running/battle armor and is capable of protecting from low grade attacks but the more powerful they are the more they hurt him. He's not super durable, however he does heal faster than most. And he can be tripped up as easy as anyone.

Personality - hyper, compassionate, humorous

BRIEF Bio - Duron was raised like so many other teens on Cargg that could become three individuals. He excelled in writing and language while in school and was on the running team. When a freak lightning storm rained over Cargg for two days, Duron was struck by lightning and his alien power evolved. Upon hearing about the decimation of the Legion by one of their own, Duron made his way to Earth to join the Legion. He felt it was one of the only places a power like his would be useful. Even when he could split into three individuals he felt alone, he didn't want the same feeling just doubled on Cargg.

Notes - He comes from the homeworld of Triplicate Girl/Duplicate Girl.

Powers - ability to transmute and shape her body into any element or compound
Weaknesses - When not already shifting, her body is the same as any normal human. The more solid and in human form she is, the more likely she is to get hurt or killed.
Personality - Blunt, Unwavering, Spontaneous
BRIEF Bio - Xalandra grew up on the pacifist planet but was more blunt and to the point when it game to certain matters. Most of the others on her planet were the average pacifist types, Xal had a bit of a wildstreak and it manifested in her powers being physical in nature and transmuting herself rather than what she was touching or blasting.
Notes - Xal dislikes structure and does have minor problems with authority but if appealed to she'll get the job done, she also enjoys chocolate. Her hair constantly changes colors.

Tori stands at 5'9 and weighing in at 118lbs with Green eyes, Red hair and Golden skin.

Powers - Energy projection, Superhuman Strength and Durability.
Personality - Free Spirited, optimistic, Honest.
Brief Bio - Toriand'r did not have the most easiest of life's on Tamaran and although born to a loving family things were made all the more tougher when she suffered from a childhood Illness that robbed her of the ability to fly. The inability of the use of flight like the others in her race made her feel a little outcast as she did not have as many privilages as others. Despite the hardships and in Tamaran's warlike custom, was sent for warrior training with the Warlords of Okaara. After many years of hard work and training pushing hard to prove herself, Tori unknowngly from the help of her family caught wind of a recruitment opportunities at Legion and headed for the planet earth thus leaving Tamaran for the first time.

Notes - Due to her Tamaranean Physiology, Toriand'r has green eyes, Golden skin and Red hair. Like all Tamaraneans, Her body constantly absorbs ultraviolet radiation and is able to convert it to energy for her energy projection which sometimes act's beyond her control for example such as releasing explosive bright green energy blasts when she sneezes, or her strength accidentally bending a street light.

Tori is regarded as very physically attractive, But she displays the traits of Tamaran's highly sensuous honest and emotional culture, While she can get a little hot tempered, Tori has a no nonsense warrior attitude with a gentle innocence, wild sexuality but takes friendship seriously and is easily distressed when others, especially her best friends, argue or fight. She can absorb knowledge of basic spoken tongues and languages through lip contact with another person. She is proficient in armed and unarmed combat, having been trained from a young age.

Here's a breakdown of the stats and leveling up system....

The stats for this game will include:

I.Q. - (how strong your characters are mentally, for example Brainiac would have a pretty high I.Q. where a rookie's would be less. Average human/alien would be 2.)

Strength - (1-5 has -1 damage, 6-10 has -2 damage) Average human strength would be set at 2, only characters with heightened or super strength should increase higher! EDIT: However, one could view your strength as the strength of your attacks!

Speed - (1-3 has 3 attacks per post, 4-7 has 4 attacks available, 8-10 has 5 attacks)

Attack - (number of attacks) Each player will have melee attacks that are not included on your attack stat including basic punches and kicks and alien tail swipes or bites. Attack is for things like heat vision, throw, generic super speed attack, etc...

Defense - (number of defense moves, each can be used twice per battle. If your defense is 2 and the battle lasts 4 posts you can use 4 defense moves. If the battle rages on for 7 posts you are still limited to only 4 defensive moves total in that case. Defense can't block a signature attack!)

