With it being this early in the morning, it was expected to be silent save for the nocturnal animals, or even the diurnal animals just waking up. But near the training grounds, which should have been silent at this hour, one could hear multiple rapid thuds in a row, then a few loud thumps a few moments later.

Liam was in the training grounds practicing shooting his bow at five targets at different distances and heights, then at random intervals switch to slapping some spinning practice dummies with the same bow, ducking and weaving as he dodge said dummy's arms as they spun around. Then moving to a new spot, pulling three arrows out with his draw hand, knocking one, and firing at a random target. Repeating the quick knock and fire at a random target for the last two arrows in his hand.

It was at this moment he winced at the loud voice of Master Adrissa in his head telling him to come to the masters office. He took a deep breath, and let it out slowly in effort to regain control of his breathing. While he did he looked at his targets, and while he was glad many of his shots were within the bullseye, he made sure to note how many were outside of it. Grimacing at any that did not hit the target at all. Which was a few, but that meant far more punishment later. As he forced himself with a set extra of pushups and pull ups for every one outside of the bullseye, and extra complete workouts for any missed entirely. A training method his father instilled upon him very early in his life.

Liam’s bow had a long nail just over where he gripped it, looking sort of like a simple finger guard, But Liam used it to store over his shoulder. A leather loop just over his right shoulder, attached to his bandolier. In an easy motion, he flipped his bow over his shoulder, hooking it to that loop and allowing it to hang easily off his back. He walked over to his targets and pulled each arrow out, slipping them into the quiver on his right hip.

He was far from the Masters room, far too long to walk it with how urgent it sounded, Picking up Mia, who had followed him to the training ground. He then drew out a magic circle in his mind and used a teleportation spell to appear just outside it. Allowing Mia to hop out of his arms he straightened his short sleeved black tunic and dusted off any dirt on his pants.

Once satisfied with what he could do for the moment, he walked into the room with Mia following close behind. He bowed his head to the Masters, and looked to the others, surprised to see his sister and Emrin here. As well as another man, who was clearly a soldier by how he held himself. He knew his stance well… He was most likely another student. He gave him a nod and moved over towards his sister, and Emrin.

It would look like Emrin had stayed up once again, certainly engrossed with her work. While Liah clearly woke up, knowing she would probably have never had dressed like that if she knew others besides the masters would be here. And by the looks of the seven chairs, three more were yet to come.

He nodded with a small smile towards Emrin while he reached up and scratched Rascals chin who had reached his head out towards him.

”No sleep again?” Liah asked groggily as she looked towards Liam.

Shaking his head, “I got three hours…” he said as if that was normal for him.

”And you? Let me guess 2 cups of coffee?” Liah added glancing at Emrin with a grin.

Runecrafting

With everyone knowing that Runecrafters have a smaller mana pool than the rest, Liam still has a little more than common. Often lasting much longer in battles than other runecasters. He tends to enchant/hex his arrows with simple spells and using that spell to change up his arrows flight/power/speed Etc. all to conserve as much magical power he can, while still giving himself as many options as possible. He He is known to be highly observant in the battlefield and use the environment to his advantage, often using smaller simple spells to cause larger reactions. While he does use any other magic when needed, he likes to be as efficient as he can with what limited mana he has. This is one of the reasons he tends to last much longer in battle than other Runecasters. He uses his bow as a casting aid, and his element is Earth.

Isunia

Liam is a highly determined and intelligent young man. Who doesn’t let his disfigurement get in the way of his dream. It is actually a constant reminder of why he wants to become stronger. Not that anyone in class really knows what it is. As most of them stayed away from him, either not knowing how to act or finding it hard to actually talk with him.

Despite his determination he finds it extremely difficult to speak to other people, Becoming nervous for some odd reason. Especially around girls. Because he has always been stared at from a younger age because of his handicap, he is always worried what others think of him.

Once if one were to get to know him, they would find out he has a real strong sense of moral justice. That he is thoughtful, selfless and always willing to help.

He has magical prosthetics for his left arm and leg. The magic helped with making it so he was able to use his new hand as naturally as his real one. The same thing with his leg. With only being able to feel pressure in those limbs, no pain or any other sensation. With compartments in the leg to hold magical runes. These were created by his mother.

