Throwing spears would probably suit your people better, if hunting in dense forests for big game. Pretty much any thing that falls in y'alls hands(claws?) is gonna be deadly

To be fair, slings were incredibly deadly killing machines and were only outclassed due to a bows superior range(Sike, just looked that up, they outranged bows prior to the invention of the english longbow) ease to use.

The Romans even invented a tool specifically designed for removing lead sling bullets from fallen soldiers...

Adding to this because I have a huge inexplicable attachment to slings (Damn you total war)
-Bows are easier to use in dense foliage
-Bows are much, much easier to learn how to use
-When used in formation Archers can be clumped while slingmen must be spread out, resulting in a less massed volley.
-Slings are even more physically intensive than bows.

however slings worked incredibly well against armored (or unarmored) targets

Shinnok would swerve to the side with a death grip on Ryu's arms, attempting shove his head downward very heard with his forehead against the back of Ryu's skull. The attack would make Shinnok's yanking of Ryu's arms back behind him worse, before he shoved his food VERY HARD on a downward's angle on Ryu's back. He followed up the attack with a mystical pulling force of Ryu to be seen prone in the air, followed by Shinnok conjuring a bone made scythe, which he hoped would make a fearsome strike, disembowling Hayabusa.

F) Improved resources/technology:
The people still attempted to find better ways to improve their adult's health, and rummaged through the jungle forests. As they continue to hunt for the herbs in the jungle forest, they also experiment with ways to fortify health of everyone in the tribe, attempting to domesticate plants such as fruits and vegetables, and see how strong the sinews of slain hunts are. Hopefully they would discover the use of the bow. For now all they had use of were slings, which, to be fair, were as accurate and even more powerful than other tribe's bows, due to the use of the Saurian's hard muscles. Perhaps experimenting with the hardness of animals hides, or even just wearing clothes like other tribes, lion skins, or other sorts of skins and leathers could help with preventing unwanted contact with the skin and therefore entering of the body with bacteria.

Shinnok was disclipined enough to dodge the incoming blow, but it managed to graze the Elder God, causing him noticeable bleeding, which littered the floor in the Sky Temple as the bombs temporarily blinded him, and knocked him off his feet again. Shinnok pressed his skeletal arms and hands against the floor, summoning two flying devils with talons, and disfigured faces lined with jaws, soaring at Ryu Hayabusa, intent on devouring his body. Shinnok then slapped his right skeleton hand against the Sky Temple floor, causing green balls of energy to soar towards Ryu Hayabusa, all homing in on the ninja of the Hayabusa Clan. Shinnok slowly stood up, and raised his hands in a magical gesture at Ryu Hayabusa, as a green ray of light honed in on this rival, attempting to pull him forth as all the attacks and minions were swarming at his direction.