Health - (IQ+strength+speed+defense)

*Signature moves awarded at Level 3 do double damage. The attack itself should include your alien ability. The only defense against a signature attack is a signature defense that can also be a move based on your alien ability. Signature Defense is also the only defense you can use to help another player directly in-game from an enemy attack be it a regular attack or signature attack! At the moment you can only have one or the other, Signature Attack or Signature Defense.

Now... that's not a lot of info at all really. As far as stats go, I know once you have 6 points on strength some of you might ask "what's the point of having strength or speed any higher?" and the simple answer is writing limitations. If a character like Superman has 6 strength and a God like Zeus walks by with a strength of 8, in the context of the story Zeus would of course be viewed as stronger. Same thing applies for speed.

Power Class - you earn a stat point/level for every 5 posts in-character.

Level 1 - 16 points - 1-5 posts
Level 2 - 17 points - 6-10 posts
Level 3 - 18 points (plus signature attack or defense!) - 11-15 posts
Level 4 - 19 points - 16-20 posts
Level 5 - 20 points - 21-25 posts
Level 6 - 21 points - 26-30 posts
Level 7 - 22 points - 31-35 posts
Level 8 - 23 points - 36-40 posts
Level 9 - 24 points - 41-45 posts
Level 10 - 25 points 46-50 posts

If the game lasts long enough, and it might, we'll go beyond Level 10 and probably continue on to Level 15. Boss stats will be Level 15 to Level 20 with stats between 30-35 points making a team effort to defeat the enemy a must.

Name - Koschei

Appearance -
not particularly tall but rather thickly built Koschei has little that seems out of place save for his prematurely gray hair which is odd considering how young he is. His body is covered in a myriad of scars ranging from cuts to burns and several that defy classification.

Powers - Drastically heightened pain tolerence, Transferal of wounds, Regeneration

Weaknesses - Because of his past and powers Koschei has a rather fatalistic view of others seeing them as walking fountains of suffering and as such is loathe to form anything resembling a relationship with others.

Personality - Reserved, Grim, Pessimistic

BRIEF Bio -
Koschei is the result of an attempt to create an individual who can absorb the pain of his allies and so keep a unit at fighting effectiveness despite wounds. His creators engineered him to be incredibly resilient and to have a greatly accelerated ability to heal himself. Exactly how his powers work is a mystery to him as the lab he was kept in was destroyed in an attempted raid by an insurgent group who sought to use Koschei as a weapon. They instead found him less than willing to be recruited and instead fled to the Legion to escape his pursuers.

Notes - While Koschei is a distant at best person he has an imprinted psychological desire to protect people around him and in combat does not hesitate to weather blows meant for his allies.

Appearance -

Despite what his powers entitle Kodol typically looks quite fit and handsome. Around six feet even tall and normally only weighing around 150 pounds. He has long blond hair that reaches his shoulders and his suit is a sleeveless blue piece that has black and white trim with blue tinted goggles.
Age - 16
Powers - Bulk Lad under the right conditions has superhuman strength and endurance. However to gain said ability Bulk Lad has to consume food in order to gain weight. He gains weight much more rapidly than any other kind of species and the larger he is the stronger he is. His body also distributes the weight allowing for mobility no matter how big. As the food he consumes has an effect on him of triple that any other species. His digestive system is also powerful enough to digest any non-food item he swallows without any . On top of this, a Bugan’s jaw line has a strong elasticity to it, meaning that with a moment they can unhinge their jaw, allowing for consumption of something very large.
Personality - Caring, friendly, sensitive
Weaknesses - Kodol has dealt with a lot of ridicule for his people and their unique powers. So much so it makes him upset to hear it from anyone, and he can lose focus in such situation. Naturally as Kodol becomes bigger, his speed decreases, and it is possible for a Bugan to become so big they lose mobility, but its not easily achievable. The only other problem Kodol has is his fact that he trusts people too easily.
Brief Bio - Bugans are typically ridiculed for their unique digestive systems. So often they exist mainly on their own planet, with Bugans outside of it a very rare sight. Kodol himself wanted the universe to see how great his species were. After undergoing the training on his body’s system necessary to create strength through caloric intake Kodol went to the Milky Way galaxy to join the Legion.
Notes - Typically Bugans work not unlike an Earth’s camel. Able to survive without eating much for up to a week. That said Bugans gain weight at a very rapid fashion. Though after a few hours their bodies shrink back down to a normal looking weight and slowly burn the energy. Kodol’s system is able to take all the food intake and produce strength in his muscles for it, despite the still overweight appearance it leaves him. In emergency situations Kodol carries with him a bar of food that can produce enough fat and calories to instantly balloon him up to around 350 pounds.