Liam knew with training with his father, he couldn’t rely on just magic. So he trained on his on his physical prowess as well. He is Adept in fighting hand to hand and shooting a bow, being taught by his father. He uses a bow that was magically enhanced by his mother to give it the strength of steel, so it is strong enough to deflect other weapons yet retain its shape and remain as light as a normal bow. So he often uses it in hand to hand like a shortened staff.

He has a Bond with a Mythical Fox. He calls her Mia

Liam grew up in a loving family, where his father was an ex soldier now trader, and his mother was focused on creating magical technology. His father would often be the one trying to sell the product of whatever his mother created. This would often cause them to travel to other countries, bringing along him, His fraternal twin, and his two younger sisters. They found out pretty early in Liam's life he was a rune caster, and a talented one as well.

They tried their best to keep his magical abilities a secret, but it would come out while they were traveling when he was 9. Slave traders were informed by someone who probably saw Liam use his magical abilities. They came at night, His father put up a hell of a fight to protect them, but while they were busy with him, the leader and a few others managed to get by him and enter the room where Liam, and his siblings were. As they were about to drag Liam away, the leader of the Slave traders for some reason thought his three sisters would be useless, and began to conjure a large fire spell.

All Liam could think to do was cast a reflecting spell, and he placed it directly in front of his younger sisters. By the time he managed to get it up, he didn’t have enough time to protect himself other than to yank himself behind the leader, but it wouldn’t do much good as he was hit by the spell as well, receiving 3rd degree burns over his left side of his body.

Luckily his family managed to survive the night, with only him being severely wounded. Losing both his arm and leg, as well as losing most of the sight in his left eye.

Liam had always wanted to be like his father, and be a soldier, but it would seem his dream would be extremely unlikely. However, that night terrified him so much that he wished it would never happen to anyone else. So instead of wallowing in self pity at what happened to him, he would focus his efforts to become strong enough to protect his family, despite his loss.

With the help of his mother, he was able to walk, run and jump again, his new prosthetics seemingly being one with his body.

Finn did not look pleased at the answer. But he didn’t say anything. Qantz spoke in an extremely odd way, expecting everyone to follow along as if he spoke plainly. Instead of arguing he decided to continue to listen inside, that is till three figures approached them.

Finn nocked an arrow as Qantz-Farron deferred the first action to Vela, he paused on pulling the bowstring back, still aiming his nocked arrow towards the ground, the two other arrows still in his draw hand fingers.

Watching Vela summon ice shards out of nothing was mesmerizing as it was graceful. He watched their backs as she sent the shards flying. Killing the two goblins.

The half orc was able to block the shards meant for him with ease. Keeping his cool as he did. Being able to knock projectiles out of the air like that meant he was a skilled swordsman with a keen eye. He moved himself just so that Vela blocked Finns line of sight.

Despite this, Finn smirked. Normally it was a good move to do so when facing an archer. But clearly he didn’t face any competent archers before. He could still see the half orc reach for something under his cloak, offering to bribe the group with money. While he could very well be reaching for a bag of gold, or more likely something else. Finn could not take the risk if it was something else.

Focusing a bit of magic into his arrow, it started to buzz slightly as electricity arked at the tip. He slid the arrow up on the string so it was off centered a few inches. Raising the bow and drawing the string at the same time, he held it horizontally. Aiming for the half orc’s hand that had slipped into his cloak. Hoping to pin it to his chest. The drawing of the bow was only a second before he let the arrow fly.

The arrow did not fly straight at first, the backend of the arrow going wide to the right oddly. The arrow tip came close to Vela’s right shoulder, she could most likely feel the electricity from the tip of it as it passed her. But nothing more than an intriguing buzz that might cause the hairs on her arm to rise.

As soon as the arrow passed her however, The arrow straightened itself out, as if the wind pushed it back into position. Aimed straight for the Orc’s hand. Again, hoping to pinn it to the orcs own body, and use the electrical charge to knock him out or enough to drop his sword.

Whatever happened, Finn already had a second arrow nocked and ready to draw. Still standing in his original position,

Sighing at Nyriens answer after the quip. Yes they would have questioned them of course. But the watch was not the elite group of men for sure. Many of whom were incompetent lazy bastards who just did it to collect the meager pay the spot offered.

He didn’t push it though, he only threw it out there for the others… he personally felt the ‘tavern’ would have been the best step though. Full of thugs and criminals, they wouldn’t have to ask around too much to find at least one supplier. Either scare him or entice him with an offer to take the drugs off their hands.

