History:
Francis was born into an era of neglect and war, just because of how he was born. Francis learned of his powers at a young age of 13, and it didn't take long for his parents to realize that their son was a mutant. His parents, being extremely religious as they were, believed that he was possessed by some sort of evil, and literally tried to beat it out of him. Thankfully, Professor X found him and took him to the institute, where he learned how to control his powers.


 Appearance:
Francis stands at 6'2" and has a slender build. He has medium length, dark, curly hair, bright blue eyes, and usually wearing a rather calm and collected expression. He tends to keep his facial hair trimmed or shaved completely, as well as keep himself fairly well groomed. As far as his attire goes, Francis tends to keep it pretty casual, wearing a simple T-shirt and jeans.


Powers:
Francis has the unique ability to phase through any solid object. Therefore he can literally walk through walls. This ability doesn't, however, work with liquids or gases. Which means that he can still drown or choke on poisonous gases.




Personality:
Despite having a bad childhood, Francis is a very kind, caring, and gentle person. He cares deeply about his students, often affectionately referring to them as his "kids" and acts as their mentor and guardian. He is smart, clever, and a natural leader that will immediately take control of a situation when things go south.

Francis, like all the rest of his students, a great deal about Grace. He is well aware of her shy disposition and makes sure to always keep an eye on her so that she doesn't stray too far away from the group or fall behind.

"She is afraid of the destruction she might cause, but that gives me all the more reason to put my complete and utter faith in her."
Francis doesn't like how Sophie is "controlling" her powers by distancing herself from others and isolating herself in her room almost always, and is constantly trying to get her to interact more with others.

♣ Jonathan Van Ronk♣
"Just give him time, he will eventually warm up to you."
Francis has known Johnny since he first joined the institute and the two have been good friends for a long time. Francis was one of the people who taught Johnny to control his powers and he now hopes that he will be able to do the same with the next generation of XMEN.

"Ah yes, according to his file, he has a unique power, indeed, and has great potential."
Francis sees great potential and usefulness in James's power, and knows that with training, James will help many people.

"He's confident in himself, perhaps too confident, but his heart is in the right place."
Francis has known Lucian for a while now and can trust that he keeps his abilities in check. He hopes that he will find some humility and become a better influence on the younger students.

"Ah, yes. I think he and Sophie will get along quite nicely and understand each other once they get to know each other. "
Francis believes that, like Sophie, William's destructive power can be used for more than just destructive purposes and that he and Sophie will be able to understand each other because their powers are so destructive. However, he has not mentioned either to them and purposefully kept their presence secret from one another.

"She's.... a rather special case."
Francis has been made aware of Christie's case and that she was a subject of the weapon x project, but has yet to see her powers in action. However, he has no plans on treating her any different than the other students and will make no special exceptions for her, either.

♣ Astrid Cable ♣
"That girl is an unpredictable one..."
Francis sometimes finds it difficult to keep up with Astrid as her powers tend to be a bit fickle in relation to her mood, yet he tries his best when staying on friendly terms with her.

♣ Raylan Wilcox ♣
"Honestly... that boy..."
Francis cares about Raylan like he is his own flesh and blood, which is probably why they tend to often clash with one another. He wishes that Raylan wouldn't be so impulsive and really think about the consequences of his choices.

♣ Robert Frost ♣
"He's a mild mannered young man with a good head on his shoulders."
Though overall Francis and Robert have a good relationship, Francis doesn't always approve of Robert's way of teaching and that causes them to clash on occasion.

History:
Sophie's abilities fire appeared at a young age of 3 years old, when she accidentally set her family's couch on fire. Having no idea how to handle this and her abilities quickly growing stronger with no sign in stopping, her parents essentially improvved her entire childhood. This was something that was often difficult to do, especially when she would get a fever or through a literal temper tantrum. 

Life outside of her family, unfortunately, wasn't as accepting or nearly as kind. Her classmates learned of her powers around the age of 6, when Sophie decided it would be a good idea to show off her powers for show and tell. She grew up being called a monster by her classmates and a devil by their parents. Nobody wanted to talk to her or even breath the same air as her. She was constantly bullied and beaten by her classmates, and was even nearly drowned by her classmates forcing her head underwater in the school pool until she fainte, during her freshman year of highschool. After that incident, she was in a coma for a little over two weeks. The school had held an assembly about the matter, but of course, the bullying didn't stop and she has a few scars left, some more faded than others, from the beatings.

Then, a few months ago, Professor Latour showed up, walked through her front door, and sat down with her parents and offered her something that they couldn't refuse; a chance. At first, Sophie was a little reluctant to attend as she had never met another mutant before, but Francis was quick to persuade her.


 Appearance:
Sophie stands at a short 5'3" with a small, thin build and has little to no curves. She has long, dark, wavy hair that goes down to her mid back and striking blue eyes.  Etched into her ivory, porcaline skin are a few small and faded scars that are the remains of the beatings she received from bullies when she was young.


Powers:
Sophie has the destructive power of being able to create and manipulate fire to her will. This ability often ties into her emotional and physical state. As a side effect of her powers, she cannot burn. However, that doesn't mean she can swim in lava either. Another side effect is that using her abilities cause her to burn up a lot of calories and put massive strain on her muscles, thus, increasing her appetite and need for sleep.




Personality:
Sophie is like fire itself, warm, kind, and gentle, yet sensative to outside forces and still has a small bite to her if you get her angry enough. She is, however, afraid of losing control of her powers and she tends to distance and isolate herself in her room in the basement of the institute, away from others as a way to "control" her powers as a result.

Extra
She has a imaginary friend named Jeffrey that takes the form of a man made of fire. Jeffrey is controlled  by her subconscious mind as a coping mechanism for her loneliness. She is unaware that her subconscious controls Jeffery.

Sophie is on friendly terms with Grace but would exactly describe her relationship with her as friends either. She admires how pretty Grace's wings are.

While Sophie loves her dad very much, she views Francis as the mutant dad she never had.

Lucian didn't leave a good first impression on her as he cancelled out her powers when using her to demonstrate his powers, and thus, has deemed him dangerous and does not like being anywhere near him.

Sophie and Will have had a rough start to put it lightly and she is aware that this is mostly her own fault and she actually regrets hurting him. She now keeps her distance from him and tries to avoid him.

Sophie stood up for her when her code name was made fun of and she thinks that Christie is a nice person.

Sophie doesn't like Astrid's personality and tries to avoid any and all confrontation with her.

"Just because we're teammates, it doesn't mean that we got to be friends."
Sophie sees Raylan as nothing more than a trouble maker and tries to avoid talking to him if she can help it.