Also of note, Kodol happens to be a very talented cook. As is traditional with Buga residents as they consider a true mark of talent in one’s culinary skills. These very skills often get shown off in Buga village parties. Notorious for being a week long celebration with food and spirits.

Stands at 6'5 and 150 pounds.

Powers: He holds life and death in the palms of his hands. One of destruction and one of defence. He can Balance both for a 75% reduction to both. It's enough to get him by. But he can focus to one after a quick mediation and go to full power of either or. He can use a full power spell from mixed forum. But will be useles for a short time after.

Mix: Single Shield, Minor healing for minor injury. smoke screen, fireball, thunder shot. weak telekinesis, Fade shift (lets him move wthin 3 feat, or a team mate hes touching)
Max Healing: Full Party Shield, Max Healing. Time Reverse (10 seconds, renders Fate useless afterwords). Team Teleport, even without psyical connection). Soul Transfer. Enters a near death state to bring back team mate to a low health state.
Max Damage: Hell Fire, Heavens Thunder, Telekinesis, and Harmfull Blood. {His body becomes a weapon, killing him unless he can drain his target of there blood to stop it)

Weakness: His own body. In mix state he is level headed and mortal. While Max Destruction is active. He pushes him self to the limit to kill his opponent. Often wearing out his own body and become weak. While Max Healing. He puts others head of him self. Known for focusing is shields on others more them him self.

Bio: What happens when a lunatic scientist has 3 sons and wants to prove heaven and hell are real? Raise one to commit evil, another to be good and leave the third in a cell. When the boys turned 16. Two where sacrificed then brought back using horrible science. They told story's of golden gates and fire. With a smile he killed his sons and made the third drink there blood. The father then did the same to him. Holding his head underwater untill his legs stopped kicking. As he opened his eyes he saw the world above it golden light. Below it dark red flames. Two voices spoke at once to him. They saw not one man but three. As they died and he was fed there blood. Three became one.
Felix had become his brothers, feeling a burning on his hands. He raised them to watch and two marks grew on either. Opening his eyes he saw his father looking down on him. His father had done it. Proved heaven and hell existed. But Felix had his mission. To punish the wicked and help thouse in need. He has his first mission. His right hand burning he grabbed is father by the throat and watched as he began to burn. Dropping the firey courpse he destroyed the lab. Walking to find thouse who needed him.

Personality: His Max sides reflect his personality. Healing is a kind and level headed soul. While his Damage state will put himself and team mates in danger. The mix is nearly emotionless. He is never to far from a cigaret.

I always say nobody from Earth because then a half dozen would want to be. And 99% of the time their stories and power sets are so convoluted it wouldn't make sense in a six issue comic series. You could be like Superman, technically your homeworld is/was Krypton but Earth is where he lived most of his life. Some of the Legion come to Earth [often looking for a place like the Legion] after they gain powers, others have already lived here for a bit.

Probably gonna go with non-stat game cause so far only one person has been accepted into this one that isn't in the other and the non-stat game has a few returning players from the last game before the site went down. If this one gets enough people I can try and juggle both, I'll probably have to make a new character for one or the other though to keep from getting confused....