Finn blinked when he was ignored by Qantz-Farron, then just decided to up and walk away with no explanation of why or where he planned on going.

Sera then apologized, saying she’s going with qantz-farron on this one. explaining that they should take the initiative. On what exactly? Walk around aimlessly? He didn’t even offer much of a plan in the first place. Let alone what he was even thinking of trying.

He didn’t even get a chance to retort as she spun on her heels and walked away. Finn couldn’t help but feel like the last kid ignored/left out once again. Scratching the back of his head with a bit of an irritated sigh escaping his lips as he tried to push the stupid feeling from his head.

She was right about one thing though, it was their mission. As much as he didn’t like the situation he would feel worse just letting them go alone. Splitting up without a plan would surely just make everything fall apart. Sighing, he looked to Vela, who hadn’t said anything after all that and said while scratching his temple. ”I guess we should follow…? ”

Gods this is awkward... Finn thought to himself as he started after them before they got too far away. Talk about a well mesh group. Guy who speaks in riddles, a lady who likes to antagonize everyone, and another lady who just kept to herself it seemed.

Finn walked in silence as he followed the others, slightly back from the group so that he arrived just after Sera decided to go into a building by herself. One that Qantz- Farron decided to stop at for some reason. He then looked at the man who now carried a lit lantern and asked quietly.
“Mind filling us in on how you ‘know’ this is a stockpile? Could have told us in the first place. Instead of having us walk around blindly...
With a clear hint of irritation in his voice. As well as a clear cut off.

He glanced at Vela, “Excuse the poor choice of words…” he said with a wince in his voice.

He moved towards the door that Sera just snuck into when Qantz-Farron would answer or not. Standing with his back to the wall on the left side of the door, his eyes darted from left to right as he checked farther into the ally and stood ready to storm in if he heard a struggle. However he stood with his back to the wall, to. Not look suspicious as much as one could in an ally from those passed the mouth of it.

As he waited he drew three arrows from his quiver and held them in his draw hand, one arrow in between each of his fingers. He then held them casually, tips pointed to the ground,

Yi took the cup with a quick nod of thanks and took a drink, chugging almost all of it right away. He coughed a bit after but he was still listening to her. She went on to say it wasn't necessary to worry about her because of her quirk, explaining a tiny bit about it. He watched a she played with her own fingertips. with her soft voice it was clear that she was a really shy girl. which with her making the initiative and coming here meant she was way out of her comfort zone...and it was kinda adorable.

He smiled,”I appreciate you visiting, and I’m glad you’re ok. While I didn’t know it was your quirk, and that you would have been fine either way is a relief. As for me you do not need to worry. I appreciate it, but I’ve suffered much worse before. “ he said, his smile being more pained as he remembered previous… punishments from his past life. But it was only there for the briefest of moments before his smile strengthened again.

Only to turn into a nervous one when SHE walked in. Ms slappy. Covering his nervousness with another drink from his cup, despite only having a drop of water in it.

However she seemed to be polite and somewhat sorry in a round about way when she asked if he was ok with what happened.

”I’m fine thanks. It’s nice to finally know your true name Shinon.I am Yi helme. Please call me Yi, Sealer is just a silly name to call me by. I don’t even go by that back home. “

Before he could reply to her asking how long they been there, which he thought odd. Did she think there was naughty things going on? The one who called him Hairy came in, calling him by his real name. How did he know? Perhaps it was the nurse… fumiko would have registered him under his real name of course. He tossed the thought to the side as he also asked why the girls were here, as if it was improper. He raised an eyebrow at the way he he said it but he soon dropped it, turning his attention back to Yi.

He then offered a power at to yi, who accepted the gift with a chuckle. Yi always found power bars to be lacking of flavor… not hospital food. Perhaps it was because he was well acquainted with it, being used to it. Either way he accepted it and said “Thank you, I appreciate it. I must say I am a bit surprised to receive a visit from you all. I thank you all for coming. I must say I am not used to that… a nervous chuckle escaped his lips. As he scratched the back of his head.

“I am a bit sorry for stealing the spotlight, yesterday… when I saw him looming over Aurora I could not stand back.” He also said while bowing his head. He knew they were students, and unlike he, probably wanted the Experience from fighting a tough opponent.
