VecIt's modern day, and the once well known hero of both humans and mutants, Charles Xavier aka Professor X, has long since passed away. It was his hope, along with that of many others, that the peace and acceptance between mutants and humans would last, even after his death. However, this was not the case. A few months after the Professor's passing, a once small and verbal protest group against mutant equality, the Equalists, turned into a violent and organized terrorist group, making themselves more public. It was only until they did a public execution of 10 innocent mutants and started posting videos online of mutants being murdered, that the public realized just how serious and dangerous the Equalists were. Recently, there have even been cases where humans that support mutant equality, have been murdered.
Rumors have been going around that the Equalists have now been capturing mutants and using them as weapons and forcing them to work for them, either by blackmail, threats, or violence. A former student of the late Professor, Francis Latour, has decided that it is finally time to take action and create his own X-MEN, like his teacher before him. For the past month, he has been scouring the globe recruiting any mutant he can. Time to get the school supplies because the first day of class for Professor Latour... starts tomorrow.
Okay! So first things first! While one of the genre's for this thread is romance, it is not the main idea, rather romance is acceptable and probably will show up as bonds will form between characters.
Now that we got that out of the way, the thread will be taking place in modern times and will start out at the institute. At first, your character will have limited to little to no control over their power. This however, is obviously not permanent as your character will learn how to control it over time. Another thing I would like to address is that if you have rped with me in the past you would already know that when it comes to plot, I am lacking and not very good at it. Thus! I will be looking for cogms immediately to help me with coming up with ideas.
If we get enough people that are interested, say at least 5 people, then I will get this thing started for reals and post a cs skeleton.
I am usually open to suggestions and opinions when it comes to lore and plot so feel free to spit ball ideas, and I will most likely update this post as I come up with more ideas for lore and such so keep your eyes peeled.
Another thing I want to bring up, thanks to the help of a lovely sassy lassy, is that I will allow only 3 older and more advanced/experienced students that have a good feel and control of their powers and will assist Professor Latour with teaching the students. These spots will be first come first serve when reserving a spot for this role.
Advanced students: 1/3 available
Also! Human characters, Equalisers, and multiple characters are indeed allowed. However, I want to keep the amount of mutants and humans as well as the amount of XMEN and Equalists pretty balanced out, if not, slightly more XMEN and mutants if possible. Therefore, I will allow up to 2-3 characters per person and I will keep track of the amount of humans, mutants, etc.
